for lyoto fans, drinking pee is acceptable, and apparently this game is too. Is it true that the game doesn't work with g25 pedals, and only works in "combined pedals" mode? No support for separate axis? i'll redownload the demo or try and find someone who bought it to try it out.

I'm really just bothered that my porsche 911 turbo wheel doesnt work with the game AT ALL. no steering no buttons, nothing. Graphics good. AI are too slow and too easy to beat, even with no assists and in sim mode while using keyboard to drive.

Here are some ingame shots shrunk down from 1680x1050. other than that, unedited.

Incase nobody got my joke, Lyoto machida is into urine therapy. he said so in tatame magazine, I think.

If this is the PC demo then no it dosn't work with any wheel. The full game works with the G25 though. PS3 works fine with the Logitechs also. I's read this AI is too slow comment before and I have to put it down to the PC demo. You need it in Legendary mode, simulation. If you can drive round them easily you are a driving god.....seriously. On easy and medium, yeah youll skip past them, hard should give you a run for your money and Legendary should see you sweat.

i managed to get this from a blockbuster dvd rental store near my workplace, so
i'm looking forward to some cool beer and some hot racing this afternoon :D

price was ÂŁ34.99, but i had some other items to trade so got ÂŁ11 credit for those

i'll give my opinion in due course, fwiw :)

Does the full game support 900° ingame or do you have to set your wheel at i.e. 450°?

Normally, race cars don't have a 900° rotation of their steering wheel.

If anyone has the PC version and a joystick, can you try the joystick and see if it is compatible with this game?

What is HUD Alpha?

for lyoto fans, drinking pee is acceptable, and apparently this game is too.

I'll tell you one story... many years ago when I was 8 my family went to Africa for a Safari. One day I got sick the local people told my parents to give me pee to drink I ended up accepting but only if it was my own. And you know what====two days later I was better than ever! The moral of the story is===drinking pee is not only acceptable but it's great and apparently this game is too!

I've some friends which I got into buying this game but sadly the online store we do all our importing stuff has got Superstars V8 out of stock! Hope shopto.net gets new supply pretty soon so they can buy the game too!

This is what I found on Wiki (Xbox 360).

You can draw your own conclusion but as far as I know, Superstars V8 won't be released in the USA any time soon. It wasn't even listed on the PS3 list.

I've been playing this game and I'm very surprised how good it is! I'll write my own review after I've played more but definitely this game has handling and physics up to FC and SCC standards!

If some of you still didn't get this game and you play sim games for its "sim" aspects not just some fancy graphics I suggest you buying it! SIM mode all assists off is just awesome Arcade mode is fun and it plays more like a sim compared to Grid!

I've been paying SS V8 as well and it is a very good game. The only problem I have is that I bought the PC version. I don't have a wheel anymore, so I have to play this game with the keyboard which isn't that interesting.

I don't know if a logitech wheel, listed in the read me file as wheels that are supported, really is going to work like it should be. I read some -things- on the net that wheel support with the pc version is a problem.
I have a logitech joystick, which works perfectly with other race games, but doens't work properly like it should with SS V8. If I want to turn to the right, I can push the joystick almost to the right side without any reaction of the car. Almost at the last moment, the car turns right all the way, just like you push a button on the keyboard.

I saw the PS3 version today and I must say that the graphics on PC are much better than the PS3 version, eventhough this computer isn't that powerfull (weak graphics card).

Very hard finding this one in Dutch stores, anybody know a store in The Netherlands that sells it?

Bought it, tried it, returned it.......enough said

I'm not wasting any more cash on any other driving games/sims, waiting very very very patiently for GT5 :D .

Since the creatorsÂ’ reputation is mainly build on their bike racing games, the title will be sold for a very competative price to get as many people as possible to try their first auto racing game. Superstars V8 Racing is planned to be followed by more titles based on the Superstar V8 series, future plans for upcoming titles include a career mode, a racing school and more.

@NLxAROSA:
Free Record Shop has it on there website, maybe give some stores a call to check if they have it in store?
I checked the local FRS, but it wasn't there. Since I'm hearing really mixed reviews on this one, I'm still kind of weary to get it without trying a demo.

Maybe this will help.

I have the pc version and I love it!

The only problem is the controller. I have to use the keyboard or a joystick. The joystick doesn't work like it should. Left/right with the is like pushing a button on the keyboard. And to make things worse, there is a huge deadzone, although the deadzone in the logitech profiler is set to 0. I need to find a way to get rid off this deadzone thing on the joystick. I opened DATA (MIX-file) to see if I can change anything. The problem is, I don't know one thing about programming. :nervous:

i couldn't get in any of the game stores on release day. managed to get it at blockbuster the next day, the only one on the shelf

obviously i havn't tried the games stores since, so maybe they're stocked up now

or is there some sort of supply problem with this game?

i think its very good, btw :)

Seems to be a love hate thing with this game, Realy dose take time to get into, but if you don't get into it then no matter how much you try it aint for you. I love it as do quite alot of people on this forum. As for review scores? I seem to remember GRID getting 90% from most reviewers......enough said, unless of course you like it.

to be honest I find Superstars V8 much more challenging to me than Ferrari Challenge. Superstars V8 lacks in many many areas including online racing I definitely prefer Ferrari Challenge and SCC but I don't regret having bought this game. If you play sim mode all assists off and tyre wear on it's a great and challenging game. One thing frustrates me is the fact online you have arcade sim or custom mode to choose from but it doesn't show what assists are actually on or off!

I bought the PS3 game this week end, and i start loving this game. With all aids off it is quite hard and challenging. The only thing that is really annoying is when the force feddback of my G25 cuts out. There is no particular reason because the wheel works fine with other games. Even if the G25 is list as supported wheel do you know if this is a known issue ?

Is there anyone whom has the pc version and plays it with a Logitech wheel? I want to know if a Logitech wheel is fully compatible with the pc version.

I use a logitech joystick and it is not fully compatible. And I read on the net that a logitech wheel has some problems with the compatibility with this game.

Thanks

I have had one race where the FFB on the DF-GT didn't kick in at the start of the race, apart from that one time however it's been fine, looks to be a game issue rather than a wheel issue.

Let's hope that the future Superstars V8 racing games are going to be bug free, compatible with all existing wheels, with clutch and H-pattern, although I think that there aren't any cars in this serie that have a manual gearbox. It's all sequential, so there's no need for a H-pattern shifter. With pitstops, fuel consumption, better damage system (mechanical, electronic and visual). Day and night transition. Real time weather changes during races.

I personally hope that they won't implement a kid of career mode with a story where you have to unlock everything.

I don't know if you all know that the pc version has surround sound! Maybe the PS3 version has surround sound as well?

That's what I liked about GTR and this game. You buy it and you have all the cars and track available from day one đź‘Ť

I was trying for the Sim trophy I had all assists off including MT but I wasn't getting the PSN trophy I thought this game had some kind of bug but then I changed to AT and got the trophy. That technically speaking means if I have all assists off tyre wear on but run on MT I not sim racing I need to be on AT! Shame on you Milestone!!!
