The needed Grind is just way to much to do every single week. To unlock the car in Main Stage, you'll need about 500k XP if it is in Level 3 and 2 Million if its on level hundred. Thats about 65/260 playlist races @ 5 Minutes each. So ~6 to 24 hours of non-stop racing to unlock it.
Mainstage is monthly event, not weekly.
I don't think it is stupid at all. The level system in TCM is actually very convoluted. If I wouldn't have watched some videos before, I wouldn't know either. I like TCM a lot, but that system or structure of it should have been made more user friendly.
System is great, but UI is horrible.

As someone who played the entire 5-hour trial on PS5, I absolutely loved it. I loved the first Crew and was "meh" on Crew 2. In Motorfest, the graphics, weather effects, grippier handling, event variety and streamlined UI (from Crew 2) are great.

But will I buy the game for $70?

I need help with this because Ubisoft games are notorious for dropping in price rather quickly and Black Friday is right around the corner. I can see this being on sale for $39.99 or $29.99 at the end of November.

Wish the trial had been 10 hours, but Ubisoft played it wisely. 5 hours was just enough to make me feel like I need to buy the game right now.

Can't decide which one of these looks better

I'm in love with this but I will definitely buy it when it's on sale because like what you said, they are dropping in prices quite quick. I'm not competitive enough to care about the weekly events or the summit. Most of the cars that I like I can buy it just by grinding and even then I'm in no rush.

Just finished the trial and really enjoy it, grind seems ok when there are playlist to go through. I finished 3 playlist and got up to 700k but so far I haven't any cars to unlock a playlist. I like the photo mode too, spent quite a lot of time in it. The new graphics is fantastic compared to TC2.

Will definitely get it when it goes on sale, want the Gold edition for the 2 exclusive cars and skipping the grind for all the year 1 pass cars.

After 13 hours, 10 Playlists done and a Summit test run, this game is a blast! My first proper Summit run will be the Ford GTLM, and I should have at most max Epic parts for it. Legendary parts are sprinkled in sometimes, but I just need more points to raise up Goldfinder.

Fun fact:

As you probably noticed during the beta test, some of the "DUB-style" rim textures have been slightly changed in Motorfest.
The most notable of these is this rim. This rim, which looks like a turbofan, was a weird DUB-style rim with red swirls texture on the TC2.

In Motorfest, removes the red swirl texture and turns it into just a cool black turbofan.
Of course, this wheel isn't a pure turbofan, but it's a welcome replacement for players like me who couldn't get a turbofan-style vanity in TC2.

Also, in TC2, we were able to create a similar look by painting this wheel black, but this time there is no need for that, so you can change the chrome silver part to your favorite color.

Just wondering, after the month ends and the mainstage changes, is your legend xp reset? I hope not... I mean, I like keeping the numbers going.

This game has some potential to do a hillclimb expansion.

Also would not mind some Lemans Prototypes. If we can drive a Redbull F1 car on the open road its not far fetched to get some Lmps in the game.
I hope they bring them for Motorfest, been hoping they will add Le Mans Prototypes since TC2 but I think they will be too quick for touring cars and not fast enough for F1. Hope they will add as a new class.

Yep, seems worth it if it's on sale.

They warrant their own class to be honest.

Prototype Class or Racing Protos or whatever it is.

Both legendary and timeline does. Its needed for rotation of rewards.
Oh well, I might sound a bit cringe but I got my car stats log on my laptop, Every 100,000 25,000 xp or so I get with one I'll give it a self-calculated ''level''. Quick edit: I round the bucks and XP to numbers of 5. I also count the displayed KM/age and win count.

When I do that I only count my owned cars and not multi-car events. ;)

About that ingame mailbox in the driver profile, does anyone of you had anything in there yet? I don't.
But I have seen TCM videos where players have up to ten mails in their inbox.
Just wondering what kind of mails that would be. I have already done lots of stuff, almost all playlists etc.

Parts after you class storage gets full, same as HC container in tC2

I played about nine hours yesterday, plus a couple hours Friday night. I don’t feel like I wasted my money, so that’s a good start. The cars are fun, and the landscape is stunning. I don’t even mind the arcadey driving physics. The AI’s chirpiness is actually kinda infectious. The playlists are usually fun (outside the awful Donut Media one which makes me want to punch James Pumphrey, all seven million of his YouTube subscribers (in alphabetical order), and everyone at Ubisoft and Ivory Tower responsible for putting him in the game.)

Outside of Donut Media, my biggest issues are the truly awful user interface and the use of multiple currencies. The UI should make things clear. Instead this UI confuses and obfuscates. And why so many currencies? Bucks, Crew Credits (which looks like a microtransaction cash grab), and Ubisoft Units? Simplify, Ubisoft. Simplify.

R3V
Are you affiliated with the devs/publisher?
Nope, just saw post of someone who fill his parts storage 🤣
awful Donut Media one
Gameplay in playlist isn't bad, like it more than what Horizon did. Just mute voices while playing it.

Looks like short escapes is best way of leveling car parts level. One part and 1500xp per 20-30sec.

Three kinds of XP.

What a good game huge improvment from crew 2, this is even good enough to put some pressure on the horizon franshise
The only thing i dont like about it is the upgrade system for the cars its not terrible but it could be more unique for each car like both forza and gran turismo

Well I did just about all of the 5 hours of Motorfest's trial and it motivated me to want to the full version. I tried it on PC, but decided to get it for my PS5.

Honestly, I liked it enough; it felt like a nice improvement over TC2 between how cars drove, the visuals, and also how much faster the load times seem between menus. TC2 took forever for me to switch to photo mode from free drive or to go to my map. Here, I select map and it pops up immediately. Oh and I think the frame rate might be better.

By the looks of things, finishing all Playlists (not fully complete) would take around 24 hours.

I just tried the trial. Didn't even do the whole 5hrs with 2hrs left in the trial I think. It's quite a good arcade racing game. I did a couple of races with my G29 on PS5 and honestly the feedback is great on this. I can see myself having a lot of fun cruising around in this game. That being said, I want to get either the ultimate or the gold edition for this but I think I'm going to wait for a sale. Good fun, never played any of the crew games before.
