The new physics are good and all the rides are fun. Therefore, I get more joy and enjoyment of racing than in TC2.
However, I still sometimes miss the stunts and pursuit style events that Motorflix offers.
Although these events were not suitable for grinding, they were good content that could be enjoyed casually as a break from racing.

Cover wheels and this would be LMP
I think it will still need a bigger front end, it is still too "F1" with this front bit but the body area do looks similar enough for a fictional LMP.

Motorfest don't have as many content, I guess they will have something similar to those in a few years. The game does seems quite barebones on the multiplayer end too, lives battles are missing and seeing reddit mention that cross platform party don't exist for a always online game is odd.

I played about nine hours yesterday, plus a couple hours Friday night. I don’t feel like I wasted my money, so that’s a good start. The cars are fun, and the landscape is stunning. I don’t even mind the arcadey driving physics. The AI’s chirpiness is actually kinda infectious. The playlists are usually fun (outside the awful Donut Media one which makes me want to punch James Pumphrey, all seven million of his YouTube subscribers (in alphabetical order), and everyone at Ubisoft and Ivory Tower responsible for putting him in the game.)

Outside of Donut Media, my biggest issues are the truly awful user interface and the use of multiple currencies. The UI should make things clear. Instead this UI confuses and obfuscates. And why so many currencies? Bucks, Crew Credits (which looks like a microtransaction cash grab), and Ubisoft Units? Simplify, Ubisoft. Simplify.
Every time I launched the game during the trial period and saw all of the events and things available I suddenly felt 1000 years old. Is this what gamers want now? It's so confusing to figure out what everything is!

Luckily the gameplay is fantastic and I'm really enjoying all of the race types I've tried so far. I'm not a fan of the AI voice, or the characters who constantly talk at you during races, but the rest is great. Now just let us skip the "car unlocked" cinematic please, Ubisoft.

Summits and Mainstage monthly rewards are time limited, everything else not. This article is complete bull**** because of wrong wording, stick with my tread at GTP(progression systems) for reliable info.

Well, he lied about ability to buy parts. Nothing about Summits and Mainstage.
Ok thanks, I got confused because it appeared on the screen where you pick your next playlist but now I realise it was a live event. All gd

Has anyone managed to get stormy weather with lightning in a custom race? I've tried a few different events with the time of day with the little bolts but the weather looks pretty normal. Rain works fine and I've seen stormy weather plenty of times in freedrive. I haven't tried an EV custom race yet, will try that next

Every legend level will be converted into legendary point after Mainstage reset.
Oh dayum, that is good to hear. I saw people who are at the top of the leaderboard are already at 200+. I'm only at 6

You can get thunderstorm weather at evening rain setting IIRC and it's pretty brutal weather, I love it!

Also, I think I've asked this but is there a way to unlock offroad tyres for non rally cars? I'I'd like to put some on the street evo x
You might if you have a vanity tyre it won't make it any better offroad though

This game it seems a lot more of the events are locked to certain cars/brands 🤷‍♂️looks like i might import my cars sooner than i thought i would i was going to do it tonight and the server cut me off lol stoooopid maintenance

Iron Grip and Water Slowdown reduction affixes are good for offroad and for any car. ;)

Questions for anyone who has brought thier cars over, after having played a bit.

What happens to the cars i have gathered in my play so far?

I heard that they come over stock. Is that in all ways or just performance? Like what about custom parts, liverys, and vanity items?

I have a decent collection in the crew 2, but if they are stock performance not much point bringing them over asap. And honestly it might not be worth it at all, to me, if they are 100%stock in every way

They are stock performance and the custom livery you had got stripped but the visual parts and custom colours you applied in TC2 will remain when you transfer the cars over.

Have just started playing it. One good thing over previous crew games - you can actually confirgure the controllor lay-out to suit your preferences! That's a bit step forward!

Played for a few hours on the trial.

I like it, but I think I might wait til' it goes on sale or has more of its incoming content added down the road. The physics take a little getting used to, braking & getting through slower turns feels like a mix-and-mash at times. The game is clearly arcade, but making it through a turn slow in without locking up and getting back gently on the throttle is rewarding like a realistic racer, but there's times the car doesn't translate feedback and the tail end just wants to suddenly kick around. Not difficult to regain, just loses considerable speed. Which is a bit weird because this game seems to also emphasize drifting through turns ala Burnout style in some instances. The AI is not too difficult on 4/5, but feels like there's some rubber banding to the player's benefit. The AI will start to put distance on me, but will encounter corners where they'll slow down that you can carry much more speed through. AI is also a bit rough at time, having had a few encounters of them just banging into me coming out of turns as if I'm on their set path. Additionally, there's a couple courses that bug them out, causing them to crash or make a turn where they're not supposed to. Had it happen during one of the Japanese races & during the final Porsche 911 head-to-head race.

This game's graphics really shine everywhere outside the urban area during the day. It's not awful, just noticeably bland compared to the majority of the island that's much more rich in color & lighting. Cars all sound amazing, with attention to detail on the exhausts crackling & popping off the gas. The car list definitely has some real gems in it, but I also wouldn't mind if there was a little bit more thrown into the mix from each marque besides Lamborghini & Bugatti. Didn't get to mess with the modifying, but I already know they've done a good job really building out the aftermarket options.

I personally don't think this gets one over on Horizon, but I think it's a welcome challenger to the open world racer genre. Thanks to its location, it definitely has the nostalgic feel of TDU1 just blasting through the environment. I think it's a really good game on first impression & worthy of a pickup down the line since I know I'll be dedicating time to FM '23 here a couple weeks. I'm eager to see what Ubisoft adds over in the mean time.

SR1, SR2, Racing, Rally, RallyRaid, MonsterTruck maxed out, 5 playlists done, all timelines completed, legendary lvl6, Summit position <5000 - all in 25-26h(~6h of pure grinding of parts).

And by maxed out you mean max part level, not all gold sets, right?

Well, I am at level 48, everything maxed besides Motocross and Demolition. Probably 4-5 hours of pure grind, the rest was going through the playlists. And I just have a few gold parts for every vehicle category. But nowhere near having a full set, ideally the loot digger set. Actually, loot digger parts seem to be the rarest of them all. Overall I have about 40 gold parts. But just two of them are loot digger.

Any part grinding tips? I’m just redoing summit Rally raid races with my Jeep Wrangler EVO1 to get new parts. SR1/2 I got parts mainly from playlists

Sure. According to Akor, gaining full Gold parts(not sets) for one class is few hours of grind.

I am at 10, currently.

The probably quickest race for faster cars (street 1 or 2 and above) is the second race in the scenic tour playlist, the one with the kombi thumbnail. In custom race, this can be done in way under two minutes and is more on the easy side. Only hypercar AI is pretty hard, even on lowest difficulty (which probably makes no difference in terms of collecting parts). But even if they get ahead, you will pass them at the end of the long full throttle section because they can't handle the first tighter corner and go off in to the green.

Edit,
sorry not the scenic tour, it is vintage garage and there kiss me kombi.

So far I am liking the game, the handling is definitely an improvement over TC2 as the cars feel like they have more weight and aren't so 'floaty' as before. I also find the way the playlist are setup to be interesting as they kind of force us to drive cars that we may otherwise not look at twice; though at the same time I can understand why someone would be against that format. The only thing I dislike is that for some of the cars have to be purchased despite not being used in the playlist and the fact that we cannot sell cars or have duplicates.

so ive been playing since launch, and instantly went for goldfinger lucky godrolls on my hypercar parts to try and farm golds, but i havent gotten EVEN ONE gold hyper part. what am i doing wrong?

There is an option that lets you make those playlist events as custom events, I bought a RB14 just before my free trial was over, used it in one of those custom settings and all of the AI opponents were also on the Red Bull F1 cars, the race was pretty damn wild.

Nothing. The game is just extremely parsimonious with gold parts.
Some guys on youtube presented their full gold sets, all six sets for... I think it was street tier 1 and 2 and racing and hyper.
They said that they had to grind for 20 hours (per vehicle class) just for the full loot digger set, which they then used to grind the rest of the sets.

Its random and chances aren't high. Sometimes you don't gain any legendary out of 30 parts, sometimes its 2 in one drop.

Is it only me or is TCM very well polished in terms of bugs?
The only bug I noticed so far, is sometimes when restarting a race with an electric car, the car sound is missing. Usually just for a few seconds. But otherwise no crashes or any weird stuff. I runs extremely well on my PC.

Silent car bug is a thing when quick swap happens in GRace. Physics could produce odd situations and there are minor lags, but overall its very polished.

The silent car bug happens in the Supercar Blondie Playlist too. If you pick any of the electric cars, finish the event and go back to Freeroam, the car you were in will be quiet. However, it doesn't effect the Finale with the Mercedes.
