Edit : just launch the game to see what was the solar pass, seriously ??? low cash and stickers /cosmetics ???
This one is free, but I never pay for something this bad and pointless, even free I felt cheated

This is a nightmare

I don't have too much of a problem with the game being online for a while as long as Solo driving Vs. A.I. would be do-able not too far from now.

Great, so on the PS5/XBSX it went from looking like a PS4 game with broken lighting to looking like a PS4 game. I can't believe how low-quality that still looks, esp. compared to a modern AAA title like The Crew Motorfest or even an indie title such as CarX Street.

Is it any better on PC today? Especially considering I can run both The Crew Motorfest and CarX Street on a ROG Ally with decent settings and get 60FPS?

No

Has drops to 30 in the rain race, 40 in wet areas or in races. 50- 60+ in normal free roam.

This is at 1440p 60 lock at ultra with DLAA on a Ryzen 5 5600, RTX 4070Super, 32GB DDR4 3200MHz Ram on a 1 TB WD Black NvMe.

The recent update only increased the frequency of the drops and introduced new stutters in "social areas" like the HQs and dealerships where you walk around.

The real question is : could the game be saved ?
Regarding my experience on PS5, I've stopped playing it, I will boot it again when some other patches landed and when Ibiza will be out, so in december...

Off topic, but I found the upgrade system completely off, bases cars are pretty good, but once it gets upgrades you loose the "identity" and it feels generic, what do think of it ?

Well...about Nacon,its on sale
The source is from a french article:

If they know it's a failed launch I wonder what they were expecting? In terms of player numbers it did a lot better than I expected.
They may have had high expectations due to the history of the series and then inflated the numbers to secure investments. And then they overestimated their technical capabilities and completely ignored the negative feedback from the demo and their decision to go pvp only.

And it's not like they made a small mistake that happened to have big consequences, or an unfortunate event of some sorts. This is a massive cluster**** on multiple fronts. They didn't meet the bar of previous TDU titles, they didn't meet the bar of other current games (hell, they even got outclassed by a friggin' mobile-to-pc title with knockoff cars sold for a bargain-bin price), they botched the launch, they're likely not able to fully fix their performance issues, and then we read above about their finances, it's just one big ball of management failures.

I just hope it doesn't affect some of their other titles that are in the works. I'm kind of interested in that terminator game they've just delayed to 2025.

I really, really wish Teyon made Solar Crown because it very likely would have been faithful to the nth degree and then some.

As for what's possibly happening to Nacon, well, you see where my concerns are. As long as Teyon makes it out of this we'll be alright.

So....there are peoples who said the article might be fake news, either i got fooled by the article or the article says its true
Weirdly enough Nacon has massive debt of 140 millions of euros (public source you can found)

What a mess...

Kinda feel bad for those who bought the Gold Edition.
I do and I don't. I do because the game is a shocking mess and that's a lot of money to invest in a turd. But I also don't, because it's KT Racing, which is a red flag in and of itself. It took them 5 games and a year off to get the WRC series to a level where it wasn't a hateful mess. Even then, 10 and Generations had issues that had been ever present in the series and not fixed, and Generations was abandoned after 2 months, it's a miracle the multiplayer still works. So to invest that money into a game developer with a pretty poor track record, was not so much risky, as much as idiotic.

Yeah, I said kinda because I don't want to offend those who bought it lol

But agreed, this is another reminder to spend our money wisely, especially on stuff like this.

So is this game as much of a joke as it seems to be to me ?

I really despise these sort of games...
Too arcadey.
I have no patience, nor the motivation to build a fake virtual life
.. what a waste of time..., maybe i have totally outgrown them...

Need for Speed
Forza Horizon
The Crew (MotorFest)

TDU SC is Hard pass for me...
Hope you guys enjoy it more than I can bare to even watch it...

What a joke of a game:

I had it in favorites section in Playstation Store for purchase but after the reviews... i removed it...
I've failed with many "great" games that in the end turned out to be big flops...
Except Gran Turismo and Grand Theft Auto games i always wait for reviews reactions etc.

The people on YouTube who hyped it up like it was the second coming.
I dont know and dont want to know how many of this were getting paid to get their words out - either by the companies involved or strictly because of usercounts clicking their channels, but online praise shouldnt be what a purchase decision is built on.
Better would be the lack of vocal criticism.

I'm not going to say TDU SC is a good game, but this sort of attitude is why the racing game scene is such a snoozefest these days. Arcade racing games have their place. If you don't like them, don't play them, but blanket arcade = bad judgements are just ridiculous.
One of my favourite games ever is Midnight Club 3, and that's VERY arcadey, so I agree with you.

I think you may have spoken wrongly on my behalf or misunderstood my post.

Did I say arcade racing games = bad judgement ?

I don't think I said that.

What i said and wrote in my previous post is my opinion, whether right or wrong, are my current personal view point.

You may love it, these sort of games, i am not criticizing you or your choice.

When I was younger 25 - 30 years ago, I was into these things, because that's all there were and I loved and enjoyed the first couple Need For Speeds...

As car people and video games enthusiastz, we all go through it.

They are "dumb" mindless fun (still my opinion), that nowadays I have no interest in putting time on.

Having said that, since last year with the news that TDU SC was going to be released, I honestly was rooting for it and excited and curious with what that will come out with...

Seeing the implementation now, it's definitely a let down.

I just realized that the team behind it, especially the creator is French.
Being French myself, I really want this game to succeed.
I am rooting for it... But this is ta case of: easier said than done.
They have the:
Right mind set, right desires and wishes, I understand what they are trying to do, but it comes out short.. not standing out from the rests. (Again, this is my opinion)
I can see some of you disagree on this point, and that's ok with me.

I personally have tried getting back into this genre over the years...
I really miss the joy and fun i had while playing NFS 1-3 and Porsche and Hot Pursuit etc...

But for over a decade now, with each try, the games just couldn't convince me.

I got burnt 3 times now:
1) A few years ago, I bought the Crew 1 and 2 and Grid all on sale from PS Store
I boot them up and barely was able to play 5 hours until i realized they are not for me, wasted my money.

2) The Crew MotorFest, I hated while testing it.

3) And now this, looking at it, I personally have no interest, it doesn't have what I am looking for nowadays and everything i hate.

Forza Horizon (I wish I could try it but I never was in a Xbox ecosystem)

TDU SC is a game for 14 to 28 years old i feel.
Hopefully they fix all the issues and you all can enjoy it, and have as much fun as i had with NFS.
Wishing the team much success.

As for me, I clearly outgrown these games.

Yes and you just reiterated that in more words, using usual talking points, like arcade racing games being for kids. About as good of an argument as people saying Super Mario games are bad because cartooney graphics are for kids.

I'm not saying you have to like arcade racing games. As I said before - if you don't like them, don't play them. I don't like sports games, but I don't go on EA Sports FC forums to say the latest game is bad because it's a football game. In a similar way, TDU SC has plenty of problems, like the large number of bugs, poor performance and questionable design choices. The fact that it has arcadey driving physics is not a problem.
