The 20 tracks issue is really bugging me

Does anyone else remember that Kaz once mentioned that he would like to make a real Trial Mountain track if he had money, time etc, that it was his dream...
As I remember I think he mentioned that in an interview between GT2 and GT3, but I can't find it on the internet...

It's regularly been associated with British and UK events in the GT games, there's nothing anywhere in Gran Turismo that tells you where Trial Mountain actually is, it'd be a suprise if it was supposed to be in Britain because we're not known for that type of scenery and the fictional GT tracks obviousely take inspiration from somewhere. But with it being fictional they could say it's supposed to be based in any country I suppose.

Thats what I thought, but I was unaware of the British events it was associated with in GT2. So I can see why people would have thought it was in the UK.

Well, first of all, Germany has forests. Second of all, many of them are very deep. I think that proves Deep Forest is in Germany. Case closed.

Haha, well can't argue with the simple no nonsense logical approach to your theory. I don't really care where it is, it's pretty awesome regardless.

I remember taking photo mode shots on that track at the last chicane bit before the straight. If you hit the little mound on the right it would get your car some serious air and almost look like it would roll even though can't happen in GT.

Was a good bit of fun.

Nope, and nor did I know that Famine mentioned it before either. I guess there are now at least three chances that a real Trial Mountain might happen ;)

I know I said that once, but I'm not Kaz.

You spent so much time with GT4, writing guides and tips for the GT4 section that I was actually considering this possibility...However, as you can speak english properly and kaz doesn't, you must be his english-talking lame counterpart: The Translator guy.

Back in my GT2 times, I considered Trial mountain as a British track at a first glance too, as well as Midfield Raceway was in Japan in my nonsense understanding. Obviously related to the national championships in GT2. Thanks to the Internet gods I knew I was wrong and didn't fail in a public forum like this .

Deep Forest looks like rainforest, I guess we don't have any of these in Germany. Maybe Central America or South America. :)

Not to mention the monkey sitting on the tree branch outside the first tunnel. As far as I'm aware, there's no populations of any wild monkey species in Britain. :P

I am reminded of the episode of Top Gear where they quote an angry response from the Morris Marina Owners Club...;)

I read that it would have 20 "Locations" (Countrys? Citys/Towns?)

And then 70 variations of these locations, so lets say the rumor of the Tuscany road track is true, a variation of it would be maybe the Rally Tuscany.

Country UK could be Rally Wales and a variation of the country could be Silverstone.

Its a good theory.

What, thats not a good theory at all. As many have said before in a few threads not to mention this one, variations most likely refers to different versions/layouts of one track like Fuji Speedway with its two variants plus say its 90's and 80's editions. Or Suzuka with its east course version.

Highly doubt it means 20 countries then 70 different tracks or even with 2 or 3 variants of those tracks that would be a total of 1400 tracks, yeah right!

Wow! 20 countries with 70 tracks spread out in those 20 countries. Not 70 tracks in each of the 20 countries.

Yeah I'm hoping it's just 70 tracks spread across 20 locations, for example:

Location: Japan
Variations: Suzuka, Fuji, Twin Ring Motegi, Tsukuba, Tokyo Route 246

Location: America
Variations: Indianapolis, Daytona, New York, Grand Canyon

Location: France
Variations: La Sarthe, Opera Paris, Spa, Cote D'Azur

Location: Britain
Variations: Top Gear Test Track, London

Location: Italy
Variations: Tuscany, Costa Di Amalfi, Rome

Location: Switzerland
Variations: Swiss Alps, Eiger Nordwand

..and so on and so forth. Might just be wishful thinking but it seems like that would make the most sense IF they were planning on having every track from GT4/GT5P/GT5 promo videos.

He obviously meant the actual Great Britain, which only includes England, Scotland and Wales.

Zandvoort doesn't have monkeys either, even though there live some on the Antilles.
However the Antilles are in fact another country. That country is part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands but it's not the same. Let's end this here though. Don't want a lot of this silly talk.

Interviewer: "What new circuits and cars would you like to recreate in the new game?"

KY: "We haven't announced what tracks are going to be included in the game yet, so it's hard to answer. We're definitely having the Top Gear test track though and we will announce some other stunning tracks soon!"

Good lord! There's that word again.

Spa is in Belgium.
