Man, I know where I'm going to move to!!! :D

It's better to live in the northern suburbs like I do, I can snag a house for next to nothing around here and I won't run as high of risk of being gunned down in the street. Michigan isn't a bad place to live if you can stand cold winters, hot and humid summers, crappy roads and no employment .

I suspect it's a combination of a lot of things, including ridiculous real estate speculation, sub prime lending, and certainly a failing automotive industry, among other things.

How about these figures for the average home prices in Detroit:

Oct. 2007 = $185,000
Oct. 2008 = $25,000
Mar. 2009 = $18,000
Today? = :nervous:

90% drop in just 17 months.

That particular area started clearing out by the household already in 2006. Not nice.

Just found a couple shots that I forgot to post from a while ago. Random Flickr browsing, but they are very summer-like, so I thought they were a propos.

Not really cool or amazing, but a picture I took yesterday morning of a McChord jet we flew from Ramstein, GE to Tallil Airbase, Iraq. Around 0200-0300 if I remember right. Flew in to drop off some pallets and HUMMV's, and then got re-tasked last minute to Al Udeid AB, Qatar to pick up 2 "high priority" medevac patients to take to Ramstein, GE.

Yeah, really cool one. Did you use a tripod or placed the camera on something to get that one so sharp?

EDIT: Wow: 4,5secs exposure. Not handheld, that's for sure.

How do you know? Josh is actually an Air Force robot. He's the original face-as-avatar fadster.

No tripod. I was laying on my stomach on the taxiway holding the camera as flat and firmly onto the ground as possible.

A decent tripod and remote is something I need to invest in, though. Oh, and I need to learn how to actually use my camera better.:dunce:
