I've spent the last couple of days just messing about on GT4 trying out cars i'd never driven before and generally having great fun. Anyway i would like to recommend a combination i found particularly good:

Toyota Sprinter Trueno GT-Apex (AE86) S.Shigeno Version '00 (Initial D yO!) on Special Stage Route 5 Reverse (a track we've never used before) in Arcade mode. I found full tune (~330hp/ton) with S2's very nice. Although some N3's with stock power might be fun also?

Hmm, I'd quite like that one, Pink, it turned out to my favour last time! ;) :P

It's good fun, anyway, the setups get quite intricate at Suzuka if we were to do that in GT Mode.

i've got one for you: gt mode - european events - schwarzwald liga b - fuji 90's (or suzuka full)
audi rs4 - s3 tyres - no turbo - no nos - other free

Do you know that I didn't remember that suggestion when I chose the combo for week 65 ? I just realized now that I chose the same event and same car !
Or perhaps it was a subliminal influence.

Anyway, [tip of the day]week 66 will be another fast arcade race[/tip of the day]. I still haven't chosen the car and track though, I have several combos ready and I'll choose one at the last minute.

It was (and still is...) a nice combo, that week 66.

How 'bout a reverse? A track with straights, on a low and slow car... How about a minivan at, say, Fuji? It's a test of cornering tecnique - get a slow exit-speed, and you'll lag behind during the straight. A Renault Axantime would do. Or maybe some small hatchback...

Were there any Rally races? Will there be any in the future?

I'm not certain that a slow car on a straight car would be much fun. Imagine a Ford T at Test Course :mischievous:
Or remember the overtaking licence with the Avantime on Mulsanne straight. Pretty boring if you ask.

I didn't mean an extreme ;)

But something in the 250hp-max range on Fuji won't be too boring. The exit on the second chicane is crucial to the time it takes to finish the straight... Or El Capitan (this one would need a car with better handling than an MPV).

Avantime on Mulsanne? Ouch. Only the most dedicated 24-hours-endurance-A-Spec-nuts won't fall asleep there. Yet to try this one...

well, you and i might be connected in some way. and I was bragging about you taking over my suggestion :ill:
if i put some more here, would you care to listen to those or will you just wait for other extraspecial brainwaves?

I always take into account what's posted here.
But I wasn't totally joking about the subliminal influence. I guess I memorize what I've read here and I remember it without knowing where it comes from.

How about another multi-car week similar to the Silvia/Elise week Cyril?

I was kicking myself for ages when I went back through the archives to see what I'd missed. It seems that that one was quite popular too.

Sounds like you've got ahead a bit on your testing for the next few weeks so this should slow you down a bit? :sly:

Yea, I'd like to see the div 1 times compared to what we did, well, I din't submit.

Sorry again for the battle thing :indiff:

[typo comp]a slow car on a straight car[/quote]

Back on subject. One of the best combos I ever did was the Ford T at Seattle. It's been a while since we've done a slow, slow car, would be nice to do it again. We can use N-Tyres and it can be arcade and I'd feel all warm and fuzzy down below.

You guys need to learn some patients, try doing a lap of Le Sarthe in the Motor Carriage (52 minutes is my record I think), or a 19 minute Ring lap in a 700hp Racecar.

I would like to see a race featuring the Toyota Supra, any kind of model in one of the following weeks.

As far as I know, we didn't had a Supra up till now in the WRS...

Wrong, we ran one in week 2.
You had posted fast T-times (see there), but you didn't submit in the end.

I'd support the supra idea, after watching your drifting lap, I'd like to have specs and tyres on the car that would support a bit of tail end action too 👍

I'm busy right now banging my head with the controller for missing that Stratos week. I love that car. It's been my all-time GT4 favorite. If I only knew about the WRS earlier...

i'm sure troux will kiss you for this 'cos he's a great supra fan - and actually has a specced up one himself irl.
i wouldn't mind having a wrs week driving one, especially the rz (not the low-mil tho, never seem to find it in the used car lot) that handles like a dream.
a race track like midfield, suzuka or motegi would be most fun i guess.

Supra? 👍

I guess it would be in arcade mode though if it's only available used. Nevermind, at least we may get a car I've got half a chance of controlling. :dunce:

I wouldn't want it in GT Mode. It won't be fair - those with a 10km version would have a clear advantage over the regular version, especially if that regular one was used... Power differences and all that.

It'd be nice to have a double-car week, with a different concept: Every driver chooses his car, and they should both be as equal as possible (in drivetrain, power, weight and year), and then each one races only his chosen car.
They could also be unequall, with handicaps to the better one (say, a 100hp FR VS. a 175-200hp FF). Then we'll see who controls what sort of car better, and where each car has an advantage (the low-power FR on tecnicals, the high-power FF on straights, maybe?)...

can we do trial mountain in the proper direction next time?

the potential "unsportsmanlike" cutting before the lap can be nullified by doing a multi-lap GT event.
Something on the 80's or 90's fuji would be nice too, i don't think we've touched those since i've been here.

We've done Fuji 90's in week 2 (in the Supra I mention a few posts above), and we've never raced at Fuji 80's.
