Are they actually capable of reviewing the replays of those outside the regional top 10? If they dq those people, the top 10 will scream to dq 11-16...hence the dilemma..

Exactly, which is why DQ'ing people is not an option. I see 1 of 3 things happening...

1. Madrid is replaced by another track and we get less than 1 day to run it. (Not likely)
2. Madrid is thrown out the window and only Rome times are used. (Possibly)
3. Nothing will be done about wall bouncing and some people will get screwed. (Most likely)

I'd probably agree with your scenarios. Oh and by the way I never posted in your other thread to thank you for the video of cape ring. Just watching you helped my wheel etiquette enough to advance into the second round and despite my flaws I felt watching you and blindside really made learning trailbraking much easier.

When you time is uploaded in to the server, so is your replay. I've noticed that some times the progress bar works slowly. I would imagine the more detailed the track is, the larger the replay file.

I think its hilarious actually. All round 1 the cry babies were complaining about lawn mowing and ethics and blah blah blah, and now that the officials have done something to cater to their needs now they cry about how they have fixed things. The way I see it its not the people who have been cutting the course that caused these changes, but the people who've been bitching since day one about cutting the course. It seems they got what they wanted.

Bottom line though, people should realize it doesnt matter what bounderies we place on any given track, the faster people will always be fastest. If its faster to cut the lawn at a certain turn and your lap time doesnt go red, then thats the fastest line. If you dont want to cut the grass because of ethics, then that means you dont want to take the fastest line and most likely you wont be posting the top times. Evidently cry babies are best are crying, not finding the fastest line...

why dont you get yourself on i racing and see if thats goes through. Youll be the crybaby in last struggling to drive a REAL simulator

As for the cheaters, Whatever, I was 8th this morning and only .400 seprated me and 1st and now im 25th due to all the cheaters. Atleast ill go down knowing i didnt have to make my self look like a complete jackass trying to win something youll prolly never advance in. Theres gonna be some severely jacked nissans at silverstone they way they are letting ppl in the top now cheat. Thanks PD

IMO, iRacing is a joke and their whole business model is backwards. I give you a monthly subscription for just a handfull of cars and tracks, or I pay PD ONCE and get loads of cars and tracks, but to each their own.

As for the topic on hand, I'm refusing to even compete in the GT Academy now. I feel like I'm on a schoolyard again trying to have fun a recess and the teacher keeps making up new rules so we have to start over again and it pisses me off because recess is no longer fun!

YA! You tell em!

BTW, I've been driving "clean" in round2, I just choose nnot to cry about it.

So basically when did having ethics mean someone is a crybaby? I see no crying I simply see people saying these guys wouldn't be anywhere near the top if it wasnt for these wall bounces. All of this wouldnt be happening if it wasnt for these cheaters. If you want to sit back and take it then fine, but you dont see me calling you a b**** for just taking. Iam sure you dont care since you have think you have no chance anyway and with that kind of attitude Iam glad, but dont try sit at your PC and say people are crying. What gives you the right to such a insult?

Mmmmm, the fact that your entire post was just a bunch of crying. :D

I actually think I have a chance, despite the wall bouncers, if I can get some good time in tomorrow. However, even if I make it to Orlando I plan on declining because I couldnt take the time off, so thats why I may seem a bit apathetic. I sugguest you go back to the page of which that last guy dug my quote up and form a quality opinion about the bitch fest. You'll find I actually blame the officials for this fiasco, but I also enjoy teasing everyone whos crying about the track changes since, in reality, this is actually what they wanted. Anyways, cry more?

Can anyone post a video of these wall bashers as im extremely confused. I've hotlapped around Rome, Madrid on the seasonal time trials and yet didn't see one replay where someone wallbashed. Confused why its happening on this GT academy but didn't occur in the seasonal time trials.

I didn't have a lot of time to devote to round two, so the course resets hit me pretty hard. I had driven only briefly on Indy before that reset, only briefly on Toscana before that reset (loved that track), then only briefly on Madrid before the wall bouncers came along. I'm not the fastest driver out there, nor can I pick up a track/car combo very quickly, but I can usually get within spitting distance of the leaders if I have the time. I enjoy comparing my skills with the best.

But now, why bother? The people at the top of the leaderboards aren't racing enthusiasts. They're video gamers. They got to the top by exploiting video game mechanics, not racing mechanics. Why would I want to follow them?

Good luck to all the racers who make it to round three!

How lame. Very good to see the kind of drivers that will have a shot at being a "pro." I bet these lame-o's will definitely get shut down at nationals. Or then again, they might use other drivers to bounce off of in turns.

I can't believe people have actually debated corner cutting and wall bouncing. I know people like to debate for the sport of it, but come on there are limits :)

It is unquestionably wrong to use those techniques in this competition. It's an academy for 'the real driving simulator'. In real race driving you can't do those things so it stands to reason you shouldn't be able to in the simulator. When the F1 guys use the simulators for training and testing they stick to what they would do in the real world otherwise it has no purpose.

The problem here is that PD have left such gaping holes in it and I don't understand why. The game has systems in it for detecting collision and corner cutting, I don't remember any of this last time around with the world wide academy, was it just that no one exploited it that time round or was the game engine better?

And the people complaining (or whining if you must) were well within their right to. But the way it was handled was shocking, rather than put them self out by checking the laps for bad driving, something that could have been automated, they instead decided to make everyone participating suffer because, and I suppose fair enough, your time doesn't cost them anything.

Corner cutting is just not confined to games, it happens in real life events, if the lines quicker then it gets used

That's rally not circuit driving. In a rally it's about getting between checkpoints in the fastest possible way with no other cars on the track. In circuit racing and time trials it's about the fastest driving within a defined track layout.

They do the same on circuits, you ever watched BTCC at Knockhill??

they have all 4 wheels right off the track straight lining a chicane because it's a faster line.

Demoted to 3rd for corner cutting even though he gave back the place it was still deemed he gained an advantage from the illegal cut.

Yes, but they had dirt tires, and rally courses are not nearly as rigidly defined as circuits. Now find me a video of someone bouncing off a wall to gain a 1/2-1 second advantage.

I didn't mention wall running or bouncing.

wall running boils my piss, my biggest gripe with dirt2

Every car totally cutting the chicane all 4 wheels on the dirt no penalties

Everyone gets it - real life race car drivers will do anything to win, including cut the course or put others and themselves in danger. Also, sometimes this is allowed to happen.

Would that kind of cutting be allowed in qualifying? That's really a closer environment to what we have here, instead of an actual race.

Also...still waiting on that real life wall bouncing video.
