Flat-out
I've spent all day yesterday testing combos, and the next 3 weeks are ready to be posted. I'll leak some information, just to tease you :mischievous:
  • Weeks 49, 50 and 51 will all be arcade.
I have GT Mode races ready too, but they don't fit in the race schedule yet for various reasons.
  • There will be a rally car on a dirt track
  • There will be a multi-lapper
  • We'll be using normal tyres once
  • The Nürburgring is on the track list again

More info next tuesday.

So, WK 49 = rally car on dirt track!
WK 50 = Nurburgring on normal tyres!
Which means WK 51 has to be a multilapper!
Can't wait! ;) (Unless it happens to be in one of the few cars I've yet to unlock or win, then I'll be  !!!! But that's my own fault!!!! :dopey: )

To be honest, this week was the multilapper too. Further to the vote from last week-end, it just happened to be a one-lap multilapper :dunce:
I don't think making week 51 a multilapper would bring anything to the race, that'd even have the opposite effect I think.

I'm now busy testing the final settings for races 53, 54 and 55.

I know it's been mentioned a couple of times before but I thought I'd bring it the fore again...I'd really love a race on Tsukuba Wet, it'd be a real challenge.

Thought I would add a suggestion for something to include the HPA Golf R32, maybe a GT mode with suspension tuning, this car has a lot of potential to unlock....!

Done it. Albeit ages ago, week 11 or 12 @ Costa Di Thingy (I think I won D3 for the first time that week).

Nothing stopping us from using the Golf GTi MkV though. When was the last time we used a FF road car? 1983?

TVRs are cool...

I'm down for a FF race though. Hopefully one that's not too stupid though. :)

You can all flame me if it's been done before, :scared: and although I hate rallying, :yuck: I'd like to see a race (not necessarily on dirt or snow) with one of the older FR rally cars, 1974 Mitsubishi Lancer, 1969 Nissan Bluebird or 1985 Nissan 240SX.
Preferably arcade mode with minimal modifications. :D

I think we need a flame smiley... Cause I'd go :flame: :flame: :flame: :flame:

Lol, I think that's a GREAT idea! I haven't driven any of them yet, and would especially like to drive the 510, aka Bluebird. I was quite dissatisfied when I found out that they didn't include the normal road car version in GT4. Especially after I had seen them testing it in RL for the game... :grumpy:

Here it is :

As for the cars you mention, I just love them. ;)
To be honest, I was setting up in october last year a Mitsubishi race series, and one of the races was using the Lancer '74 that won the Safari Rally.
The series was due to begin on November 1st, everything was ready : pics, threads, boards, etc and then on October 23th CFM proposed me to take over the WRS which just destroyed my plans.

Could we say, implement our own penalty system where everytime you touch the AI/Walls/3+ Wheel off, you add 1 second onto your final time? Keep the Forced Pit Entry on still, to stop hitting the AI for advantages that would be greater then 1 second. If that makes sense...

...I hope it does.

I can imagine someone reading this thread first and pondering over that post for an hour, thinking 'What.....The.....****.....?!'

That really is terrible, now I'm off to people more confuse them...

Yeah an FF race is long overdue. There's only ever been two and the last was way back in Week 15 (before that Week 5). Toyota Celica TRD SportsM? Ford Focus RS? Integra Type R?

I've been thinking at this for a long time. Since you mention it, I'm now busy testing again some combos so as to change my plans for next week. I have something in mind that includes an FF, I just need to make sure that it can be enjoyable.

Here is a tip which should make it possible to identify both the track and the car I have in mind.

Hmm, track I can imagine, but car? Hmm... I have a hunch... May I ask if it's going to be GT or Arcade mode?

Citta di Aria and....hmmm.....looks like a Monk with a German Shepherd, some kind of german FF car....I dunno?!?

:)

The combo looks fine. Some more testing to determine the power we should use and I think I'll post it next tuesday.

Volkswagen Lupo at Citta' d'Aria?

I suppose that is San Francesco d'Assisi with a wolf (Lupo is Italian for wolf).

The Wizard.

Good guess, but I thought our italian WRSer would identify the legend or St. Francis of Assisi taming the wolf of Gubbio.

Indeed, Citta di Aria in GT4 = Assisi, Italy in real life
and lupo = wolf

*Cough*

San Francesco d'Assisi is Italian for St. Francis of Assisi ;) :D

OK, I'm a froggy but I had managed to figure this out ;)
My point was : it's not a random wolf who just happened to be here when the pic was painted, but it's the one from Gubbio.

My bad :embarrassed:

Yeah, I think I knew that legend, once upon a time... And I knew about San Francesco having a special bond with animals, but I completely forgot about the wolf from Gubbio.

Guess my knowledge in religious matters has been replaced by engineering knowledge :D

as cyril said in the results forum, we will have a 30 minute race, so since you don´t want to race in any of the tracks viper chose for the JGTC, we could race at autumn ring foward.:dopey:

tough to be consistent, and a track that we know since the days of GT1... could be a great race with a reasonable powered car:tup: like a DTM or something... mercedes CLK-DTM anyone

Not sure if this has been mentioned/done already, I'm still relatively new to the WRS. How about we get a set amount of credits (say 100,000) to buy and tune any car you like? It might mean a bit of extra research work for Flat-out but after the recent combo's (Lupo/Citta de Aria, :banghead: , S2000/Tsukuba WET, :banghead: :banghead: , BMW Maclaren/Le /Sarthe, :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:), I think he deserves it! :sly:

The only problem with this idea is that it's kinda hard to tell if people have only got what they say they've got.

For example, I could have X car with 200hp, and someone else could have the exact same as me, both costing the exact same. However, I or the other person could quite easily, put on something else and not list it, say another level of weight reduction, and you really couldn't tell the difference, although it may be worth .3/.4 at the line.

The GT3 file format was known, and it was possible thanks to MK's editor, to know exactly what parts were installed on the car used.
It's not the case in GT4, so if someone was using twice the budget to install extra parts it would be impossible to spot it.
A bit of a problem.

Point taken, wasn't sure if you could tell what parts were installed from the Max drive data, (still not got one yet?).

Ok, how about a the Daihatsu Midget, say 5 laps round the Nurb,

Hi Chris !
Are you finally back in the WRS ?

BTW, week 45 was on Circuit de la Sarthe with almost any car, and CoolGeekz used the Mercedes-Benz Patent 1886. Almost an hour for one single hotlap
That's crazy.

No, Sorry Cyril. I wish I could. I am almost finished with school and have a big move comming up. Also my DFP is taking a hike on me. They don't even have replacement parts for it. So I will have to make my own custom pedal box. I was thinking either Pots, or Hall Effect sensors and magnets. I don't know yet. Hopefully soon after my move and I settle into my new job, I will get back into the WRS. I just like to stop in from time to time, and check on my favorite bunch of unsafe drivers.:)

LOL, CoolGeekz must be a masochist! I can see him driving his 1886 Benz, while wearing one of those black vinyl suits with a zipper over his mouth. He is a glutton for punishment. Hahahahaha!!!
