I dont think there's an M9.. Do you know what it is in inch or mm - or maybe i just open mine up and measure the shaft diameter.. (of the TH8RS)

fred, I got my red delrin (not sure if they are the same as what lathewerks state as "copolymer") the price is similar from www.productinnovations.com but even thier knob is too big or too small for th Th8RS, they only offer M8 or M10 thread size, whilst the Th8RS is on M9. <-i hotglued inside
hence the pool ball , since this guy do it custom for me, he even ask how deep the hole is.
but driving that knob with the stang felt really belong. it'd be good if it's a Hurst or tremec, but both brand only carry M10 sizes

This is the link to the site:

The threads are an M9. Oddball yes, I stated this many threads ago. On the release day of the shifter I thought it would be a standard metric size but no. You can only use a custom threaded knob or a Universal fit with set screws.

yup that's the one. sorry didn't mean to mislead. but don't have the link on hand. normally just googled and got there.
yeah the mm is 8.8 something I cant remember now, I've put the picture in this thread somewhere

edit: if I have a dollar every time this question is ask.... :D

Shifter came in the post this morning. It is a real thing of beauty! Cannot wait for the T500RS to come so I can give it a blast.

Mine came in the mail today. I accidentally had it shipped to my parents 2 towns away :dunce::dunce::dunce: So, I will not have it until tomorrow after work to use.....

I had the CSR shifters by Fanatec. While the nice, heavy duty aluminum knob was great and all, the lack of a properly made/built base to accept the constant use of shifting was NOT up to par. After 5-6 months, mine started to miss 2nd, and 4th gear shifts when put into the respective gear. I feel a corner was cut to make a buck on those shifters.

IMO, the Porsche shifters were built to last longer than the CSR. This is based on integrity of design. While the CSR H-Gate looks nice, it was not built to stand a test of time.

I am just astonished in the difference of quality, having owned both G27 and Fanatec gear/shifters, the quality of the TH8RS is staggering. The contactless technology is superb to say the least, no annoying clicking noises every gear and it just feels so smooth.

Literally need a wheel now so I can start properly enjoying it!

When I first got mine the first thing I said to the misses was "this is way nicer than I thought it would be". Kinda nice to get something that gives that reaction. That doesnt happen very often. You may need to add some grease to the moving parts inside after a few weeks to get rid of the mouse squeek, but it easy and gives you a look at the internals.

Mine started getting tight and grinding feeling. Shot of lube in the hole that you tighten the shifter resistance. Actually used a straw and shot a few shots in there. Some gear shifts and it was better then new. Had to tighten the screw up some so it had a lil resistance. Amazing lube freed up what was kind tight to just silky smooth. Now smooth and and feels really good.

Really like the TH8.

Yeah I thought about spray lube. I shined a lite in the hole and seen they used grease so I decided since I had some bearing grease in the garage Id take it apart and use the same stuff. All does the same thing though just lubes it up.

What used was basically grease is a can. Lil lighter but heavier then say WD40.

Got to get one, you have sold me. My metal-clad plastic shifter's shaft snapped a few days ago.

Anyone have a good suggestion for a good box to put the InterfaceOne into thats available in USA?

Anyone interested in meeting up for a h pattern shifter race?

If so post up and we will then decide on meeting time.

As well was wondering if anyone would have interest in a drag racing competition. Require honesty or video proof.

Just some ideas putting the shifter to good use.

The wisest $149.99 investment made on my sim racing venture to date!!!! Very well built and constructed, built to last! Plug and play, that easy! Going to get DSD plates for it shortly. Woohoo!!!!!!

Going to be neat down the road to see what Thomas has to counter this thing with............

Hey guys, my shifter is finally here!

I'm sincerely surprised at the quality, weight and feel of this thing. Plus, with the short gate, carbon fiber and aftermarket knob the thing is a real looker! Here are a few pics as promised. :)

Very nice, like the SiR style knob too!

I bought the shifter used from a fellow iRacer. The short plate he ordered from Phillip Yip (comes without the carbon fiber) and I don't know where he bought the knob.

OT: I'm also in GDL. :)

Thanks Jogo, I think it looks sexy too. :)

I'd be interested meeting for a shifter race, great idea

You're right, although the red coloring on the H shifter pattern seems to have been painted by the previous owner and not prepainted on the knob. Either way it looks hot. :dopey:

He may not have painted it, lots of variations of this style for sale.

Either way looks good, and that's what I'll put on mine when I get it as well. :)

Enjoy your new toy.

Would clutch be required or just using the Th8RS? I'm crap at downshifting with the clutch.

Preferred we used clutch at all times. How do you downshift with out? Us have to use paddle to get back into non clutch mode. Just down shifting no clutch from using clutch to shift up results in missed gear.

Was kinda thinking we all would develop better skills using the clutch an shifter.

Highly recommend chasing some heal toe videos. Helps a ton!

What time / date you guys wanna meet up?

I have a couple of simple questions about this shifter that I think I already know the answer for, just looking for an owners' opinion as the SRT video did not quite answer my questions:

Is this shifter official GT5 like the wheel and does it still have the issue of not being able to flatshift like my current G27?
