the Apex magazine

That's what I'm wondering about too, specific versions. Hard to say what we can expect then. My guess right now is 100 pages of english, 100 pages of french, 100 pages of cars for the NA version. Europe may get 100 pages of english, and 100 pages of cars if theirs is only 200 pages.

Do you have any source for that?

The theory booklet coming with GT2 years ago (which was quite nice :)) was translated in other languages, at least I know it was german here.

Since you mention that Tiberius, I believe the reference manual with GT1 here in Canada only came in English. I'll have to check when I get home.

I posted this on Latest News thread

I wonder, as Sony now translates every first-party game in Europe in the country's native language, would it be too far fetched to think the Apex magazine could come in different languages depending on the country?

It's quite remarkable that in the tuning settings it talks about pistons, burners or head gaskets... are we going to be able to buy different types of those pieces for our cars in the game? In that case, the tuning is going to be very very complete.

That is from Chapter 3, so maybe!!

So looking at the page numbers, we see page 220 and 221 of the car index, and that's only under A manufacturers, so that's the start. Is Japan confirmed to get a 300 page Apex book in the CE?

If so, Europe most probably will recieve the same Apex magazine, as I said, there may be different interpretations, if there are 280 pages, US must've approx. it to 300 where EU said they were 200+ page, and they are both correct so seeing this makes me think Europe will get the same as Japan and US because the Japan CE is the same as the EU CE this eliminates the theory that US are getting a bonus for not having SE.

Sorry but I'm pretty sure that the Apex magazine in Europe will be like scope72 said before:

Personally, I think the real answer is not going to be very popular. The Apex book is 300+ pages in the U.S. because it will have the cars and tracks. Where as in Europe it will only have 200+ pages because the coffee table book will have that info.

So, my assumption is that if you live in Europe and you want everything that will be in the U.S. edition... you will have to buy the Signature Edition.

The reason I think that is simple. It basically says it on the site.

From the UK Site:

Collector's Edition
• 200+ page ‘Apex’ driver’s magazine with hints on driving technique, car tuning, future technologies and more

Signature Edition
-As well as the game, the ‘Apex’ driver’s magazine and the ChromeLine car pack, you’ll get:
• A Signature Edition coffee table book featuring the beautiful cars and locations of Gran Turismo

From the US Site:

Collector's Edition Content Details:
-In-depth 300-page car-lover’s guide written by the experts at Polyphony Digital, covering everything from the history of the modern automobile to driving techniques and game reference material

Then again, the Collectors Edition in Europe is significantly less. So, it's not entirely unfair. But I guess thats easy for me to say.

The cars and tracks list will be exclusive of the Signature Edition and the Apex magazine will have 200 and a few pages aprox. according to the previous images. And I'm pretty sure too that it will come only in english for all Europe :( .

The japanese Apex magazine will have 308 pages according to Yesasia:

- 特製ブックレット（308ページ） <===> - Special Booklet (308 pages)

You say this even though there's proof on this page that theres a car index in chapter 6 of the Apex book............

I may have missed it, but I thought all of those chapters were taken from the Japanese version.

If you look at the dimensions of the pages though, it has to be the Apex book. The coffee table book has a landscape page layout, where the Apex book is more like your typical magazine (portrait) page layout. Looking closer at that car index page, the top corner does say "Apex (The Gran Turismo Magazine)".

Like scope72 said that chapters index is from the japanese Apex magazine, that according to yesasia.com will have 308 pages, and probably will be the same for the US version, but I'm 99% sure that in the EU version the chapters 5 and 6 will be exclusive to the coffee table book of the Signature Edition :( .

Right, but that photo of the cars... was taken from the Japanese version. And both the U.S. and Japan, do not have the option of the Signature Edition. The CE is all the only option we have.

Both the U.S. and Japanese websites state 300+ or 308 pages. The European version says 200+. Then the Signature Edition has this mysterious coffee table book. And when you look at my post that was quoted above... I am copying and pasting from the official site. And as you can see, it kind of spells it out.

However, this is of course my opinion. No one seems to have an official 100% answer about this.

All I'm worrying about is the CE since the SE isn't available to me directly. If the SE was available here and priced reasonably, I'd consider it. Until then, CE it is, there's no SE content running through my head.

Same here, since thats all thats available in the U.S. and really all I want. :)

That post that was quoted, was just me trying to ease some of the confusion for my fellow GT'ers across the pond.

Until November 2nd, we are all still confused over......well..........the entire thing. With the amount of content, there's ALOT of confusion, lol.

SCEE deals with the European countries stuff, I'll e-mail them as they must understand this better than Sony Portugal as they face problems from all European countries, I'll see if I get their mail in the european PSBlog.

JToipa, did you get any response from SCEE about this? I'm still undecided whether to cancel my CE or regular pre-order, and the Apex book is pretty much the only difference that I'm interested in.

I had not the time yet to contact them, I may send them my e-mail tonight.

Does anyone want to help me write my e-mail?

EDIT: It's unbelievable! I cannot find a SCEE adress to send my e-mail.

Done, I sent my e-mail to SCEE to this address: help@uk.playstation.com and I contacted SCEA through this form: http://us.playstation.com/support/ask/

SCEA with one of those confirmation e-mails replied after I sent in the question saying that my question will be answered in 24-48 hours, SCEE said that in the next 24 hours I should get an answer from them.

Excellent, thank you. Sorry for not responding to your request for help, I'd gone to cook dinner and missed it.

Sony, or at least, Sony Computer Entertainment, won't handle the translations of a book. This is most likely outsourced to a book/magazine publisher. Or handled in-house at Polyphony (though I doubt it).

The Apex book will probably come in the language of the country its ordered in.
