A football match takes place between the Gotham Rogues and the Rapid City Monuments (some claim this rivalry is bitter; others believe it is simply a regular match). At the kick-off, Bane detonates a weapon that destroys most of the playing field, killing all the players but leaving the grandstands untouched. Some extras claim this was an "earthquake bomb", others say it was a conventional explosion. It appears to be some kind of ground-penetrating anti-infantry weapon, one that disrupts the local area, but leaves the infrastructure untouched. This part is perhaps the most unclear, probably because a large part of the scene will be digital trickery. You can understand the confusion and uncertainty, largely because the crowd weren't told the specifics of the story, only what they needed to know.
After the explosion, Bane appears before the crowd, announcing that the "instrument of their destiny" is before them. There is a large silver sphere of some kind that gets wheeled out, with a hostage escorted out. He is apparently some kind of scientist. I'm guessing he works for Wayne Enterprises and developed the "earthquake bomb". There is apparently some kind of explosion, and the scene called for the extras to evacuate the stadium. Three Tumblers also made an appearance, though some people claim they were only being showed off for the crowd while others claim they are a part of the scene because "Bane stole them".
As for Bane himself, Tom Hardy did several takes. Sometimes he was leaning towards an Hispanic accent, but on later takes his voice was raspier "like an old man". When Nolan made THE DARK KNIGHT, Aaron Eckhart filmed all his scenes post-disfigurement twice: once as Harvey Dent and once as Two-Face. The scenes were then combined to add to Two-Face's instability (when he confronts Sal Maroni, Harvey Dent is speaking; when he's in the bar with Wuertz, it's Two-Face). Nolan may be doing the same thing here.
