Would be a great idea for a new thread!
I am sure lots of people would be interested in all sorts of measurements.

We need to know a couple of things then per car:
Pedal distance from each other.
Pedal throw.
Distance between the pedals and seat mount/sliders.
Distance from edge of the driver seat to the handbrake.
Distance from the edge of the seat to the shifter.
Distance between the shifter and handbrake.
Height of the steering wheel measured from the floor panel up (when adjustable in lowest and highest setting)
Height up till the top of the center console where the shifter is mounted, or up till the shifter plate. Measured from the ground up.
Slider travel distance.

I think that's all we need to know including pics to make our rigs more accurate. ;)

I have a 2012 Shelby GT500 to use for some measurements. It is a natural feeling ride.

Nice ride. I have a 1999 Lancia Delta HPE 1.6 16v little car with 103bhp. So I doubt people would be interested in it. ;)

No Logi, it is not mine. I have access to it to get some measurements to post. It belongs to a buddy of mines daughter, she won it from a talent show here in the US. American Idol.
Back on the shifter topic:
If we can get some basic real life figures to post, then we would have something relative to go off of. I did not realize at first that was what Owens was refering to. Very good idea from him. I am still kind of new to this sim racing stuff. So when someone posts something, sometimes I think it's brilliant or I just don't get it till later on, lol.

When I grab a Evo X for example with the settings in options to (Realistic, Power steering - on, FFB - 10) and play with (Tract. ctrl - 1, ABS - 1, rest - off) or without aids it feels the same way as I hear Jeremy Clarkson describe the car in this video:

I'll have to chech that out. Which tyres are you using?

That Clubsport Wheel is indeed every sim racers wet dream, no doubt about it. One part of me loves the T500 RS (which I owe for about a month now), but another part regrets it already that I didn't wait for the CSW.

I haven't heard read much about the CSW. Will it be higher quality and more realistic feeling in GT5 than the T500RS? Do you have any links where they talk about it? Of course I could always google.

Lol! We all are slow sometimes, it's not just you. So please don't worry about it. Just keep asking questions if you don't get it. We won't bite. ;)

Nice that your buddies daughter lets you have access to such a sweet ride for that though. Although now I want to watch American Idol on YouTube to see the car and the nice girl who won it.

I the standard tires I think. Sports hard.
When I drive and use different tires it's race soft. But that would compare to how JC drove it. So I think I used sport hard then for sure.

There isn't any information available until after testing by me and other beta testers is complete. And I haven't got a wheel yet, so what I wrote there are just my expectations made upon the specifications, the videos, and the built quality. They look heavy! Plus the quick release looked really solid and forcefeedback smoother then the one of the T500 RS that I use now.

On a side note, Thrustmaster gave me another facepalm moment. I was set back again to half November.
Never ever again will I get a Thrustmaster device via pre-order. Maybe not even at all. 🤬

Looks like an awesome shifter :) Long lever might be a problem, when finding a good place to mount it, but other than that it looks great.

True, wish we would have the ability to shorten the rod some for a short shift setup.

Could also be that the knob coming with it doesn´t screw all the way up inside the knob which should give 1-2 centimeters of play if there are other knobs that you can screw all the way in.

Shortening the shift rod would be as easy as slice and die. Only with SAE threads for us yanks though. Then a nice custom leather boot to spruce things up. Oh yeah!

It looks great, but sounds not so great in my opinion. I dislike that hollow metallic sound it makes.
Also nice for Shaun to mention the adjustable tension, but now we still don't know how big that difference is. And the other stuff we all could know from the specifications sheet. I think this review lacks detailed information.

I am disappointed in Thrustmaster though. I had the Ferrari F1 wheel before ISR, but now I still have to wait till halfway this month. I ordered it at the same time as the wheel though. I do note that I changed shops by encouragement of Thrustmaster, but only to get a mail from the shop that they won't deliver till also half way the month like my other shop.
So yeah... the French company does things with what we call in the Netherlands "met de Franse slag" which means something like doing things half heartedly or neglecting some things while doing something.

Ah well, can't have it all.

Watch from 1:00 he says the shifter only works with T500. 👎

He says the F1 wheel works only with the T500 RS. The TH8 RS does work with the T500 RS he says, but is actually a standalone shifter he says.

So watch again and listen more closely to what he says. :P

Oh never mind, in GT5 it's only supported with the T500 RS. That SUCKS!
That rendered the whole marketing of it working with multiple wheels rather useless, except for pc. But they could have made that clear at an earlier point in time. :S
I hear a lot of people canceling their order or sending it back.

Especially those with a Logitech or Fanatec wheel that wanted to use this. The Fanatec customers will probably have to wait for the ClubSport shifter if they want something equal to this I think.

I have to contest what Shaun mentioned as a con for the shifter. He said that it was a con for the shifter to have its own USB plug, but if it didn't then - on the PC - you'd be forced to use a T500RS in order to use the shifter, defeating the versatility of being able to use a stand alone shifter with any wheel you want.

not if you are a hardcore pc simracer.. ;)

We were talking about PS3 compatibility, Simracer92. ;)
But yeah, anything goes on the PC as long as the game supports multi-usb.

He's probably of the opinion that it is better to have a system like with the ClubSport Pedals. Having a usb port for versatility and a dedicated wheel own brand support ps/2 port, so that it will easily work with any system.
Unfortunately for him, the T500 RS doesn't have any more holes to put a plug into so it had to be usb. :S

But yeah, I agree... weird con.

Shifter looks beyond amazing, I'm going to have to rob my piggy bank to get one for realz. The GT cars I drive in iRacing all use a stick in real life (well Ford Mustang GT for sure)

Not certain about the Riley prototype though. Maybe that one is the sequential paddles attached to the wheel

*OP updated btw, thanks guys for the heads up bout the ISR Review. Shaun did his thing on this (almost at the end of the vid, its d/l slow for me)

I hope you'll enjoy. ;)
I tried iRacing yesterday and it's a good game, but it's not my kind of game. As in, I don't like that it's purely American orientated for the greater part (i'd like to see more balance in that) and the fact that it's so expensive. :ill:
I'll use it for CSW testing and review probably, but after that... no more iRacing for me.

I think in America they call it Half Assed! lol

Ah! Thanks for clearing that up. I guess Americans like full moons huh? :dopey:
Anyhow... it all could've been coordinated better from Guillemot's side.

It can be very frustrating .........Girlfriend has ordered me a TH8 and she's more stressed out about when it gets here than I am lol Though the wait on delivery of the T500 was very testing!
Can't wait though, going to build a new rig for it ( v 2.0 ) Something more polished and that looks professional. Build in speakers cup holder etc lol

Sweet girlfriend, but tell her to stop worrying so much... it's bad for her heart. It comes when it comes and it will come eventually. ;)

I hope we'll be seeing pics here from your build in progress? But a cup holder on the rig. Ehm... liquids and electronics. :ill:

I've thought that through. Yeah I'll definitely post pictures. Only thing I'm still unsure of is of mounting the PS3 in the side walls of the wheel rig....worried about vibration. Main reason would be to hide cables and usability. Maybe use some kind of padding. Any thoughts??
