It's a '70s thing, it was the thing to do for performance on a budget back then. Pretty effective upgrade. You either love it or hate it. The group on Facebook for that look has almost 80,000 members

I suppose it's for use in the drag strip ? I see lots of muscle cars with big rear tires like that on the internet and never really like it. But not saying i would refuse if someone were to give me one.

To be honest, I think some people are missing the point of the thread. Isn't the point of the thread to post pictures of good looking cars? Sure that Z looks awesome, but I'd struggle to call huge gnarly wings 'tasteful'.

Opinions, we all have them. Those wings are obviously for function/form, so it's their function that makes them beautiful and tasteful. Some $100 ricer "spoiler" however, is not tasteful. Which kind of makes you wonder why some drift cars have spoilers as tall as buildings, but I'm not complaining.

It's an oil cooler. Homage to the racers back in the day. The style just stuck in the resto-mod area.

I never really liked that front end as much as the normal one, but everything else looks nice. Maybe a little over widend though.

Yuck. the rims are horrible, and the front flare imo dont work. and the rear is too wide.

I agree. Apparently the GT-R does frequent highway runs. Maybe he needs the extra grip for the sweepers.
