I really hope we can use standard rally cars as well. There is this perfect ugggggly old BMW rally car I got from the online dealership I have my heart set on driving.

We got to do some testing. I wanted to run a lancer rally car but there isn't a wrc lancer

Yeah, I wanted to run an Evo Rally Car myself. There's a bunch of them in GT5. I'm thinking the Premium Focus RC is FWD but maybe not. I'm just not that familiar with this car group. Wonder if there's a list of WRC cars somewhere.

Btw, as I was running errands I finally picked up a copy of skyrim soooo I hope you guys have a great race lol

as stable as a 4' wide dwarf. lol. Man, that's some serious stable. My Ford GT, with me at the wheel, is about as stable as a U.S. Postal employee.

Man, that Brett is good.

Hahaha, hey just so i'm not misconstrued, i'm talking about dungeon and dragons dwarfs, not little people dwarfs. Also Brett is good.

Now do all those cars perform equally?

I just listed, someone else can test 'em.

Hey thanks for the list Brett. There's plenty to pick from, oh yeah.

Actually the Rally Cars are pretty impressive on tarmac.

Okay guys, forgive my ignorance but what is the sequence of events we usually run for races. I've missed so many that i'm not up to date on how we do it.

Do we practice in roadrash's lounge till 6pm PT and then jump into a public lobby to qualify and race or do we qualify in roadrash's lounge then jump into the public lobby?

EDIT:

It occurs to me that this is something I should have inquired about earlier...Damn Skyrim!!! I spent 3 hours adjusting my dark elf's nose!!!

Hey DJ, is there a mandatory pit stop? This question was brought up last night when some of us were practicing?

Good race last night everyone! NCR you would have had me if the race was one more lap, my tires were toast.

My concern last night was the frame rate. I was getting dizzy by the end of the race from the screen jittering so much. And I was only hearing half of the chat. Lets hope it was from the solar storm.

DJ, I think I heard you say something about running the mini version of Madrid? My advice, I wouldn't run any short version tracks. The unstability of the network and the close proximity of 12 racers is going to be nothing but bad news (ROME). You might want to consider the full version of Suzuka instead or the East Course for this reason

Last nights race was great, I stayed on the back of Mike's car for over 20 laps, I could catch him in the corners, but that Ford just pulled away on the straights..... FINALLY he made a little mistake, he went wide in a turn and I was able to get by him. The race went exactly like I figured it would for me, my only hope was to drive mistake free and hope for crashes by the faster cars. Other than the pass on Mike, the only positions I gained was when Envy and cb went off track.

I know you don't want to hear this... but I think we need to go back to what worked.... no mics in the race or qualifying. That was the reason we went to practice in lobby then race/quali in open room in the first place. I like the chatting as much as anyone else, but during the race it's just distracting, and there is no denying the affect on race quality.

Yep, one more lap would have been nice! Good defense RR ,my only passing opportunity was going into turn 1. It looked like I bumped you enough to upset your car and since you had entered the turn first, I held up. Sure didn't want to though! My tires held up really good, best I've had in our races.

No framerate problems on my end at all. Couldn't hit my practice lap times last night. I had hit some mid 1:27's but best qualifying lap was a 1:28.9. Probably just getting distracted.

Thanks for checking up and even if I would have gone wide or off it would have been my fault for trying to block you on bad tires. I knew I had to hold you off there. Great last couple of laps, you've got a lot of class, you could have pushed me out of the way a couple times.

I had the same issue as last time. +3 to 4 each lap. I hit the pits at 11. When I came out I was back to 30's, my normal time. Laguna is the issue.

Speaking of tires, I still had a 3rd left after running lap 12 to 27. Weird.

Kinda clueless for what to run for Madrid. So many cars to pick from...so many I don't feel like even testing out! Looks like it'll be a race for second place anyway, cB looks like a champ in the Integra.

Based on last night, I vote for no mics. I too had a headache by the end from the crappy frame rate.

Maybe for non-points races we should go with mics, for points races we go mic-less.

For next weeks race I'm gonna pick something funky.

When u guys weren't using mics during races, it made me prefer racing without mics because they are a distraction imo. Just my 2¢.

Wow! What a race! I just got done watching the replay (and taking pics) and I have to say that was one of the most clean and competitive races I've seen. Dangit was racing great and leading for so long I couldn't believe it when he was passed. Then RoadRash and NCR have a great battle at the end, I believe the gap was only .272 of a second apart!

We had a lot of battling going on all over the track as well. Boshuter and Mike were all over each other most of the race. cB had some trouble but still managed to compete. Heck even Brett and I had some fun racing.

I got most of the work done. I just have to create the jpeg of the points and Ill have them up in 30 minutes or so.

Just wanna say thanks to you guys. It was a blast.

As for the MR Challenge, I think I'll keep the short track but from here on out I believe mics off will be for the best. I didn't notice any lag, jitteriness, or glitching but a few of you did report some network issues so mics gotta go.

We will probably have mics on in the lounge before we go to the open lobby for qualifying though. To be honest, most of us don't talk during the race anyway. We can meet up in Roadrash's lounge after the race to chat.
