Renault 5 Turbo would make a really fun combo. Rally or Homologation? Both are fun...

Isn't one acquired through Citta Di Aria (Hard)? And one on Tahiti, Easy I think...

Fantastic idea guys. Some have touted it the greatest ever!

It's called 'W.R.S Death Machine Type VI'. The system is as follows

1. X number of racers sign up for W.R.S Death Machine Type VI
2. Every week, the person who finishes last overall gets an IP ban from GTP (Forever, or until the end of W.R.S Death Machine Type VI I haven't decided)
3. So on and so forth until we only have 2 remaining
4. Winner gets 1 year premium membership, and can permanently IP ban two users of their choice (Although one has to be Colby).

I don't see how anyone could not like it.

Well you won't be able to ban me because I actually wrote the GTP software and included the following code:

if (ban.name == "MisterWeary") {
Delete(Casio);
}

So I propose instead of banning me...the winner has to chose one member to be eaten by a bear. It all has to be filmed and put on YouTube too 👍

You might want to throwing extravagant lies, you extravagant liar. I know for a fact that the Lead Developer of current version GTP software is Kier Darby. Tames Limm and John Percival wrote the original code in 1999.

Liar. (Though I like the bear idea)

We all knew the bear idea was gold. With the recent spate of bear-related deaths and the need to utilise YouTube more effectively...HOWEVER, I digress...MisterWeary and Colby are my Internet Pseudonyms. I can't just go around blurting the fact I write this software, people will mob me again for my autograph, I don't like mass attention.

I find it hard to believe that a person who not only hangs around all day in forums, but it nerdy enough to actually write up a whole forum code, would go outside enough to be mobbed by the obviously amazing amount of people who would know you.

I suppose the bi-monthly sci-fi convention (BI-MON-SCI-FI-CON) might be a no go area.
"OMG. It's Kier Darby, HE WROTE VBULLETIN 3.0+!!!111 SOMEONE GET ME A PAPER BAG!!!!111!!1"
But I suppose that's the price you pay for stardom.

By the way, you might want to pull your pants down a tad. I hear your belt is chafing your nipples.

You're playing Magic : The Gathering too much, Brad.
And there's a flaw in your rules : the case when X = 1 should be excluded, or else we could have the following :
1) Casio and only him signs up for the WRS Death Machine
2) On week 1 Casio finishes last overall and gets an IP ban from GTP
3) we never have 2 racers remaining
4) nobody wins the 1 year premium membership.
:P :P :P

   @ the last seven posts.

I think that's a record for the most consecutive post's that made me laugh...Especially your one Cyril. :)

Not sure I like the sound of the death match mode given my usual placing in the result's, even less so when you consider I only ever access GTP from the same computer. :nervous:

Darren

I don't even know the Magic : The Gathering is, I had to look it up. But yeah it sounds so totally cool

Each game represents a battle between powerful wizards called "Duelists" or "Planeswalkers" who use magical spells, items, and fantastic creatures to defeat their opponents. Though the original concept of the game drew heavily from the motifs of traditional fantasy role-playing games such as Dungeons & Dragons, Magic bears little resemblance to those pencil-and-paper adventures.

The game has an official tournament system, with tournaments having been played on all seven continents, including Antarctica(Why?!)[2]. The cards themselves are valuable, much like other trading cards, but in the case of Magic, a card's value is primarily based on its power and utility in game play, not just its scarcity and other intangible aesthetic qualities such as the quality of its artwork[3].

Anyway, it's more of an offense to you because you actually know what it is! Maybe you should join the Magic: The Gathering Pro Tour Cyril? You'd probably see Colby there, he's the one with the high pants and the nerdy glasses...

Oh wait...

I played the early versions of Magic a lot from 1994 to 1996, but I haven't played since. And since they release half a dozen expansion sets a year, with new cards, new rules... I guess I'm far from being competitive now.

I actually did play a lot of Magic between the years of 1994 - 1997. When 4th edition came out I sort of gave up. I was a white + red player. How weird?!? What colours did you play Cyril?

I started when the Revised Edition and Legends expansion set came out in May 1994. I mainly played blue+white to lock the game or red+green to deal damage very fast.
I suggest we move this discussion to the chit chat thread.

I dunno about Cas but I'm coming with ya Darren!
By the way Brad I'm loving the idea of W.R.S Death Machine Type VI.
;)

By the way Brad I'm loving the idea of W.R.S Death Machine Type VI.;)
by the way βen and cas i'm hating the idea of w.r.s. death machine whatnot. i'd be first to be kicked out of the comp. the idea alone of being kicked out of gtp is giving me sleepless nights.

I like the concept of a tournament, the main problem being the amount of people participating.
With 30 people participating and one elimitation per week, we would have to wait 7 months to have a winner. With 50 people, it'd be a full year. Doesn't fit much into the weekly format does it ?
With 4 racers it would last only 3 weeks, but where's the fun in having a tournament with 4 racers only ?
I'll think about a tournament system by the end of the year, but it'll be running in the Long Race Series forum rather than the WRS.
(And no ban of course, that idea must come from Greg, the brainless alter ego of Casio)

IF no ban THEN i'm in ELSE i''ll concoct some series of my own.
flatty, thanks for the wise words - as always.

WRS Death Machine Type VI
could be altered depending on the people who enter. If the numbers worked out right, say 10 from each division, then you could take 2 away each week, then it's only 5 weeks.

However, WRS Death Machine Type VI could run just on the WRS results with no changes to the system in place now. Lets us last week as an example.

We had 10/12/6 submissions from D1-D3 respectively. To make it all even and nice, Every week 1 person goes out of the competition in D3, and 2 from the top 2, (Although to make it finish on the same week they'd need to be a 1 elimination D1 week I think, anyway, technicalities...). For example the following people would be out of the competition and IP ban! (No! No IP bans Greg!)

D1
rmk700
Dr_Watson

D2
jake73
sjaak68

D3
Bigracer

{Sorry Guys!}

These guys are out. Wherever they finish in the following weeks has no bearing on the results. Whoever submits the slowest out of the people left in the competition next week goes out, regardless if they finished ahead of the eliminated people or not.
The people who were eliminated still continue WRS'ing as normal.

Sounds nice, it'd give me another reason to WRS the whole time...

But what if I decide to skip a week where I've done badly?

If banned me this place would fall apart like apple crumble in the Saraha. I'm the very fabric of WRS. If there was a medal I'd get it.

if bragging awards would be issued you'd get the gold one.
if number-of-post awards would be issued you'd get the gold one.
if off-topic awards would be issued you'd get the gold one.

anyway its fun to have you around - i guess :)

hope you're not as pissed of now as colb was the other day :scared:

Heres an idea for a close race. This could be done on any track, really, and any car.
Basically, the higher the division you're in, the harder the compound, so the slower guys have a good chance and you'd probably come out with a very close result at the end of the week.
Eg.
Div. 1 runs on Super Hard Racing tyres
Div. 1 runs on Medium Racing tyres
Div. 3 runs on Qualifying tyres

Or something like that, ya knooow.
