They're really keeping the TDU spirit alive by having a backwards thinking publisher making stupid decisions. If anything, I think Atari taking it back would be an improvement.
Eden Games was the developer, right now they are Ivory Tower and for the moment The Crew Motorfest would be the true TDU sucesor in paper.

I'm sure the engine hasn't been fully optimised atm but the frame rate kinda makes it look like a slideshow of The Crew 2 right now and I don't mean in the dorifto sense.

Is it just me or is this just...profoundly awkward?

They're having fun but that doesn't translate to anything at all, really. :odd:
If the game doesn't look good in its current build why not try to fake you're having fun. But yeah, they even failed with that. I suspect the game will have a tough launch, even without having to directly compete with other new racing games from the same quarter.

Why are the roads as wide as Forza Horizon?
I imagine it's a creative decision to give room to the racing. Tight roads are great for realism, probably not so great for multiplayer racing.

Edit* It's just me, but I find it funny one of the content creators is already labelled a "Guru" for a game that hasn't had much at all revealed.

It gave me Midtown Madness x NFS MW '12 vibes in a good way.

However, nothing has sold me on this game. Other than the map containing seeming large areas of urban jungles (that is missed sorely in FH), there isn't anything that this does better than FH and TC. Ofc you can say headlights, indicators and windows, but even with the options for convertibles in FH5 and even GTA V, i rarely use it.

Overall, better than expected, but doesn't get me hyped much. Could be mindless fun, not much beyond that.

I looks like a FH clone, which is a bit sad considering TDU was the first open world racing game. I hope that they keep the actual car buying experience from the first two, with all the interior and wheel options. That, and the driving challenges where you have to deliver things, really set them apart from the Horizons and NFSs out there.

I refuse to take this game seriously until they implement full VR on the Switch version. It'd be so awesome and leave other racing games in the dust.

lol hyukk hyukk :dopey:
Did someone leak screenshots of a racing game the Battlebit devs were working on? Or is this the second coming of that Roblox TDU Parody Driveblox Unlimited? 🤣

It looks okay although extremely barren for being Hong Kong, not to mention the choppy frame rate.

I hope all those copy and paste skyscrapers are just placeholders.
God, does it look awful. I think it's the first time I feel sorry for that pantha dude.

It's a joke, so far.

Actually, its not as bad. I could see potential for decent AA game. Crew/Horizon level is unachievable, but NFS... Still need some killer features, I can't see any reasons to buy it with two very big GAAS titles. NFS, at least, has cops.

I figured Roblox would have the appropriate image quality to illustrate how a Switch VR title might look.

That presentation left a lot to be desired, the best I can say is it happened.

I see potential for some fun gameplay, but I'm not sure it'll be that deep or long lived. Likely a pass for me.

I was heavily hyped for this game but after seen this gameplay video... I'm worried and concerned.

Everyone was crashing and badly driving clearly because the physics are just crap. I know TDU 1 and 2 were kindra arcadish but this one feels just wrong, just like The Crew 1. I don't want to struggle steering my car into a simple turn.

What is the selling point of this game again? They're not bringing anything new or different. This is the first time I didn't bother to finish a game presentation. So the video presentation is about playing the game in multiplayer with friends? That's it? so original to come up with such feature... when it comes to multiplayer they will be crushed by forza and even the crew. They could've focused on what made tdu so special, which is the experience of owning a supercar and driving in narrow roads and exotic places like tdu2. Instead, they tried to create a hybrid between nfs and the crew. The driving physics looks awful and the world looks so dead. Since when Asia has large and empty roads like that. I knew this game will be a flop but I never imagined it will be this bad.

I never really expect GT7 level graphics for this kind of game but come on, this is supposed to be next gen only. Gameplay wise, nothing that makes it sound revolutionary enough that they have to ditch last gen. The only hope is they make the handling realistic enough.
Been saying this since March and it looks like the graphics doesn't improve at all.

Also, seriously though, why does everyone keep crashing? Why not get someone who can actually play?

Edit : I guess I'm blind, it says captured on Alpha version. But still this doesn't hype me at all. Hopefully the final product sold me.

Clearly the developers were scared into action after The Crew Motorfest released gameplay footage. Perhaps I'm getting ahead of myself because of the name but I'm sold on it. For an alpha build this is promising and I know that the complete game will be something special. Forza Horizon 5 is good but it's not that focused with a lot of corny stuff on the side that I do not like. This game looks to be a more grown-up package that isn't trying to be edgy or stupid.
