goddamnit tis simple you can mod a car as much as you want but it has to be a PRODUCTION car production car. thats the thing. the cien isnt a production car even though you race it for some reason. and use the nissan r390 or the maclaren. they both kick ass.

I am pleased to say that I did it with the GT 05 completely stock, one of the hardest races I've ever been though 10 laps of total concentration and commitment, but boy did I feel good crossing that finish line!

Was a bit disappointed that the Cadillac Cien was not enter-able as it races as one of the "uncatchable" cars in the NY race. I picked it up from the rally stage and went straight to the track to race it said unmodified only. Mmmmm

Time to find a GT One race car for the World GT cup! :)

OMG, the supercar festival has been doing my swede in, and now i find it's ok to mod a car as long as it's a production model D'OH!! :banghead:

Time to get me some revenge......

To reiterate what a few have said (but some people still don't seem to get) is that the race says "Production Cars Only", not unmodified cars only. You can mod the car all you want as long as it is a production car (as opposed to a concept or race car). Unfortunately, the computer opponents appear to be exempt from this rule and run the Cadillac Cien and VW Nardo on occasion.

I've won 3 of the races (which I did quite easily with my 500hp Impreza STi version 6), but Infineon is completely kicking my butt on this series. I can't seem to outrun them in anything (or I get in the lead and they suddenly start outrunning me for no explainable reason) and my B-spec driver (with 4000+ bspec points) can't even stay on the track in "2 - Cruise" mode. :grumpy:

I've tried the Shelby Cobra, TVR Speed 12, TVR Griffith 500, RUF CTR Yellow Bird, '89 Skyline GT-R and my '99 STi version 6 all without luck. I haven't tried the Ford GT or Saleen S7 yet (or the Tommy Kaira ZZ-II which was my favorite production car by FAR in GT3), though, so I'm hoping one of those will be fast enough to finish this for good.

The TVR Speed 12 was only good for the British GT Cup in my opinion - too much power not enough control.

The Ford GT is in my opinion the best bet as a 'standard' car, even though you can upgrade it extensively you're guaranteed a win.

Psssst Warp3, Check post #28. Cheap, Fast & will "Own" these guys at ALL venues!👍 ...O.G. :D

If you want a great supercar that will serve you througth the entire game (trust me, i beat it), then go buy the Tommy Kaira ZZII. At 500,000 credits, it is a bit steep, but the performance is amazing. Tune it up, change the oil right away, and buy a wing for better downforce, and you will be a force to be reconded with!

It said it was modded when I tried 👎.

:) I used a RUF BTR, fully specced, downright bloody handful under braking, a bit touchy feely around corners but WHAT A LAUGH! Rear tried to overtake the font a lot at first but tweaked it so the car is a bit 'pointy' but better than stock!

All you got to do is dial out that braking oversteer and the car is a monster (rear engine/rear drive= loads of traction) out of the corners, you don't even need TCS. 👍

HHMMMMM I may buy one of those, and revisit the festival to try it out :)

Mind you my garage looks like a museum with all the old cars (60's to 80's) in it :)

Yeah, I saw your Viper recommendation...that's a good choice as well. I assume you meant the SRT-10, not the GTS coupe, right?

Old Geezer
A "Purchased" Viper with S3 tyres, Exhaust & a Chip is more than enough to handle these guys. NO N/A or Turbo Upgrades necessary!...O.G. :D

sounds good but do u mean the new viper or the one under classics ('99)

Hmm...after a few tries I sold the GT and bought the Saleen S7 >_< and beat it first try with the Saleen. Bah done with this, lol. On to GT Championships.

I tried using the Honda NSX LM Concept Roadcar w/Stage 4 turbo (1005hp), couldn't win New York...

I think I'll try the Saleen next...

you couldnt win the NY race in a 1,000HP car. and the NSX aswell. tuttut 👎

@ Yoyocrappa & Warp3 👍 Yep...SRT-10! 👍 Hopefully it should be a good ride for the New York Enduro as well! ...O.G. :D

You'd not go to far wrong, I have saved the replay for shear my "God that was hard" reasons!

If what I read is correct you can tune the car up a little to gain more of an advantage, because stock the breaks are hard to judge and the long gears can really bite you if you clip a wall wrong and your auto!

But overall a certainly good choice, what ever you do, stay away from the SLR Merc for this one, no offense to fans of it but on this race it's a dog.

I did it with the Honda NSX LM Concept Roadcar. New York was kinda close. At the last strait befor the finnish I manage to slipstream past the Cien and win. If I hadn't continuously ****ed up turn 1 I would have won by a good lead though. The NSX prototype is a really good handling car although the acceleration could be better in my opinion. I was surprized it was allowed to enter though as it is a prototype and so not a production car. The rules for this Suprecar festival are all screwed up I gues.

The only way you can truly win is racing yourself in A-spec. You have a mind and the computer does not. If you are a good driver like myself who rarely crashes you can easily win with the right car and a good setup. END OF STORY! 👍

gee its crowded in here! :P

The Saleen S7 is a good car but you do need to know the tracks in order to plan your braking schedule WAY in advance.

The Saleen S7 uses the "Democratic" braking system in which you, via the brake pedal, are able to lobby your house representative in the "Braking Management System" to pass a "Slow Down" decree. The "Braking Management System" takes your valuable and important suggestion under advisement and forms a committee to discuss braking strageties and writes a bill called "Proposal to retard the forward momentum of the 4 wheeled piloted road vehicle". The bill is then ratified by the Senate and eventually oil pressure is directed to the brakes and the car starts to slow down.

This is in contrast to the "Telepathic" braking system employed in a Group C car (such as the last test in International A) whereby the merest suggestion of a possible braking event causes the brake calipers to instantly apply maximum braking pressure dramatically bending space-time to bring the car previously travelling at 360km/h to a dead stop in a length about 3.6 times the diameter of a hydrogen atom.

Ran the Saleen S7 at New York and won on my second attempt. Would have won on the first attempt but for the fact the evil Saleen suddenly swerved off the track at 200km/h+ slamming itself into the pit wall costing me the lead and 12 seconds. I was looking in the rearview mirror and daydreaming at the time but I am sure that had nothing to do the accident... Second time out the Saleen's HP got me into second place after the FIRST corner with NO car vs car biffo. Got past the Cadillac on the second lap (should have been the first but missed my shot) and never looked back (well not after the last time when the car swerved itself into the pit wall while I was looking back at the Cadillac and daydreaming).

The car was fully modified with a complete oil change and a wicked silver paint scheme. They lubed up the engine and wheel bearings and replaced the engine oil. I considered going all out and getting the car completely detailed, vacuumed, washed in an out at the car wash but I realised that was just overkill, even though it would make the photos in the winner's circle look a little better.

The Computer cheats

I wanted to enter with the TK ZZII but it said no modified car so i enter with the Ford GT 05
i saw the TK ZZII in the race

bringing the car previously travelling at 360km/h to a dead stop in about 3.6 metres.

I think you mean seconds instead of meters.:P I think there will be never a car who can stop in 3.6 m from a speed of 360 km/h, unless you would crash in a wall and be smashed out through the window.:D

I think you mean seconds instead of meters.

It was a joke post, I meant meters. I edited the original post in order to make it more clear.

The GroupC car doesn't actually stop in 3.6 metres, it just feels that way. The Saleen doesn't actually have an entire democratic process to go through in order to stop, it just feels that way.

This is a race where you cant use modified cars but i used a fully tuned Ford GT 05 tune the car fully but dont buy the weight reductions. You will now be able to enter the race and win easily :)

Yeah I noticed that too!

I used the Ford GT (standard) for a couple of races and the Speed 12 (with 200kg ballast over the back wheels) for the others.

Hahaha, don't you mean that the Group C cars have a "dictatorship" braking system in which decisions to brake don't have to go through committees and voting? :P
