Actually I take back whatever I said before. Definitely one of the most fun I've had on a combo was the Special Stage Route 5 when everyone was using Supras. But I used the TVR Cerbera, and absolutely LOVED it.

So I'm proposing a "GT MODE" race with the TVR Cerbera (wing? yes please), at either Laguna Seca or La Sarthe. Then again, any fastish race track would be good with the Cerbera.

"Hey, whaddaya say?"

Well, being quite disappointed with our final race and that fact that we start competing in licenses with no imagination, I spent 2 hours on searching really great combos. I've found out that it's not hard to select a car and a track in style. But you need to know cars well. That's not a problem to me. It's clear, that some wrs racers love stock cars, other prefer racing, shoices are differ in tyres, racing modes, tune-ups and so on. So I decided to mix everything:
cars: racing, rally, stock, slow & fast
racetracks: city courses, original circuits and racetracks
arcade and GT mode
single lappers and short races
racing, sports and road tyres
tuned cars and non tune cars
I tried to make this combos interesting and stylish.

So here they are:

1. GT mode/Muscle Car Championship/New York/3 laps/Dodge Charger R/T '70/fully modifed(NOS)/R3 tyres

2. GT mode/DTM race 3/Nordschleife/Alfa Romeo 155 race car '93/no tunes/R4

3. GT mode/free run/Motegi Road Course/Honda Civic race car '87/no tunes/R2

4. GT mode/free run/High Speed Ring/Aston Martin DB9/fully modifed(no NOS)/R2

5. GT mode/free run/Apricot Hill/Lotus Carlton '90/fully modifed(no NOS)/R3

6. GT mode/free run/Autumn Ring/Honda S2000/fully modifed(no NOS)/R2

7. GT mode/free run/Trial Mountain/RUF 3400S/fully modifed(no NOS)/R3

8. Arcade/time trial/Seattle/De Lorean/no tunes/Road Tyres

9. Arcade/time trial/Deep Forest/Audi Quattro '82/no tunes/Road tyres

10. Arcade/TimeTrial/Grand Valley short course/Toyota Supra '90/no tunes/S2

11. Arcade/time trial/Special Stage Route 5/Nismo 400R/no tunes/S3

12. Arcade/time trial/Laguna Seca/Chevrolet Corvette (C2) race car '63/no tunes/R3

13. Arcade/time trial/Sarte 2/Mazda 787B '91/no tunes/R3

14. Arcade/time trial/Seoul/Hyundai Accent Rally Car/no tunes/R2

15. Arcade/time trial//Costa di Amalfi/Peugeot 205 T16 evoII/no tunes/S3

That's my racing vision for the nearest future. I hope you'd like it!

Saying "no modes" I mean no tuning in GT mode and no power/weight set-ups in Arcade. Race cars are fast enough, for the arcade... Well I definitely can't understand it. This weight and power set-ups are made to perfom gaps in 2 players mode. So if you compete with your little sister - give her an advantage))))) But why do we do it every week? Always weight reductions and power ups. It's even shown a percentage. Don't you think that it lookes like a cheat-set for novices? Have you noticed, that car balance spoiled?? There's no such cars in real life. What about using car in original or tune it in GT mode???

Fully modifed cars (except NOS) that I mentioned above are great. Lovely kept in my GT garage, after numerous victories. You 'll see that it's a pleasure to drive them and also they are very useful in competing through wrs.

I understand that it's impossible to do all this events but I hope to see some of them. I hope our God-Judge Colby with His Angel-Creators will hear my prayers :sly:  )))
So, guys, if you like this combos - let me know, or let's do 'em even better! Anyway, thanks for your time...

Best wishes!

Racing enthusiast Johnny.

Nice list Johnny,👍

I forgot this earlier:

Rally+Deep Forest=Lots of fun.

Looks like you've got yourself a race series planned out there mate. Try mixing the GT/arcade mode up a bit more though. Better still why not redo that post as an interest check in here?

Cyril and now Colby (and their predecessors, these are the only 2 I've raced under though) have to balance the interests and requests of the masses and have always done an excellent job IMO, read the suggestions box for the last few weeks then look at the race threads?

I'm sure we'll be doing a full on track attack in something a bit faster and racier within the next few weeks...Calm down and have some patience, or maybe we should cancel this weeks WRS and post a new one? :dopey:

I've raced in some combo's I've absolutely hated since being here, (Wk 67 anyone?), but then there were plenty of others who loved it, that's what the poll's in the results threads for and this thread...You've said your bit and MisterWeary's already said he's been taking notes from in here.

You can't please all the people all of the time. :sly:

Darren.

Whoa!!! Man, that sounds great! What an amazing car/track choice! That's a fresh wind to wrs. I'd like them a lot! 👍 If they won't appear - maybe we do them here in Moscow in our favotite NetLand??
PS: Vote Charger for moderator! Joke))
You have't enough time for this:sly:

I appreciate your effort C-H-A-R-G-E-R but quite frankly this:
Well, being quite disappointed with our final race and that fact that we start competing in licenses with no imagination
Isn't acceptable 👎 And this NIGHT MICHAEL:

Is no way to be taken seriously.

The both of you have waltzed into the comp and done very little but complain about the races and it's wearing thin. You both need to have a good read of the Acceptable Use Policy and clean up your posting style 👍

STL, i love you. i like most tvr's but i adore the cerberas and chimera. i even got to tame the v12 beast!
so any wrs race with such a tvr would be hot hot hot to me.
if i'd have any rep points i'd share them with you now ...

I have been running the Jaquar XKR Coupe '99 around the ring in GT mode. The suspension responds well to imput, more real to me then a lot of the other cars in the game. I am probably running overpowered (500+) but it's been a fun car to push through the turns. Has a wing and all mods as well. Just need to find the correct HP for maximum fun factor :)

Edit 1: OK, 400 HP and no wing..;)

I like this one:

4. GT mode/free run/High Speed Ring/Aston Martin DB9/fully modifed(no NOS)/R2

But it reminds me of Week 62: Mazda 787B Race Car '91 @ High-Speed Ring (Reverse)
After running 18 races, I have seen some screamers at the WRS...

Edit 2:

9. Arcade/time trial/Deep Forest/Audi Quattro '82/no tunes/Road tyres
11. Arcade/time trial/Special Stage Route 5/Nismo 400R/no tunes/S3

Tried these out too. Good fun, but I feel like there is a similar thought process here. The interesting part about the WRS is variety. Always something unexpected...

1. GT mode/Muscle Car Championship/New York/3 laps/Dodge Charger R/T '70/fully modifed(NOS)/R3 tyres

We had NOS two weeks ago - and it was one of the most empty weeks ever. And it's a bit of an overkill, even without NOS...

2. GT mode/DTM race 3/Nordschleife/Alfa Romeo 155 race car '93/no tunes/R4

The tyres won't last the whole round. R3s have trouble staying alive for the whole lap...

3. GT mode/free run/Motegi Road Course/Honda Civic race car '87/no tunes/R2

I seriously like the idea of that combo... And it suits your idea, since in GT Mode, racecars can't be lightened.

Because modifications, other than power-mods, nitrous and wing, can't be controlled - so everyone could say "Yeah, it's stock" while, except if the gear-ratios were changed, it could be a fully-lightened racecar.

I like STLBarcelona's suggestion - give us a TVR Cerbera. Or Tuscan. *listens to the Tuscan revving*

I'm sure we'll be doing a full on track attack in something a bit faster and racier within the next few weeks...

And here's what Colby wrote in the WRS83 thread:

I know it's a lower-powered car again but I promise we'll jump into some higher-powered vehicular action next week 👍

And..
(Wk 67 anyone?)

Lovely week. Absolutely loved it. Calculated fun. We were pretty close throughout the race - until you pulled away on a tuesday-session :D

Well we had a TVR not that long ago so that may have to wait a little bit, I've got an idea for next week's race and just as a teaser...I'm currently crossing the Start/Finish line at 245km/h :sly: The car has been suggested and supported in the last couple of pages too 👍

Hope it will be driven not on racing super hard, as usually

I'm talking about arcade mode. Week 82, Cuppuccino, weight reduction -10%, El capitan, alpine A110, weight -10%, power +20%, so and so on... Why? We can control this in arcade, so what's the reason for it? The worse - we use it every arcade week...

Because it's the same situation in arcade. I can claim all day long that my Cappuccino was with 0% weight - because the replay shows only car, track and power. Which is why there are only two solutions: Make a fail-safe race, where everyone runs those "optimum conditions", where no cheating is possible, since it's already "official", or risk making "0% weight" and "No GT-mode tuning (which kinda makes GT Mode races useless)", with the risk of people cheating while others don't. Until PD doesn't fix it and give us detailed information over the car used, WRS stewards (since Cyril, because CFM used, on week 18, "Miata, Arcade mode, NO quicktune") chose -10% weight, or full-tuning apart from power.

I usually don't do rally unless someone asks me too but I found myself an amazing combo at Cathedral Rocks Trail 1 (forward) with the Subaru Impreza Rally Car '03. It would be cool to see this one raced at WRS. I only have done one rally with the series so I don't think it too common here, but worth a week of driving.

Tahiti Maze with the Impreza Rally '03!!

Or.... Costa D'Amalfi. Or the Ring. I wonder how that would turn out, a rally car for 20.8km winding through the Eifel Mountains.

Oh how I miss those days...:(

I've been messing around a bit with the Chrysler 300C. Massive car, massive power and pretty good handling for a car of that size and weight.

Might be worth looking into Colby?

Darren.

Thanks for that Gingiba, right on the money (

As for the suggestions folks, I'm loving 'em. I'm also loving the interest in rallying and the nurb I'm always up for both of those :sly:

Must be about time for a Nurburgring race again 👍.
Wedsports celica on R5's full tune. Or similar style car.

If we run GT Mode, then have a car thats not too crazy. Possibly the RX7 LM.

it smells like there is going to be a lot of rallying and nurb'ing in wrs the next few weeks. i must say 3 words about that.

i no like

but that's just me. i guess you all know by now what i do like: wide tarmac, grippy tyres, fast prod cars. more from germany please!

Chill out and relax Bigracer...chillax even. Seriously....you should look into what they say about assumptions!

No single aspect of Gran Turismo is going to be overused in the WRS, it is meant to explore every aspect of the game so don't jump to conclusions, don't post with massive fonts in the hope of having your wild claims heard and chill out! All I did was say I like the Nurb and rallying, I'm not going to post those events in some self-satisfying act of selfishness, I'll continue to post events that people show an interest in and that explore the various aspects of the game...the way it's been done since it's inception.

Far out!
