Man. I know we've already done a wet race, but my fully modded R-34 on Race tires was an absolute BLAST around this track. WOW. Kick ass drifts... Sweetness!

I say, driving this thing is awesome!!! I have my gearing setup so I can EVEN USE FIRST!?!?! :dopey: We need to have a balls to the wall GT Mode Street car on R4 or R5 tires with either an 800 or 900hp limit. Wings permitted. Probably best at a track that would give 2wd vehicles a chance. Maybe.

Wasn't that Week 68, with the added "Used V6" rule?

And a nice wet combo would be any of the Mid-engined Renaults (5 Turbo, Clio V6 MkI and Mk II) on N-tyres. Definetely fun...

Maybe? I'll go look.

That's probably why I have this car in this trim...

Damn.

There are soooo many other cars that can be used though without the used V6 rule!

Any 80s, GT Mode, 300hp or less? R3 or R4 tires.

Another one with any 70s, maybe? Get some sort of older euro theme going. Or will the muscle cars be the fastest?

The 60s and older cars are really good in arcade mode with sports soft tires... ;) ;)

Now that Jerry's in charge, with Ron, Brad might get his wish granted with that Snow race... For which I hope, too.

But an original suggestion from me would be the Cizeta 16T on S1s. I know the tyres may be a little stiff for a 580HP, 750Nm monster with a heavy rear and bad braking-habits - but boy, it that thing a joy to drive. Preferably on a wide-open high-speed circuit, where that thing can stretch out it's (very very wide) muscles - on Tsukuba, the long gearing prevents it from reaching 4h (I think, it was yesterday so I don't remember). Straight-line braking zones are a must, and perhaps something which requires lots of revving? The sound of those twin-V8s is just mindboggingly good. Once of the top-10 sounding cars in GT4...

Another one I just found: The Alfa Romeo 155 T16 Touring Car @ Citta di Aria forward, on R3-5s. I know this may sound a little crazy, but this high-revving (all the way to 12,000RPM, baby!) 4WD beast is just a blast to drive around those tiny streets. In fact, I didn't find it overly tough to keep it clean, either - and that circuit is just so interesting, flowing and beautiful - I wish I knew GT4 when I last visited Assissi.

I have a semi-flexible suggestion that could be a lot of fun (I think).

Ever want to run with traffic? I do it on the Ring quite often but that's too long of a track for the WRS since you've got to do one full lap before the timer starts for the second lap. 💡

How about a Track Meeting on a "Smaller" Track?
Autumn Ring? Motegi East?

The problem is that you can't do Track Meetings on City Courses (for most of them atleast). Everything else is like GT Mode Practice... No tire wear, etc etc...

Any way, it's just an idea. :sly:

It's just as I described it, so if you don't know, you definately never bothered to try it.;)

They just put you on the track in the same situation as free run only slightly different...

You come out of the pits on your first lap's start, run around the track for that lap without a running timer, and start the timer as you cross for the next lap... On top of that, they put other cars from that car's class on the track.

Fun for the Ring but on any track you can catch a draft or get the challenge of passing during a free run hotlap. 👍

Just think "free run with traffic" and your first lap is a never-timed warm-up.
I like to keep running a lap instead of starting over every time I mess up. :D

Basically like the qualifying proccess, only fun? Sounds cool... Perhaps it'd be nicer than the usual AI - normally, you pass 'em once and drive on. Like this, we could have an opponenbt every couple of corners... Good for a simpler, easy track perhaps?

Yeah, I'm not sure how well it could be implimented in the WRS... Never been done before and really I doubt even considered. 👍

See, my thing is running the Ring... That "N2 stock production" theme on the Ring with traffic... Fun for me, not so much for others since the Ring is literally the Green Hell for many.

In any case, once again, I was just thowing it out there for people who like unpredictable racing, spread out traffic, and hotlap practice sessions.

I used to (and still do) run various cars around the 'Ring on N2s once in a while. Favourites were the TVR Tuscan, which sounded so [insert superlative]ly good and handled like a dream, and the Renault 5 Turbo...

Perhaps we should do something like Tsukuba, a 'Gentlemens agreement' car, stock power, N-tyres (Japanese Trackfights theme?)
Or... TVRs @ a twister?
Or... Tommy Kaira/ASL Garaiya/Hommel Berlinette/Toyota MR2 on some track?

maybe jerry can post an updated version of cyril's 'cars & tracks used for wrs' spreadsheet so that we know where the holes are and what tracks haven't been used for a longer while.

my suggestion for the coming weeks:
RUF RGT (gt2 lookalike) @ deep forest on s3's in GT mode

That's something I could actually do in my spare time. Hope you guys don't mind Excel-format :)

Before this goes into suggestion overload, it would be nice to allow me some time to settle in. I welcome all suggestions, but at this moment in time it’ll be nice just to let me get on with it so I can get comfy in this new role, and once I am, I’ll be in here reading and taking onboard your suggestions. 👍 👍

I know I'm not the most regular racer since WRS became GT4-based (as in I have done the qualifying race and that's about it), but I'd kill for an open selection Arcade Mode road car race around anything (though preferably the 'Ring or La Sarthe).

Would rather the Ring here but I bet you all saw that coming. :sly:

Also, I'll keep my good stuff for later when Sphinx is ready. Until then...

Btw, glad you like that Track Meet idea KLR. 👍
Sarthe would be great for a track meet when using race cars.

The one thing for me is that Sarthe is too big for most normal cars. You've got to run something that can do 200mph on Sarthe in my opinion... Doing normal road cars is just boring there because there aren't enough turns.

The Ring on the other hand is great for normal cars but a little crazy if you do the wrong racer. Of course, I love the wrong racer on the Ring just the same (anyone remember when I was posting challenges in this thread for the McLaren F1 in Arcade mode at the Ring for a 5'26 lap?)

Any way, I'm glad to see we are all trying to help out and contribute. I'm sure it will pay off for everyone in the long run.

Shut it, you slaaags!
:dopey:

How about an arcade race in something really low powered, but with high gearing (so you don't hit the rev limiter,) like a Mazda Carol or Honda S500/600, around super speedway? Everyone would be covered by about a tenth!

When's the last time we had a race where there was a setup you had to use and everything? That could be interesting...
I'm also ready for one of those races where you do a reverse and normal track, with two cars (lotus Elise and Silvia, anyone remember?)

RFU BTR or CTR Yellowbird and Lanci Stratos, anywhere. These cars are God-like. And I want a race with the Mk. 1 Golf GTI, just cuz I just got an '82 VW Caddy which is a not so sporty version with a truck bed.

I've got an idea for week 100...
A car very obvious in the GT game, the GT LM II. :mischievous:

And... at an interesting and historic track... (Tsukuba or)the 'ring. :mischievous:

Also, let's finally do a mission week. M13 or M14 are both intersting, I could go for either one. Also, the Honda battle (M21? 23?) would be fun. Any of these would be enjoyable to me.

As far as missions are concerned, I think that the Audi R8 at Infineon is quite possibly the most appealing, not terribly difficult, and incredibly fun.

But as far as non mission races. I've just remembered that the Mazda Rx-8 (Concept?) LM car is really superb, and would be very interesting on a track like Opera Paris. Then again I could see a rally car (eg. a newish rally car) being very appealing as well.

I personally found the Corvette Showdown, in the C5R Corvette, the easiest. I did a clean run without even trying, and it's only one lap...

well since it looks like our good mate ben is returning from his sabbatical i suggest we take the aston db9 coupe for a spin to celebrate. gt mode, s3 or r1, no WR but otherwise all options. tracks: apricot, midfield or el capitan.

(sorry for the double post but the previous one has been here a long time and i want wrs guys/gals to restart using the box)

my suggestion for the coming weeks: a choice of Japanese/euro concept cars with a torque-to-weight limit on r1 tyres in gt mode at fuji '90s.

torque-to-weight ratio can be set to 2.000, choice of cars: hsc, nissan gtr concept, vw nardo, audi le mans etc.

these cars are really rarely used in the game over here at gtp and a ttw ratio means you don't look at acceleration alone in a car's character.
