For the AWD race:

1. What Rally cars exactly are allowed?
2. The hp can be 396 or 404. What's the limit?

I believe DJ said we are sticking with WRC models ( see the list a few post up), I know he asked for help with testing them out, too. Some of you guys should get on this!

I'm actually going to need volunteers to test all the available rally cars to even out the playing field. It we can just go with the WRC CARS only restriction

Thanks brett, I do indeed need help testing to even out the playing field. I'm on day six of a ten day work week so I'm just really really busy. I actually just got home now. I try to practice for the upcoming race for at least an hour after I get up but by the time I get home I'm just to tired to play GT5. I usually get an hour of skyrim in at that time. No time for wife and kids LOL.

To answer the question though I figure the hp limit will be 404

With such a big list of cars it would be really difficult to test all of them or even have all of them to test. I would recommend making it a one make race using the subaru TC. Everyone should already have that car set up since we used it in the off season series.

I agree, it's a little late for testing you need at least three people with all the cars and about two to three weeks to test them all and adjust the hp and weight to make them even. The premiums are 850000 a pop. I'm sorry but I'm only buying one, because I'll never use them again. Also the premium rally cars are 300/315hp out of the box. You must do stage 3 and turbo. they are all 1230 kg

Suggestions;
1. Premium Rally cars only
2. One make with the Subaru TC or the EVO TC
3. One make Premium Rally car

Premium Rally Only. 400HP 1230kg. If many cars are allowed some may feel overwhelmed or that they are at a disadvantage if they do not have a particular car for use. With the timeframe we have testing would not be solid enough to ensure an equal playing field.

Let's go with this suggestion. Premium WRC rally cars only. 404 HP 1230kg.

Thanks guys!

In the future a Tc battle with the subie and evo is in order.

Dang, I was running the Mitsu Super Rally Car last night around Eiger. Cuz it was on the list. Back to the others I guess.
So that gives us 4 cars to pick from.

Sorry ncr, I just don't have the time (or skill) to create balancing regulations. I apologize to all that had there heart set on a car from the list.

That being said, are we going to run weather change? Vote below!

No weather. It's hard enough to keep the cars from sliding out on these tires. It would not be fun nor exciting

Correct!

My times went from 1:05's at the rally course to 1:07's when I went from a standard to a premium on the list.

That's great to hear. Glad it wasn't only me losing 2 seconds a lap.

I know I'm slow here but I couldnt understand why I was 3/4 secounds slower than Dangit in the Standard car. Good thing we are only running premiums, this could be a lot worse than it is

Just to play Devil's Advocate here but DJ's OP said "prepare to be overwhelmed with car choices" and "pick the wrong car and risk being demolished on the track". Sounded to me like doing some research was a big part of the strategy for this season. Avoiding one make races seemed like the motive.

Some of the Premium WRC cars might be faster than others. Same can be said for the Standards vs Premiums. Or Standards vs Standards. Should we limit the cars eligibility in all STC races to Premiums Only so that anyone can attain them?

It's not that big of a deal to me, I'll be happy racing whatever. I just hate to have another one make race. Of course I'm Evo biased lol! I almost hit my best Mitsu lap time in a couple Premium WRC's last night.

I think due to the level of competition and how close we all are in terms of skill, if your in the "wrong car" it going to be a long lonely race. Yes it would be nice to see a bunch of different cars on track, but given the regulations it's most likely going to be a one or two make race from here on out in this series

The problem is that we are at a higher level than before. We pretty much all know off the bat, and from past experience, which handful of cars to test and use for any given challenge. In PP races it's all about power to weight ratio. You can pretty much choose a car based on its power to weight ratio from the garage, never drive it, show up on race day and win. It sucks but it's true. I always hope to see a wide mix of cars on track but this game makes that hard to accomplish. There is really nothing any of us can do about it unless we are trying to not be competitive.

The Daytona Special Event Race was successful because of research and testing. We had to enter cars at varied HP and weight but it worked. Something game users should not have to do, but a necessary evil when we are driving at our competitive level.

100% correct. When using a wide variety of cars tested to conform at certain hp/kg to make them "equal" it also adds an extra chore for the host to let cars on track and makes pre-race that much longer.

In my online racing experience there will always be the car

The thing is this, I really enjoy leveling out the playing field to be around each other on the track while racing. The last thing I want to do is win by having an online time trial experience running hot laps out front. Why bother. When I'm successful in creating a level playing field it's very rewarding as a host. Thankful for those of you who put up with my ideas and put up with my testing instructions.
