The Epic GT6 Thread (No Whining or Crying)

Yes, I must admit guys, I've been scratching my head working this pic out...:boggled:
The same angle during the day does not help greatly either.
The Dunlop/Apricot Hill bridge in the background doesn't really blend in with the track map when compared to some old footage. Unless they have changed the position of the bridge of course..:indiff:

It's the right hander after Turn 1/2.

The bridge still looks to be in the same position, it's just that you can't see the rest of the backstraight and the subsequent left hander out of the hairpin because it's the lowest point of the circuit. The hairpin is actually to the left of the shot. This is the field of view:

I was referring to the Dunlop Bridge over the backstraight, which you wouldn't be able to see from where you're suggesting. The Dunlop advertising is gone but it is illuminated by the Apricot Hill Sign.

They've just removed some of the landscape and foliage.

I see so its just after the double apex first corner, so its on of the chicanes that come after it. That's why we can the bridge going into the hairpin and coming out on the other side. Man its been a long time since I've raced on this track.

I won't be surprised if there are slight changes to the track.

If graphics and physics are anywhere close to what it's been shown in trailers, then the results are really close to a miracle. Sure, the game does have weak points, and as far as I know there are still aspects that need urgent improvement (most of all, sounds and collision dynamics -don't care much about damages, but I want the car to behave realistically when it hits a wall, or rams into another car-). But I would have never expected the ps3 being able to produce such a beautiful result. Of course, I can't say that GT6 looks BETTER than FM5, which is running on a far more powerful hardware, but sure enough, it looks way more REALISTIC, from lighting to reflections, from visual effects to night skies and weather transitions.
Also, they did a GREAT work with the inclusion of wonderful tracks that will keep us entertained for a looong time. Not that much with cars, but I'm sincerely hopeful that this aspect will be fixed in a month or two via DLCs.
I do not express myself about the editor, since what it will be capable of is still unclear so far, but if it meets half of what it promises, it will make this game endless.
All in all, I was one of those who thought that GT6 would be just a cash cow, with few improvements and most of the problems of GT5 being ported untouched. But, based on the latest news and media, I firmly believe that this game will be the indian summer of ps3.

Maybe to the surroundings - but I would be surprised if there were changes to the track itself. Simply because nothing much changed when GT4 tracks were converted over to GT5 (as far as I remember).

Totally agree
In FM5 graphics looks like plastic and the rims is like painted with chrome

Hmm, i liked the idea of the "Why you love GT"-Thread. IMO it deserved it's own thread. But ok, so i post it here...

I love GT because...

...it's a part of my life since 15 years
...it taught me how to drive and be fast
...it taught me - no matter what - that every target time is possible
...it taught me never to give up
...it challenged me ever since
...it's putting a smile on my face every time i see the monkey on the tree at Trial Mountain
...i learned to love the Nürburgring Nordschleife - and also how to become really fast on it
...it's giving me epic moments like the sunrise in Le Mans after 14 hours tough driving
...the moment i received the Platinum Trophy in GT5 was the best moment in my personal gaming history
...Motorsport became my passion
...for countless nostalgic moments
...without it - the gtplanet would not exist
 :gtpflag:

Photomode looks a lot better and there's a lot of potential for some great pictures now that all of the cars can be taken to photo travel.

Not too long now until GT6 is officially upon us. I shall probably leave my message from that other thread ("Why you love GT-sort of thread) here, but I too hope its fine for this thread. And besides, it's so close to release now.. so close, we're almost there! :D

Very few games have such a soul, a passionate eye for detail (regardless if its PS2 or PS3 era models) and a love for the art, the mechanics and the engineering of the roaring vehicles that traverse these routes. The snaking concrete roads that these wheeled beasts roam, that is our haven, and Gran Turismo allows us to do this as close to real life as possible (on consoles).

Being one of the few game franchises/series that I have stuck with since the very beginning, I am so glad it gets to celebrate its 15th anniversary of existence, of what it offers to us players, and what it tries to do for us, and the ever evolving influence it has on the car industry as a whole. Let it continue forever more~

Grand Turismo 1-6

I'm 54 years old and right now feel like a 15 year old kid waiting to go on a date with the best looking girl in school . Just like i do when each new version of GT is released .

Course it may end in tears , she might have the looks and no brains or the looks and a voice that will kill living creatures within 50 feet if she sings , but at the end of the day just like GT I am looking at the outside cover and that excites me because my imagination is going mad wondering what delights or horrors lay ahead .

I'll let you know how the ride is after i get under the bonnet an poke around a bit :P
