Ok, so I'm ALL for having a LOT more older cars show up in the WRS, and would be fine with a Supra of sorts here soon(although preferably in GT Mode), I think something from 1880 should be out of the question... :P

I'd love to see the first Gen Corvette used somewhere, and then the old euro cars and old Japanese cars(50s-70s) are GREAT fun to drive.

I'd like to race that track actually, good idea of bringing it up. It's a very fast track, maybe a '80s Fairlady on it?

I raced the '7x Fairlady (the one at Nissan dealership) on Fuji 80' yesterday, for the Japanese '70s event. Cool cars there. I like the way that massive bodyroll looks in the replays. Crazy. It'd be a nice race.
BTW: If you brake too hard on dirt with that car, you'll see some weird drit flying up infront of you (like on real bumper-cams). Nice touch by P.D

EDIT: The Fairlady is RWD...

On that note, you get sparks in the Volvo 245GLT on the road... Lol!

Yeah, on those cars too... I just never noticed you see small rocks flying up on dirt. I guess it works like a small plow :)

How about another multi-car week similar to the Silvia/Elise week Cyril?

I was kicking myself for ages when I went back through the archives to see what I'd missed. It seems that that one was quite popular too.

Sounds like you've got ahead a bit on your testing for the next few weeks so this should slow you down a bit? :sly:

👍 One of the most fun races in a long time. Let's have another one of them Cyril. :D

Usually I get bored with the combo, after the first 3 or 4 sessions. This week I just switched car and direction and found a lot of new motivation. 👍

When braking?!
Yep! The car does have soft suspension in real life, but not quite THAT soft... I also hate how PD made the car weigh about 1000lbs heavier than it ACTUALLY is in real life... At least they made the handling and braking exceptional. The max hp you can achieve with it is also only about 2/3rds of what can be done for not too much money. There are motors with over 800hp when built up, and in the game we can only manage 281?! The car is much faster than one would think around the track though because of how much grip it has, it's a damn shame it's so heavy and underpowered though.

How about a Nice M3 CSL or M5 at Nur, or an NSX at twin Ring Motegi west short course? They sounded interesting to me....

I know we've done it relatively recently. But I'd love to see the Formula GT at Suzuka. I mean yes, we could wait until the week ending with October 9th (F1 race at suzuka is oct. 8th). But then I don't even know if I'll have a PS2 because I'll be off at school then.

Well anyway. Basically my suggestion is either the Formula Gt or any DTM/JGTC car at Suzuka. Or, I'll just add another, the Audi (production) R8 look alike, the Nuvolari?

And another thing. NOT another Toyota. Two weeks of Toyotas in a row is quite enough for a while.

That production-R8 look-alike (more of a prototype, really) is the Audi Le Mans Quattro. The Nuvolari seems like just another Audi concept, with a few similar cues (but they were also in that "I, Robot" car) of the "future"-Audis. I think they have the same engines (or similar ones, at least). I don't have the Le Mans Quattro, only the Nuvolari, so I can't check on them...

By the way, a new R8 Prototype was caught a while ago. Looks worse than the GT4 one...

I have to admit, I love these weeks where we get to choose more than one car...(in GT Mode no less!) Here's a suggestion along those lines:

While sampling cars for this week's race, I found a couple of fun ones from the 80s. How about an 80's race week? With maybe a power limit to make it so some other cars are pretty much just as competitive as others, or at least close enough to not be able to tell the difference unless you're one of the fastest drivers... Either arcade or GT Mode could work... You could verify the power ratings by the replay for the arcade mode...

I thought the used car race week 68 was a gas. Testing cars, tuning them and finally finding the fastest was a blast.

El Capitan is one of my favorite tracks or Laguna Sega with a Mercedes or a Touring car that doesn't need much setup work would be excellent

I don't particularly like the Arcade races!!!!!!!!!!!!

How about this, take a little car like the Subaru 360 or Honda ACT Z with all
the mods on them and go a track like El Capitan or Trial Mountain.
I think that would be fun because it would not be too hard to get going fast,
so anyone could drive without crashing alot.

I'd still like to see some of the 'special' cars used....Caterham, Nike One, Tank Car........Err.......maybe not the Tank car but you get the idea.

It would be nice to use them for something useful for a change as we can't race them in the game?

BTW, nice combo for week 68 Cyril.

Darren.

Tank Car : I haven't found any use for it so far... Except on the 400m test perhaps.
Nike One : I'd like to use it, perhaps I should test a few combos with it.
Caterham : Yes, but it has to be GT Mode and the track shouldn't be too bumpy. But I'll definitely use it before I leave the WRS stewardship.

I like the way you think... 👍

I was thinking something along the lines of a Motorsport Homolagation Race prolly at Laguna Seca or Suzuka.

With cars like the 190 Evo, Delta HF, RS200 etc. In Gt mode with limited mods proly stock engine with oil change, and the rest up to the driver. N Tires would be nice too.

Last weeks Multiple car GT mode race was A LOT OF FUN. Even though I submitted my time with the Supra, I tried all the other contestants excluding the Cerbera. We should have another race like this. To make it a bit more fair maybe we should allow for car classes based on power/weight ratio.

PS. More GT races for the love of God..... P P P P Puhleez

car classes based on power/weight ratio.
While many may think that that evens things out, it most certainly does not. Between the possible massive differences in torque, handling, fwd/rwd/awd etc, cars of the same power to weight ratio can be VERY different speeds around tracks. And then on some tracks some cars in the same pwr/wht ratio will be fasters than others, that are normally faster on other tracks. If you catch my drift.

There's never really going to be a couple of cars that are exactly equal, and there's never going to be a way to find out just how close cars are without asking one of the aliens to go take some cars for a spin. Even then, one car might tailor to another's way of driving more than another. Last week, I think that if more people hopped into the Skyline with the stock differentials, it would've been into the low 1'09s as well. I could see myself with more time getting to the top of 1'09, and the aliens are much faster than I.

Nike One : I'd like to use it, perhaps I should test a few combos with it.
I've tested this car at Chamoinx, super fun combo, takes a couple of laps to get used to the car, but worth it when you get it

Caterham : Yes, but it has to be GT Mode and the track shouldn't be too bumpy. But I'll definitely use it before I leave the WRS stewardship.
Opera Paris, Tsukuba, or Mid-Field R. would be good tracks for that car.

About the Skyline I agree with you. I really like the car at first because of the sound but I was struggling with mostrous understeer on the combo. It finally dawned on me to remove the diff and the VCD and I didnt even check the boards for that :D.

Would low 9s be possible, perhaps. Myself I did a 1.10.5 clean, but on each sector I saw atleast 4 to 5 tenths faster times. I didnt keep going with the skyline because by that time I had raced the supra far too much to get used to 4wd again.

But those kind of races are very fun indeed. GT mode is far more entertaining for me than arcade, thats not to say that some arcade combos falt out comes up with are not fun.

I wish there was a game like this for computer. On PC you have either kiddies NFS, which btw is such a shame about that franchise. I dont know if any of you have ever played NFS: Porsche Unleashed but after that game the franchise looked to be going places, but it soon disappointed after. Or you have the hardcorer simulation like GTR and GTR 2, which are all great and extreme fun. I just miss something as casual as GT, something about taking and M3 on the ring that I just love. Alas a man can dream right?

The way thing are going you will able to GT4 on the PC with little or no problems.
As of now I can play GT2 on the computer any time I want.

How exactly? Last time I checked, that PS2-to-PC emulator did manage to run GT4 - but at 1 FPS. I used it to check my disk after a problem with the PS2...

Oh, and Cyril: Don't you dare putting any car on Chamonix. If Grand Canyon was tough to keep clean, Chamonix is even worse. Only aliens can make it (seen Holl01's lap of the test S14?). It's ages long, and since it's ice, it's even more terrible...

I like races such as Week 68, where we had multiple cars to choose from. But, I think that for future races, it would be nice to have a power limit, or to have a more level playing field. I'd like to think that every car has a chance in each of the 3 divisions, and where tuning and driving skill are the biggest factors. I know there will be some cars that are better than others. However, it's just disheartening to see the fastest drivers are the ones with over 300hp advantage against you.
