About the points given - seems you get more points when you gain some positions and actually you get more points for getting for example from 13th to 6th than for winning the race. I have no idea if this is a glitch which needs to be remastered. We'll see when more guys show up with points and their results.

If thats the case, it can be easily abused by qualifying last on purpose when you know you're a fast driver

Hi guys!
I was so excited about FIA Championships... My first race was the manufacturers Cup in Japan... I really enjoyed that race, I was starting 19 and finished 14! that was a great race with too many great drivers... My second trying was the Nations Cup in Kyoto... I like that circuit, that is my favorite on this game.... ok.. entry, and qualification , then i got a message from system : disconnection.... WTF??? so I was unlucky, the system did not let me go again, and I got 0 point! this is not so funny Gran Tourismo!!!! of course, one day, one race... I did not do nothing wrong... I'm so upset... was anyone happen this same situation?

From my experience, it seems that the format of these races makes it very difficult to actually race. Assuming people get a clear qualifying run, then the person in front of you should technically be faster, meaning the only way to catch him is by drafting or getting lucky/him getting unlucky.

In both of my races, I don't think I actually passed anyone with an actual battle. Qualified 11th both times, and all improvements were solely people who fell off the track or those that slowed due to a penalty for a hit up ahead of me. In the Nations Cup race, I ended up spending the first 7 laps with no one catching me, and me staying about 2 seconds behind the guy in front of me. It was only when the guys in front started fighting that I even started to catch up. Even when I myself fell off the track in my second race and fell to last, I only ever passed people that also fell off the track. I only got close to another car on the 9th lap, and never was able to pull up on him.

Granted, both times I ended up with groups that had several people with the Top 10 Global practice times, so that didn't help.

I had a blast in the nations cup race. Very clean and got a 4th so I'm happy. Qualifying was tough for the man cup race. Everyone was at different paces at different times and i never got a clean lap but thats racing. I'm really looking forward to the next round!

Well for me I feel that this whole setup is a joke. The sportsmanship rating means jack **** in this game. A “B” sportsmanship rating must stand for bumper cars. It’s far too easy to get punted off the track with little to no consequences for the “punter”.

In these sanctioned races we need the ability to report people that purposely reck you and kill the entire race. I’m at the point now that I believe anyone that rams another player should receive enough damage that their own event is for nought. I don’t care if it takes me out as well. Just knowing the other guy screwed himself over would be enough to feel satisfied.

I think you're right on this. I only got 148 or so in Manufactures for maintaing 2nd the whole race. In the Nations cup, I moved from 10th to 7th. I got around 480 in the Nations. Seems a little screwy to me. But remember, this is a test season too. Maybe they will fix this.

I had all 3 of my flying laps in qualifying ruined by catching someone even though each time I left lots of space so I ended up starting 10th. I did well up into 7th before a bump made me cut the tight left-right-left chicane. Ended up with 7 second penalty which was really hard to serve. Coasting on the straights and it wasn't going down very quick. Literally had to drop below 20mph to get it to go down. Finished 15th in the end. I understand them being a bit harder on the penalties in the championships but the fact I lost about 30 seconds and 8 positions through something completely not my fault did sour me a bit.

There should be a report button and save replay so they can determine if there should be a penalty on their side wether it be loss of championship points or a disqualification would have atleast made me feel better knowing he was getting punished for ruining my race

Technically possible, practically impossible - there would be multiple reports per race, counting hundreds or thousands of races, That is a huge amount of reports to be observing and considering consequences by a team of - how many people should do it? They simply wouldn't have time to do that in case they hold races every week, even if there were races only once per month.

i know m8. Just dreaming. There's a lot of cars that are not in this game BUT i still love it. Hope they will add more cars and tracks in future (free) patchs!

I had fun in the cup races, nothing too dramatic. But, I wish they would change the time. It's too late for us east coast racers. First race was at 10pm, which is fine on a weekend. I get up at 1:30am on week days tho. Guess I will only race 2 times a week.

I was racing with C and S guys like me! From 19 the results 14 in Japan! I got 146 points! In Kyoto the natons cup, the GT sport kicked me out with a disconnect, and no choice to go back! I got 0 point... that doesn’t even my mistake....

Only top 3 of your races count in your points. Then the races become weekly, I think we're being grouped atm.

But still only got 73 points. Why couldn’t they use something the FIA WEC point system? It would be fair and more predictable.. - and realistic, this is «official» FIA racing afterall..

Mid D. It has went up and down a lot but always stayed D. I focused a lot on getting S SR by dropping back and/or keeping my mid-pack position in the Daily Races. Never went for the win unless I was sure I played against clean people. Now I regret my decision. I want my DR up to at least B. I’m not the fastest here, but still.

Yeah, me too. Just finished now. Got 3 times pushed from behind me ending out of track and got 3 times SR down. In the end I descended from A to B. To be honest I pushed also one guy, because he braked earlier than I. I couldn’t slow down enough and also I couldn’t get around him . We were too close. I would like to watch replay.

@MadMax which position did you end up in, I see you have 123. And @RaceFace85 you’re on top of my friends list with 577. How come you got that much and I got only 60?
What is weird is that I got more in the manufacturer series.. where I placed lower. Weird... sure, my rating is D/S...but really? Does it matter that much?

I was second in the race yesterday. There was only one good opponent in my race. I think it depends on the opponent class you are racing against. Today I got much more points for the third place and all oponents were very competitive with an A class ranking. Today I got 1227 points for the third place.

Since Blue Moon Bay means everyone is going to be using the Volkswagen, I decided to go for a Team USA livery. Just an American rocket with some German engineering

Anyway, I ran my races with the fastest group, all B/A/S driver racings and S sportsmanship ratings. I finished 9th I believe in the Nations Cup race and earned 783 points, ranking me 41st in the world and 33rd in the United States. So clearly the points are awarded based on the speed and ability of your competition, as well as I believe the overall time of your race. You may win a race in the lower ranks, but if it's a slower race, you'll earn less points.

Same here qualified 7th no one except me and the other people in front braked at the first corner everyone at the back of me rammed a good few of us off the track and got a 10 sec penalty managed to claw my way back to 7th but could have been a bit higher best race so far when you get past the idiots

I was in the B, and I have to say, they are really good drivers! I enjoy the races with Sr S guys! Fair races! I like that!
A lot of people thinks that, if the BOP equal, then the cars are equal... that’s Not even true! Big difference between cars...

OMFG! The oval race... Qualified 1st, ended up 7th. Was 16th at one point. Absolute carnage. Gave up trying to be aware and just pinned it for the last 10 laps. Went from SR C to E and DR B to C. No awareness in my race. Rammed on 1st corner by 3rd place driver, 10s penalty??? How? I was in front! Rammed into wall repeatedly. Rammed from behind on the tight corner nearly every lap. Slammed when slipstreaming past a slower driver and troll braked on the banked turn. Never again. Just took me 2hrs to get back to B B!
