thanks for the kind words Stalker ;)

I really like that ONF (Overtake Notification Feature) too. It ads something extra to the racing. Oh and your settings change depending on the settings of the hostlobby. If one has switched of tyrewear and damage, this is also switched of by the joiner of that lobby!

I'm online this evening :D

Yeah ill defo be on for a while tonight, ive not managed to get on for a few days.

I do like the track rubbering in, anything above 5 laps and you really start to notice,

I find you push more as the tracks comes to you, but then you are pushing on tyres which are wearing and inevitabley make a mistake.

Its a fine balance between setting 2 or 3 hot laps hoping you have built up a big lead for the last 2.....

or as i have seen, watch two clearly faster guys sprint off in a battle only to find you pass them or be passed on the last lap becuase they have ruined there tyres LOL.

Will be good to see you all tonight, perhaps we can even get a championship going. With random weather, that way at some point the track and or weather conditions will give everyone a chance.

J

p.s them marbles on the parabolica are shocking, the difference in grip is MASSIVE..

What time are you guys around tonight?

One of the big problems with this being an "underground" title is the consistant lack of online activity. Then when I do manage to join a lobby I'm also amazed by the number of 1 lap races people go for. Complete madness with everyone agressively jostling for position, barging their way through and all of a sudden it's over before you know it!

Hereward and i will be on after 10pm. id get on sooner but my other half has custody of the TV until some Glee ****e or summat finishes

Thanks GTP_ADEuk 👍, was a hell of a battle on Mugello!!! Captured video and is uploading now! This is how online racing should be! Thanks :D

Nice one G-Hound, Can't wait to see that. Can't remember that championship hosts name, began with a Z. He won every race except Monza where my mate beat him so he quit and disconnected us all...

Thanks for the races. I got my copy today and run right in to action. Sorry for being so silent, but chat sounds were cracking all the time and I had really hard time understand even things that Kurvi said, and he spoke Finnish to me! So you can understand how hard it was to try to understand English.. And of course I'm a bit sissy to speak foreign languages.

Well, at least Maserati isn't The Car :D Too bad, because you just got to love a Maserati. Numbers says that it has least power together with Cadillac but luckily it's the heaviest car to make up for the lack of horsepower. Naturally that huge weight really helps in braking too!

I agree with other bonnet view drivers. Sounds from other cars are too weak and it's really hard to keep up on what is happening around you. I use headphones when playing and even with those, when you hear opponents car, it's already too late and you'll block/crash into him. With DFGT it's easier to look back, but there's huge area on your side that you can't check at all. If a car is at your side, you won't see it. I got surprised so many times when I didn't even know that there was a car next to me. With FC and GT5P you can hear approaching car from far enough with a clear vision on which side it is, so it's easy to be ready. Sorry for all the blocks/crashes caused by me, they were unintentional. If someone was close behind me, all my time went to check the situation behind me and my driving got terrible, I started to miss braking points and so on (checking right before corner if he's going to try to overtake etc).

Braking close behind a car is really tricky too, when you see your brakemark, it's always too late. Or it happens like in wet Monza, where someone ran over those signs and there were no skid marks. So I decided to brake when Hereward in front of me brakes, and we both missed the mark :)

I do have a couple of questions, because I believe that this was my first time to drive with you guys. I thought that it's an unwritten rule, that you must keep 2 wheels on track? At least on Monza it seemed that everyone cut those chicanes straight. Second one, why so much Monza? It has lot's of hard breaking points = lots of crashes and then there is that cutting part. Everyone drives chicanes straight. There are so great tracks in this game, so why drive the one that can't be driven "fair".

Anyway, I had a great time. Seemed that there were quite a lot players from here, so maybe we could drive in a password protected rooms in the future, to avoid those crashers?

Good racing tonight in Hereward's lobby with himself, bigjizzy, turnupdaheat, vompatti and many others! Pity guys like kingchrissy behaving like monkeys ...

PS - Although my driving is still erratic at best - namely at Monza, sorry all especially vompatti that had a surprise head-on crash with my car - tonight I managed a podium finish for my JAAAG ... at Mugello :sly:

Nice vid mate that capture card certainly dose the job!

Hoste some matches tonight, half nine til half twelve! room was running with around 10-14 people and I was hosting with a 10meg conection.....no lag as I could see. I'll get this out the way first....we were visited by idiots and by cheats but thats the nature of an online public room, couldn't kick players so haf to live with it....The majority of guys though were great! clean racing and fast. Had quite a few of you guys in the races and had battles with all of you all, some of the best races were the big 10 lap ones and the wet races.......a war of atrician and taking care of your tyres was the name of the game, prety much got enough new friends on my friends list to host private matches from now on just until the idiots get bored and move onto another game. Oh and a big shout out to the JaaaaG of Hun.......battled with him for 5 laps round Monza only for him to lose it on the last lap by grabbing too much big curb......the sight of that spinning JaaaG will haunt me for a long time LOL Oh and some great battles with turnuptheheat and Jizzy along with the rest of you. The only problem I had was because I was host I had the most points so ALLWAYS started at the back of the grid.......14 guys to get through on a wet Imola is a hard task, enjoyable but hard.....had one instance of T boneing a car that had spun in front of me.....half way through the first lap of a 10 laper........it was a struggle finishing that one with all my damage lights lit up like a christmas tree LOL

Oh and Vonpatti......some great racing mate that maseratti is great to hide behind and get out the wind LOL
I'll start some private races in future, those have the best racing in them as everyone knows how each other drives.

As for the cutting the chicanes on Monza....it was a case of having to, if you didn't the guy behind who was gong to cut would just plough into the back of you, I have to say towards the end there was 1 or 2 guys who were cheating by cutting the corners, lap times 10 seconds quicker than everyone else was a bit of a give away, again public lobby, Private lobbys will sort all of these problems out. I did the monza races basicly to calm everyone down, big wide track with plenty of room to pass, not the greatest of tracks but it served a need to get people back in the right frame of mind

Did Vompatti hit you then? LOL I knew he was behind me when you span, I jinked left of the racing line, saw a flasy of your fuel fillier cap and missed you by millimeters, Vompatti must have gone right or was to busy wondering why I suddeny jinked left and started powersliding that he saw you too late LOL I think all 3 of us in that race must have toted up 15 overtakes just between the 3 of us.

Hi Vompatti nice racing with you tonight, sorry for getting on your way at Imola but that is the only track I still don't know pretty well,it wasn't on the 1st release of this series. You'll see a lot of track cutting in this game...:tdown:Last race at kyalami was the same thing.:grumpy:
I agree with you a lot of Monza, mugello and Imola but never got to play Portimão,Valência,Misano, etc.Sure I wasn't around that much time so probably got unlucky and joined when those tracks were chosen...👍

I got my first online victory in the Caddie at Magione dry:P;)

Hi Hereward thanks for hosting tonight.:tup:And thanks for earing my request of Magione:tup:
But from my POV there was a guy with pretty much lag in one of the Imola races...And for the first time i got disconnected twice from the lobby-i guess all the games have this problem...and before you ask I have a pretty steady connection,NAT 2 only this time was wireless...:guilty: but i noticed it was only me so...
I'm all for private lobbys those races could have been much more fun without those punters in the lobby...:indiff:

You probubley heard me shouting at most of the idiots LOL I di actualy refuse to start a race early on in the night until one guy left.....he did! Again, Public lobbys are at the discrecion of those entering, I've no option to kick players so theres nothing I could do, I will host private lobbys in future though now theres enough of us. I did notice you droped out of a few games and I thing it was when there were 12+ people in, I only have a 10 meg conection with a half meg upload speed so I would think that was more of an issue than you conection. Starting at the back everytime I got to "play" with prety much every idiot we had.......my finishing position and the state of my car showed this. Time will see the idiots learn or leave for pastures new, for the moment though it's the nature of online gaming I'm afraid. I tended to just take it easy for the first lap or 2 then settle into a race with whoever was near me at that point, as for tracks, most people so far have only learned the popular ones, me included, again as time goes on we'll get our teeth into some of the others, sticking 12 guys on a track where only 4 of them know it would result in disaster on a biblical scale some of them were bad enough at Imoa! I came round one corner only to be greeted by a wall of smoke....as I went straight through the middle I met up with 2 cars facing each other in the middle of it all! yep that was an instant smashed engine steering and brakes!

Hi guys
Got my copy yesterday so i'll be joining in on the fun this week-end.

P.s till those not on my friends-list,feel free to ad me.

Hey good racing with you guys despite the idiots (kingchrissy took me out on 3 occasions). Sorry if i hit any of you a combination of bonnet cam and lack of practice. Really don't like the chicane cutting in this game got taken out several times by people going off track no wonder some of the lap times are so low! But aside from that good racing with people here i might finish higher than 8th if i put some more time in. 👍

to bad I missed you guys yesterday. You were probably running quite late according to my local time in the Netherlands.

About Monza, could we define cutting the chicane. Because when I race I use the green part in the chicanes to get through them. If that is not ment to be like that please say so, I then only will use the grey track part.

So far is I've seen cutting the chicanes is really running through the grassy area ;)

Interested in your opinions/views

....puntervid is on its way :indiff:

Mornign Everyone,

Thanks for the racing last night, was brillint as ever, some eipic battles with turnupdaheat and hun and hereward. I agree about the masserati it punches an enormous hole throught the air. Put it this way my merc was hitting the limiter following it on Monza.

If you guys dont mind id like to comment on a few of the points you guys made....!!

Kingchrissy = Tosser. No other word for it he deliberately tried to take me off more than once and wasnt even that fast with all his driving aids on...

Cheating at imola. ITS SHOCKING guys with all the aids on and in the E92 were 3 seconds a lap faster than me and i was doing 1.43.1's in race trim...... Private rooms needed me thinks.

Regarding Monza, In my opinion monza's penalites are pretty accurate in terms of chicane cutting, certainly into the first one. Also they are so high you dont get any advantage from riding them unless of course you have driving aids on.

That all said i hada great night,

After 3 races i Joined Hereward at the back in every race at the start, But my best race was a 10 lapper at Imola, I went off at corner 1 to avoid Hun's JAAAAAG LOL. Got a penalty as well so was WELL LAST. anyway got back up to speed straight away, i came round the second chicane only to see what can be described as Days of Thunder, LOTS OF SMOKE at a flat out point in the track, cars strewn everywhere. I picked my line and just prayed i got through.
I ended up going on to win that race after a series of tough battles with heat and such,

Oh a big congrats to him btw he's a good 2 seconds a lap faster round Mugello than the rest of us. Fair play mate, your bloody quick.

Sorry for the wall of text.

Oh and finally i think we should start a name and Shame of the tossers.

Ill Start.

Kingchrissy
Streetfighter Zero
Zeglimata

There were some others but i cant remember there names.......

See you all online soon

J

Couple of things regarding "The hallowed wall of shame" (read that bit wth a dramaticly low and echo filled voice guys) You have to remember that guys using the G25 (one of the most popular wheels on the PS3) rearly strugle to be able to even press the rearview button, coupled with new guys and the really close racing plus the fact the slow guys start at the front with a pack of hungry grizzeled breatheren blasting of the line right behind them. There were some guys who were simply strugeling to get there cars to go in a straight line and it wasn't intentional if they wandered accross the track taking off your door mirrors LOL others had to deal with deliberate labotomy victims and a red mist apeared and to them everyone on the track was simply trying to kill them LOL Of course thee were those that would cut a corner behind you and simply smash you off the track as they barged through at mach 10, or the guys who blocked you so many times on the straight it turned into a micarbe drunked redarrows display.
I can live with the new guys and the red mist guys, to an extent putting a clean overtake on the race labotomy victims was very rewarding. My biggest gripe would be cutting corners to gain time or race position. I'm not talking following the progression of cars over the kerbs at monza, Im talking those moves where there 20 meters of the track and on the grass cutting huge swaithes out the course!
You have Adamciap on the "list" personaly I had a few good races with him, he never blocked or barged me, I did notice though he apeared to be new to the game and was a little "wobbly" when the pack was around him.

Oh and Redgate cheers for some good races mate, mixed it up with you quite a few times during the night. :)

Space left for many many edits LOL

1st edit of the morning.....back to that first chicane at Monza....and the second chicane, theres a raised platform on the second corner, it's concrete and is blue and green cutting it is a bumpy afair and getting on the power after it can be hazardous as it's quite high, the grass on the inside of that section will see you get a penalty if you stray more than a quater car width onto it. Ptrety much everyone was using these 2 setions as part of the racing line as it gave you a higher entry speed into the chicane, if you slowed down and went the "proper" way around you were simply colected by the car behind on the way in or had a car land on you from your left on the way out. I found it "safer" to follow the pack over the chicane and keep the status quo. Also you need to be aware of the differences in braking between the heavier cars and the lighter ones or you can get tangled up easily, finaly if you see the cars rear lights are smashed......don't be waiting for them to light up as an indication when to brake......it's never going to happen LOL

2nd edit of the day.....The M5 is going into retirement, it's really not giving anything in regards an edge in the corners or the straights and the brages are not that special either, the ony thing it dose well is fast corners....the last place you wan't to overtake LOL Though it dose look after it's tyres this is good only at the end of the race, not good if you can't keep in contention with the lead pack.

On that basis then i shall edit and remove admciap.

Also, i have no objections to being knocked off or barged past or punted in the wet, on the odd occasion, When someone persistently hits you though and sits on your rear qtr waiting for you to turn in, hits you and then floors it accross the grass at mach 5.

Thats where i draw the line....
