Is the old audi quattro any fun? I haven't driven it yet, in stock nor GT tuned modes... I wonder if it'd be able to make something nice out of some track?
 
i would suggest a group B rally car, and driven not at cathederal rocks as we already ran a rally there, maybe at grand canyon or the ice arena.
 
I'll second Dan's vote for Grand Canyon. Grand Canyon Reverse would be even better. If it's in the RS200 Rally Car, I might wet myself :drool:

I'd love to drive the Audi Quattro, or the Alpine 1600S, but both would need some tuning (more power, and an LSD for the Alpine).
 
I'd love to see the Nissan SKYLINE GT-R V-spec II N1 (R34) 2000 be used in the WRS. Since I am new I am not sure if it was driven in that series, but I'd love to race it... I just raced it at Seattle Circuit Reverse, lot's of fun!
 
i know we are running the mini version this week, but since vexd got his wish, i will also persist...

my dream combo:

GT mode
autumn ring foward
free run
Nissan GTR LM (that concept skyline, the R35 wanna be)
tires R5

we haven´t run in autumn ring foward since week 3, and last time was a normal car (lancer EVO).

will be a great combo for week 52 or so... please try that cyril, and tell me what do you think...👍
 
Have we had an Arcade mode race that's used a car that hasn't any adjustable topspeed setting?

If not, I think it would be good idea to try it some time. A true 'get in and drive' race, just like it was in GT3.

Week 50 should be like that if I don't change my mind.

Edit :
Weeks 37 (Zonda and Saleen @ El Capitan) and 44 (Yellow Bird @ Apricot) used arcade cars without an adjustable top speed.
 
I am recently starting to get back into racing again after a very long "on - off or just cant be arsed" stage with it, I know a rally combo would be a nice event for the WRS and probably enough to make me take part again :cool: ... not that I could compete against Dan on dirt especially somewhere like Grand Canyon! ... but would be a fun attempt anyway 👍

Cathedral forward, Tahiti maze both ways and The Alps both ways get my vote ;)
 
Except that you're using the Alps for the second warm-up race in ARC IV. So the WRS will wait a little bit more before using that track.
I'm still looking for a rally combo for next week.

I still think we should use Ice Arena *dodges stones* With some type of road car. It was so much fun with the Clio Sport in jump_aces's WRC competition.

I just think Grand Canyon will be a nightmare to get around cleanly, and it's really hard to see touches and what not. We'll be checking replays for months.
 
I've spent all day yesterday testing combos, and the next 3 weeks are ready to be posted. I'll leak some information, just to tease you :mischievous:
  • Weeks 49, 50 and 51 will all be arcade.
    I have GT Mode races ready too, but they don't fit in the race schedule yet for various reasons.
  • There will be a rally car on a dirt track
  • There will be a multi-lapper
  • We'll be using normal tyres once
  • The Nürburgring is on the track list again

More info next tuesday.

The Nürburgring is on the track list again: :yuck: I'm going to do the whole track in first gear in protest and force someone to verify my replay!

I totally agree with Casio. Nurburgring just makes me mad! :grumpy: Maybe this will turn it around for me, though. Hopefully we'll be racing a great car there...
 
The Nurburgring is awesome, once you learn to get around it without going off-track.

It's even more awesome, when you learn to get around it fast. Too bad I haven't mastered that part, yet :D

The Nurburgring is always welcome, in my book. Despite what my partecipation in the 'Ring series might show...

The most annoying thing about the nurb is that the distance between me and Dan is no longer less than 1 second, it increases to about 3 seconds.

I havnt done a hard lap around the nurb for a while now...

Will see how the combo is and see what i can do 👍
 
Cyril, Please! :scared: I tried your rally combo. Please put us in a 67 Shelby on High Speed Ring (forward) 👍

Did some more testing with it and I actually like it at about 515 HP. Has a better sound and is more appropriate for the period.

The S4 can fly indeed and when I looked for a name for week 49, I thought at something like "Lancia Delta Airlines at Swissair Alps", but I finally chose a more traditional and meaningless name. :D

The Cobra was on my short-list for week 44, but I finally chose the Yellow Bird, and tested it too on High-speed Ring.
But High-speed Ring has to be a multilapper IMO : it's so fast and wide that it's pretty ease to overtake AI. I there a Cobra race in GT Mode ? 💡
 
There is a cobra race. This is the only car type in that race, so it's fun if you tune it to be competitive with the other cobras...
 
like i stated a while ago if the car is convertable, you can choose to race with top down, meaning only 1 AI 👍!

I tell you what we ought to do, in 10 or 20 weeks we should race the Formula Gran Turismo in Arcade mode around the Ring...I've been dying for a chance to get a sub 5 minute time and during a WRS week would be cool 👍
