That is still CGI. There is no picture of earth that is not CGI.
Why? Just because it's in a digital format? It's still images taken every 30 minutes, put together into a video. Exactly like what I've done with some construction sites:

Does that mean that building isn't real? I've been in it, so...

It could be a polaroid picture for all I care I just want a real picture.
So it needs to be analog? Somehow I doubt you'd believe that, too.

Earth and Polaroid are capitalized, too.

It's really not...

You said you wanted one, you were given one. Your response is "there is no picture"... "I want a picture". You're denied the existence of the proof you're asking for, so of course you'll never find it. Someone could go to space, take a polaroid (those exist still right?) and hand it to you and you'd say "there is no real picture, this is CGI, I want a real picture".

Go to antarctica (not now, like 6 months from now) and report back.
That said picture can be put into photo shop to reaveal it is photo shopped. Don't we have a Hubble telescope? Isn't there a space station up there? I can't get A single real picture when both of those supposed structures are up there?

Wrong again. I still think you are messing with us. Nobody can be that stupid. Sorry!

CGI = computer generated images. The video @TB posted are images created using some kind of 4K camera mounted on the satellite. So, the images are created not by a computer as you suggest but by a camera. So, no this is not CGI. It is an animation by editing a bunch of photos taken by a satellite.

Ok, go put any frame from that video in Photoshop and reveal that it's been Photoshopped. I'll wait.

Edit:

If you don't have Photoshop, try GIMP, it's free.
I said the picture was photo shopped not the video. The video is CGI.

I said the picture was photo shopped not the video. The video is CGI.

The video is a series of photos. It was generated with a camera. The photos are shown to you in a successive fashion called an animation (or video, or time-lapse).

Come on people, look at a picture or a video from outer space of the Earth. That's all you need to know.
That's not gonna work, given this guy's line of thinking. Obviously photographs can be tampered with so I can at least get why he writes them off so easily.

With that said, there's still an overwhelming amount of tangible non-photographic evidence that still says he's wrong, as previously mentioned in this thread. Earthquakes, phases of the moon, the curvature of the earth actually being visible in certain areas, etc. The list goes on.

I said the picture was photo shopped
Okay. So us how it's photoshopped. We'll wait.

I said the picture was photo shopped not the video. The video is CGI.
You do know a video is lots of pictures shown one after the other right? Surely nobody can be as ignorant as you appear to be. Any answer to how gravitational lensing occurs yet?

Haha, I can't resist. If you're for real and not trolling or messing with us, I now understand why you believe the earth if flat. You are gullible.

You won't even believe us if we say that it is not CGI. I think you don't know what CGI exactly is. The video is edited it is not CGI. Because somebody uses a computer to edit a video, doesn't automatically mean that the video is created by a computer, in other words, CGI. The video was edited using real 4K photos (not photoshopped photos). You could easily make the same video using old school editing equipment without the use of a computer. Make a digital version and upload it to youtube. But you probably say it is CGI because it is digitalised. :ouch:

You need to look up the definition of CGI.

Oh, man I'm loving this thread. Eventhough I still think he is not legit and making a fool of us.

(Why have no flat earthers offered up photofraphic evidence of the edge of the earth?)
Or a photo of the entire flat earth for that matter.

Why is it so hard to resist quoting, correcting this guy?

TB
NASA keeps shooting down their steam powered Flat Provin' (FP-1) rockets with their big honkin' space guns.

Wrong. If you recall earlier, they use ballons but they keep falling back to earth for some reason

Even if he is a troll, I bet you deep down he believes some of the crap he is saying.

I've got a photo for you that I took, it's not of the earth but then I have never been to space. It's a picture of the Orion Nebula. If you look at the sword tip of Orion from a really dark location you might see a smudge, look at it with binoculars and you will know something is there, look through a telescope and you will make out more detail, attach your camera to your telescope and take 60, one minute exposures of the area and stack them of top of one another and you get this.

It's a stellar nursery, a star forming region, this is the sort of place where that big light in the sky that lights up the earth was made. You are a charlatan and a fraud, popular belief is overwhelmingly on our side and therefore the onus is on you. How do you explain gravitational lensing if, the globe model of the earth is false, if space doesn't exist, if the sun is not real. I've provided you with a photo, now it's your turn to provide me with a photo of the flat earth. It's very easy to do, buy a big balloon, attach a Go Pro to it, fill it with helium and let it go, recover it after it falls back to earth and upload the video here.

I am through talking. Since you guys think it is a game or something which it is not. I used to believe we lived on a ball and now I don't. I don't like being called names and a troll I consider name calling. I don't even know what a troll is. Seriously I don't know what a troll is but I know I am not one.
If we can't have discussions even when you don't agree with someone without name calling then I would rather not discuss. That is probably the main reason I stayed away from making comments in this thread because I have seen first hand how nasty people can get when you mention Flat Earth. I seriously feel like you could be a murderer and you would be treated better than someone who believes the earth is flat. I enjoyed the conversations until the name calling. I will leave you guys to your thread. I have made my peace.

Have you been to space? I haven't been there.

Yes, you have, and I think you're still there.

As for the Earthrise photo posted earlier, that was shot with a Nikon camera, on film, in December of 1968. There were no computers at that time capable of graphics at that resolution. Photoshop didn't exist and wouldn't for several DECADES. It IS a picture of the Earth, from about 230,000 miles away, while Apollo 8 was in orbit around the moon.
You calling it CGI over and over and over only proves your ignorance, not your "facts."

I said the picture was photo shopped not the video. The video is CGI.
OK then, let's humour this flat earth thing for a second... where does the edge lie?? I assume you would put it down the middle of the Pacific Ocean (like many map projections) or the Atlantic Ocean. If you take the Pacific, that really bamboozles all of the times I left Australia on a plane, headed East and somehow hit the west coast of North America. Similarly, I also got on a plane in LA, flew west and made it to Sydney.

If you take the Atlantic as the edge, that really makes fools of the three boat loads of scientists I have accompanied from Africa to the Caribbean (twice) or the Caribbean to Africa (once)
Or a photo of the entire flat earth for that matter.
Best not let him see this NASA website then! Hint to @quentin1974 : The black lines are there because a photo mosaic of a round object cannot be projected on a flat surface without gaps.

The "repeating cloud patterns" in that video are just similar formations. You can spot differences in each of those segments.

NASA does combine images from multiple sources (usually instruments that are designed to look in a specific band). You'd be surprised how hard you have to justify every kilogram on a spacecraft. "I want to take pretty pictures for people back home" doesn't cut it. Each instrument needs to be looking for something, learning something, shedding some scientific data. So instruments have specific spectra that they're good an sensing, and images from multiple sensors can be combined into a true color version that your eye would see.

Likewise, the specific orbit that a spacecraft is in will generally leave some gaps in the groundtrack. So if you're looking to get images from your sensor over the entire globe, your groundtrack will be a very limiting factor. It may take decades for your groundtrack to cover every part of the Earth such that you can reconstruct a 3D model of it.

It's impossible for me to sit here and convince you of all of the reasons why these photos are not faked, and are in fact real data from real spacecraft. You can come up with any number of explanations for how something could be faked. You can deny all kinds of data, and as long as you don't go study physics, you can even deny planetary motion, spacecraft motion, the entire field of rocketry, and how the equations of motion in those fields HAVE to work with the equations of motion in other fields because they're all derived from the same physical starting locations. As long as you don't learn enough physics, none of that has to bother you.

But... you can prove to yourself that the flat earth model is wrong by going on a cruise and enjoying a solar eclipse in 2021. I suggest you do it. After that you may find yourself a little more skeptical of flat earth claims and a little more understanding of everything else.

So, you have no answers to some fairly simple questions.

I wasn't insulting or calling you names. I was only considering the possibility that you are joking with us. It is your prerogative to believe in flat earth and it is our prerogative to believe in earth being a planet.

But when you are adament that you think you are correct, and I'm talking about CGI, and won't believe me that you probably don't know what CGI exactly is, in that case, I think you are trolling or fooling us in making us believe that you are serious.

BTW, when I say that I think your are trolling, I wasn't calling you anything. I find it strange you picked me out of all the posts while I was the one that said that you deservere some respect, that I wasn't insulting you, nor trying to insult you.

Well thank you very much for that. I take back my respect for you. Bye.

I didn't pick you out. Your post was the last one I read at the time and was responding to. But no I am 43 years of age and I don't play games except video games and mainly GTSport. I don't expect anyone to believe me but I am not a troll and I seriously don't even know what that is. I have heard the term but I don't do facebook,Twitter or any other social media sites and I have never been called that before. I apologize if I took it out on you. That was not my intention. Nothing gets solved unless people communicate. Again sorry for my over reaction.
