Four laps brought splits of 51.260 - 1'32.791. I like driving this car here, but it remains to be seen whether that will hold true when I start demanding perfection from each corner. :ouch:

Edit: After a couple more laps, I set a lap with splits of 51.173 - 1'32.517, and then spent quite some time fruitlessly trying to beat it. I am usually ahead of that lap in T1, mostly by .05 or .1 but by as much as .182, but even though I know that I've taken the hairpin .1 or .15 faster and feel sure that I can take Spoon significantly better, I always lose that advantage by T2. Once, I was ahead there by .088 but took 130R one MPH too fast, causing the right rear tire to graze the dirt on exit and spinning me violently. Obviously, if I make any gains during the rest of this week, they will be slight.

I'm not going to ask you to go into detail how did you manage to lose a second and recover it afterwards.

Anyways, though I dislike this track, I will race here with the M5. A shame to have lost last round, hopefully I will make it up in this one. 👍

Oops! :ouch: Thank you for pointing out the typo. 👍

As usual, I doubt that the Corvette will even finish within a second of the M5s, but I think that it is fast enough for third place.

Having a good time on a track that I know well. T's are where I would expect them. Once again I'm not good enough to get the best out of what these cars have to give. Will run one more time on Friday.

stidriver & Austin are once again making all of us who didn't use the M5 look like fools. :ouch:

This is my first real clean lap, the other one I was driving Miss Daisy around.

T1: 52.591
T2: 1:34.779

I should have T1 down by around 0.5, T2 should be another 0.7-1sec because I took it cautiously up to the straight, and T3 I'll improve by atleast another second because my driving around 130R and the chicane was absolutely appalling, I should be atleast 20km/h faster in both corners.

Not doing well here at all. First time racing at this track in about a year.

Splits are not good, T1 is somewhat close to others here but T2 stinks:

T1 - 53.671
T2 - 1:37.277

T1: 52.296
T2: 1'34.084

Roughly half a second to a three-quarter left out there if I can get the car to cooperate and tighten my line.

Cheers
Corey

Man, don't tell me I have to go a bit faster to make you eat my dust AGAIN??

Once again, have at you!! :D

Last week was a farce. It is this time you shall recognize defeat via four iconic circular tail lights. ;)

I don't use the M5; I'm in Jetboy.'s Corvette. Lucas is the other M5 driver.

I will probably submit with my current times, even though there are some really ugly moments in my lap, such as at Degner 1, where I braked mid-corner because I was going too fast, and at the hairpin, where I braked too late and ended up taking an awfully weird line. But it's just too hard to find that speed elsewhere on the track.

Austin343, stidriver. I just want to tell you both good luck. We're all counting on you. 👍

Can't be bothered to race. Honestly, I think I'm disliking this game with every day that passes. I may start hunting A-Spec points one of these days...

Put this man in an M5 and I bet he'd be a better contender. His performances are about 70% driver and 30% car.

Cheers,
Corey

G'Day all,

Just in the process of submitting my times, a bit early but will not get another chance before deadline as I have a long weekend to enjoy ( also my PC is really giving me some grief and I may well lose the use of it altogether :ouch:).

Anyway -
T1 - 52 . 771
T2 - 1 ' 36 . 190
I cannot see where I can improve much let alone 2 seconds as some seem able to do. I am not driving that poorly so I suspect the Corvette is just outmatched.

Considering there's about 4hrs to deadline, you're not really early. ;)

Just highlighting this so Jetboy knows his car is a bucket in anyone's hands EXCEPT for Austin. :P

Off for my final run.....and considering I've only had 1 chance to really drive this week, expect me to use EVERY LAST SECOND before deadline to get my times down.

I'm probably going to submit with these splits cobbled together...

T1: 51.275 (.021)
T2: 1'33.061

Horrible from T1-T2, but I nailed the corner after. I've been too busy getting ready for a new school, that I only spent 100km on it this week. :(

Edit: wait a minute... Jetboy has the deadline as 5pm on the 25th, which would be 3am on the 26th where I live. So that's 27 hours. Yet Mafs is saying the deadline is a day earlier...

I'm confused. :indiff:

Viperin is driving for MCG, not JHOS. There are 2 Corvettes in this competition. ;)

But yeah, the car isn't as good as I thought when I built it (put it together in a matter of hours to make the deadline). The car just has alot of understeers that did not show at the tracks I tuned it at originally.

The Viper has flaws too. It handles well (for the most part, the settup came from my 1000+hp S3 tired monster in my garage) but feels sluggish for something with 620hp. I was definately too conservative with the gearing on this one.

Anyhoo, I am terrible at this track. Going to make one last effort to get a better lap before submitting.

*imitates Simpson stonecutter episode to "it's a secret"* Shut uuuup. :P I just wanted to heap 🤬 on Jetboy. :D

macca, it was my mistake, I've been used to the past 2 weeks being Monday 3am deadlines for us. 👍

T1: 52.254 (have gone 52.0 though already)
T2: 1.34.395 (have already been 1.33.8 but screwed last chicane)

More attempts coming right now, I should see another second off easily after seeing Macca's times, and the fact I'm still driving like a sook. 👍

mazdaman, what car are you using? Because that's a pretty fine T1, but you've lost a little time in T2.

I'm going to give this another shot today, as I just don't feel satisfied with my time... I can probably do 1/2 second's improvement at T2.

I'm sorry, mazdaman, but I don't believe those splits for a second. You are not as fast as stidriver, and even if you were, then it would make no sense whatsoever to suddenly lose three seconds in the second sector. You need either to stop conjuring times from thin air or to stop posting here.

And if you simply made a typo and meant 52.934, then please disregard what I just said.

Unless that T1 is a typo for '52, those times are very in-congruent, as you lost some good three seconds you otherwise had. In an Aston or Speedster that aren't quite up to spec. Please explain.
