Should we all turn off our mics before race start?

I think 35 might be a little high. If you ran 1:20 for every lap @ 35 laps it would total just under 47 minutes with out a pit. I have not been under 1:22 yet, but I'm slow.

If average was 1:22, 32 laps would give us around 45 mins with a pit stop

holy moly 1:22?!?!?!
I thought I was doing great with a 1:28!
and what do you mean by super touring cars??

Hey Scorpion, I shared one of my DTM cars after practice last night. Send me a FR and we'll see if you can use it for the race. If so, I can share different ones if you prefer. I'm still not sure how that online car sharing works.

I managed a one off 1:19.800, mostly mid 1:20's for qualifying tho, I've run a couple of 15 lap races on my own but just can't get consistent enough. I'm just not familiar with this track and unfortunately one off track excursion on here is gonna cost big time! Corkscrew is a killer too if you get the line wrong, which is easily done when tyre wear starts to affect braking distance, this race has me very nervous...:nervous:

Was hoping to get some practise with some of you last night, but I went down the pub for a couple of pints and ended up drinking about 8, so was a complete mess by the time I got home!!!

Unfortunately if you share a car online the person borrowing it can't use it in an online race, at least that was the case last time I tried, only thing you can do is gift it and then have it gifted back when they're done with it...

Scorpion, there's several Japanese touring cars in the Online Dealership. I've got 3 DTM's too but I'm not sure you can gift them. I tried to gift my son an Audi DTM and it wasn't allowed. It's a shame none of these cars are in the New Car Dealership. Don't bother with the Lexus, it's a lot heavier than the other Touring Cars.

Thanks for all of the help and such. I was feeling a bit :indiff: and :ouch:
but I learnt something from last night:
1)touring cars are way slower than Super Touring cars and DTM cars :scared:
2)the Lexus ISF DTM cars sucks totally! :yuck:
3)you cannot use a shared car in online races :indiff:

and yes I found the touring cars in the online dealership, thanks made me feel like a :dunce: for not looking there last night.
Right now I am kinda :grumpy: that I bought the Lexus :yuck: it made me :scared: that I could not break 1:25 and you guys were running 1:22 in race trim in a pack driving away from me.

On a side note the BMW 320i touring car can go about 20 laps around Laguna Speedway before a tire change 👍 :)

Wow, I can't believe how fast Bo, logan and some of the others were going! I'm glad I got to practice with you guys or I would be waaay off pace. Now i'm debating whether to switch cars since it seems like a lot of racers will be using the FTO.

LOL heck, I didn't know FTO's would be so dominant! For now we will just keep it the same. People (theoretically) have been practicing since the weekend and I would hate to upset them.

Maybe next time we do touring cars we can stick to either DTM or Super Touring.

The Astra handles great as does the Merc. Both work well on Laguna.
Have had a hard time keeping the M3 on pavement. Fun for crashes though! Don't have an Audi, the R8 looks to be better for long courses. Loved the Alfa in GT4, never bought one in GT5.

Lots of sand again. Suzuka deja vu!

I've been using the BMW, sounds like the FTO might be worth a look as I didn't even try it! Hopefully I'll get some time on the PS3 today so I can give it a whirl but my son is on there and probably will be until bedtime, then the mrs will want to watch telly most of the night, I need myself a bigger house so I can have a game room!!!

Well the FTO is a Super Touring car. For what it's worth, the FTO is a little faster for me than the Astra, but not by much. I'm still not sure the Astra isn't a better way to go, the FTO is much harder to handle and less than a second quicker.

I don't have the astra (thats the opel right?) so thats out of the question for me unfortunately. I may give the altezza or subie a shot.

You can get the Astra as an Opel or Vauxhaull (SP?). Same car, just sold under different name in different country.

I was wanting to use the benz as well but I figured everybody was going to be using it or the beemer. Man was I wrong on that front!

I've always liked that car going back to GT3 and GT4. It's very stable

I tried for hours to get a consistent lap time of 1:22ish with the Beemer but I just couldn't do it

Its a great car but I just can't handle it on this track. Its rear end just slide to much for me. I tried the Altezza but it can't even get up to 600 PP. If I have time i'll try the Subaru but it looks like I'll be using the FTO tomorrow night.

That has to be the first time on gt planet the words fast and logan appeared in the same sentence. But then I always have issues on race day.

I liked the Subaru, DJ. Quick and quite stable.

I've seen you go fast, especially when I'm trying to chase you down.

I usually like touring cars but I'm just not quick on this track, it's been a toss up between benz & beemer, likely to be the benz based on stability although I'm about a second slower in it, at least I'm less likely to spend time making sand castles, the beemer is almost guaranteed to spit me off at some point.

maybe I'll get a chance to battle with someone new in this race, or else I'll just be driving around frantically trying to catch you all up on my own :)

If you have the Astra, give it a shot. It's a nimble little fellow.

Anyone who hasn't voted on next weeks race should do so. Right now the vote is tied up with 3 votes each between LMP at Le Mans and Corvette RM at Tokyo. See you guys tonight
