Does anyone know what the actual reward is for the championships? I had decent points for the Manufacturer Series (approx 1500). Now season 2 has started, but I don't recall seeing anything for completing season 1?

Having tons of fun with the series. Still not sure on daily races and ongoing championships, but would nice to get some clarity on how it all works.

Nothing to win yet, this is just a test series. The real deal begins in April.

Haven't felt too well the past 24h so I'm sorry for updating the OP late. It should be up to date with all the upcoming events now.

If anyone is willing to host todays practice session, please PM me with the Room ID so I can update the OP with the practice session being live and enterable. In that case - DO NOT make the room transferrable - When the host leaves the room the room should go offline, and that's when you need to tell me, so I can update the OP with it being offline again.
I'm not sure I will do the races today, which is why I'm not going to open a practice session myself.

I thought doing this for the community would be a nice favor, and so far it has been a blast helping a lot of people out. Updating this thread all the time and having to commit to it has started to get a little tiresome, it is very difficult to have to be so active both here and in-game all the time.
Don't get me wrong, it's fun, it's just a tough solo job! I think since release I've been active basically 20/7 here on the forum  Thank god I don't have a job, or else juggling both this and that would get too much. Serving the community here at GTPlanet has become my full time job :)

I do it because I care for you guys. I hope this thread is a little bit useful. And I hope you like the "online café" too.

get better @syntex123 and thx for your support, you probably underestimate how many people "just read" and benefit from your efforts!! (suggestion, reset the poll now that manuf.season one is in the books? I won't sign with VW again, that's for sure, the Gr4 car sux, only drove the beetle, no idea yet what I would choose next time I have the opportunity (whenever that is...)

I made a cardinal mistake and instead of staying with Nissan I subscribed to honda! :banghead: this will be hard season for me and my skills, damn :D

Thanks :)
Haha I haven’t really given it any thought about how many pops in just to read, I will continue to update it daily no matter what, if one benefit from it or 100, it doesn’t matter. I like being helpful :) so I must thank you for your kind words, it makes me glad you apreciate it :D
Yeah sure. I’ll reset it in the morning if that’s ok. :)

I did the same.. but I chose Subaru. It is excellent to drive but it lacks speed. I did at least beat your practice time by a few miliseconds though. I got stock at the matching screen and had to quit the game (patiently waited for five minutes). Sadly that entry counted, and I can’t redo it. Now I begin to understand what those Americans go through.

Manufacturers Cup - Suzuka - Honda NSX Gr.4

Q - 1st / totally unexpected, as i had only one hour to search the right setup to tame this slippery beast (much more slippery than GT-R)
R - 12th (not sure now about this)
P - 55 (55 in total)

After totally unexpected result of my 1st Pole in FiA history (who cares that it is test season :D ) i got a bit more nervous. After start in first turn i needed to brake hard to avoid to ram the guy who passed me, but was late, there was no contact, yet i think i brakechecked the one behind me, got 10s penalty, Yet tried to stay in front as i was feeling confident, till end of lap 3 (pretty short confidence, i know) when i ran wide in the chicane, and from that time my race got screwed. By myself to be honest. Did couple more mistakes till the end and didnt come anywhere close to my Q time (+2s). So pretty ashamed after this race, to drop from top to 12.

Nations Cup - Kyoto/Yamagiwa - Volkswagen Beetle Gr3 (Herbieeeeee :D )

Q - 9th
R - 10th
P - 66 (66 in total)

After practice i fell in love with this car, It totally suits my driving style, so was looking forward to get a good Q, yet another few mistakes - kept me on P9 for the race. Even my practice lap was around Pole time. In the race pushed hard from begin, got in 2 laps to P6 to get on 3-battle for P3. Herbie was really great, except me making another silly mistake in big 180 turn, where i was wide (again). Lost few places, and fought for them back. In 6th or 7th lap i ran the fastest lap (which stayed there till the end)fought back to P7, just for spin after the hairpin in penultimate lap and lose another spots. Been on 11th, 2s behind duo GT-R / Mustang. With 1 lap to go i managed to catch and pass Mustang in esses, yet GT-r was quick enough to hold me on distance. Sad, but confident to found my Gr.3 car i'll use more often. :D

Hi all I had 2 great races in the man cup and the nat cup. Drove with some really respectful drivers and had a blast. Qualified 3rd in the nat cup and brought home a 2nd for 600 or so points. The man cup race was tense as I qualified 9th and finished 7th. Right in the thick of a few battles but no one even touched. That got me a little over 400 points. I signed with Ferrari this time but kinda want my Vipers back lol.

Signed with Chevrolet this time from Porsche, don`t ask me why!

Still lacking in talent sadly but wheel and seat arrive today :)

Might not make a huge difference

SR is S

DR is D

Any advice on driving faster would be greatly appreciated, alway try to drive respectfully and give competitors room

What wheel and seat did you get? :)

Same rating as me :)

I’m not the fastest here so I’m surely not the best to answer how to drive faster. But I’ve noticed if you drive with the cones on, you can push a lot harder. Great if you’re unsure about other drivers/not 100% familiar with the track.

Do I have to edit the poll on PC to reset it? Or can you do it for me @MadMax?

Changed to Porsche from Audi. Got P3 at Yamigawa and then so angry with the dicks in the Suzuka race I threw my controller at the wall... new one required

I sruck with Dodge this round again.. Honestly i feel a well rounded cars for both Gr.4 and Gr.3.. Just need to keep smooth driving lines and smooth throttle on exits at times to keep the slip to a minimum.. have done fairly well.. Q11 AND P5 in the Man cup.. Q 3rd in nation cup but got up on the curbing after fitst corner on the 3rd lap and lost control.. Knocked myself down to 13th... But managed to crawl up to a 6th finish..

Had a hard time yesterday with lapped traffic blocking and brake checking.. Swerving all over the road.. Really just trying to mess the top positions up... It's unfortunate but unavoidable.. An unnecessary challenge lol

Why didn’t I get a slider kit when I ordered my stuff, it’s soo annoying having to redo the setup everytime my fiance wants to try. Need to get that myself then. Haha

You will get better just by virtue of being able to use the wheel and pedals, but keep in mind you'll be worse first while you get used to the feel. :) You will slide and spin all over your first few races and that is normal. I'd suggest hitting some arcade time trials or mission races before jumping into any race that will affect your SR just so you can get up to speed.

Back on topic, does anyone know how to/if you can see the results of the previous season? I know we really don't get anything but I'd like to see that I'm making some kind of progress. At one point I was 24th in the Audi group...we'll see what McLaren is like this round. I'm purposefully picking cars that will challenge me. The R8 took some getting used to because I'm awful at mid/rear engine platforms. The 650S seems much more stable though perhaps slower. Thinking maybe the gearing is not as short and therefore less aggressive.

Hi! That’s in the same menu, where You see the actual result, just change the FIA test season 2 for 1^on the left side of the tap!

Apparently late night after attending a hockey game is not the time to be looking for things. :embarrassed: Thanks!

Does anyone here use the fanatec csl? I want to get one but think I want the v3 pedals instead of the csl pedals. Not sure if the v3 pedals can be used though, any advice?

I switched from Mazda to Dodge. Both are very good choices. The Gr.3 Viper is slightly more stable than the Gr.3 Atenza, I think. Both Gr.4 cars perform very similarly. BOP seems to work fairly well. I don't feel like any single vehicle has a major advantage. I'm always a couple seconds slower than the top times, no matter what I choose though, so it's hard to say with confidence if one car is faster than another. No regrets so far choosing Dodge, though in real life I'm very much not a fan of Dodge. lol

Just had the worst race of my life. SR from a solid S to D in one race.

Feels like I was snipered out first corner. Straight to last from second.

Rammed into countless times, people crashing and coming back on track at 5mph not ghosted, me guessing which side wrong and then hitting them, for me to get hit from behind, car crippled with a 20sec penalty! This happened more than once. People passing and then spinning due to grass tapping me on the way past, 10 seconds every time. All giving me about 1min of penalties.

Diamond in the rough at the back, a guy in a beetle, we had a good little race, and I bet a lot at the front would of been brilliant but, this was amazingly bad!

Qualified second and I took fastest lap while being mainly in basically last.

I'm not blaming SR system (maybe a bit) , I'm blaming the quality of racing for this, and a lot of bad luck.

It was actually laughable how many penalties I got. I was no saint but I only tapped a couple of guys by accident , only major one was cuz he hit a wall and dropped 20mph instantly with me behind, 10sec again

Video with me skimming through it.

I hope you find it as funny as I'm trying to :D

Poll has been reset.

I chose Honda for Test Season 2.

Manufacturers Cup - Mt. Panorama - Honda NSX Gr.3

Q - 13th (secretly hoped for better time, as spun in 2/3 hot laps)
R - 10th
P - 55 (110 in total after 2 races)

As i had no time for both races (due RL issues (work :D )) I happily and with no big thinking about skipped the Kart race and tried to prepare for the Gr.3 race. In practice i think i got a decent 2:11.4, which was my goal to the Q, but as I mentioned above, after first safe lap i spun in 4th corner in second hot lap so prepared for the third hot lap. Ran pretty well, got even purple time on the skyline section, but got tail-happy in downhill and lost the chance.
In race got a good start as within 2 laps i was on P10 and battling for P8. There were few mistakes i made, which led to loss of position, yet guys who passed me were long on brakes in last section so i took back what I lost. :D This was at least 4-5 times. In lap 9 i got to the lead of "my group" (8th - 10th) and focused to maintain the position to the finish. Downhill was against me and i spun so unlucky, that i stopped all across the track, needed to rev and "wall-kick" to get back on track and lost around 11s on my group, thankfully guy behind had the loss of 23s. In last lap got back on guy in front of me, as he had some problems (spun or missed turn, maybe penalty) but he stayed 2s away of me. Happy with my effort and also with the race.

I drove for Nissan in the first season, now I resigned for Dodge. Don't regret it, I like the Vipers.
And after 2 rounds, I was 14th among the Dodge drivers. The last round didn't go so well for me (qualified 4th, but screwed up in the race and finished 10th), so I'm probably lower in the table now.

Manufacturers Cup - Big Willow - Honda NSX Gr.4

Q - 11th - got faster lap i had so far, so nothing to complain about
R - 5th
P - 107 (217 in total after 3 races)

Decent Q time, a bit faster than my practice record, got me to 11th place on start, yet had only 1 good Q lap. Race was great, had to pass few wide riders and got to 8th before last turn of first lap. At the end of the turn there was guy in front of me a bit wide and slipped. In atempt to avoid colision with him, i passed him, but got wide and ran out of bounds, so needed to slow down - lost few places and ran on P12 now, found my rhythm, pushed to my limits, got few fast laps, passed couple of drivers and got to 7th in like 5th lap. Getting closer to them in front of meand hoping they will make mistake, two laps to go i was on P5 but got to P4 because another wide in last turn. I was so happy and nervous at the same time that I missed my brake point in turn 3 - 180° turn - and ran out, 2 guys passed me and i was happy to get back on track, before another group. There was that slow sharp turn at the top of incline which helped me keep my new position, and pushed hard once again. Anyway, one guy was wide again in last turn so i got back to P5 where i stayed till the finish. As a gift, my last lap was my fastest in race and I got under 1:21, by 5 thousandths of a second. ^^

I am starting to think that my resigning from Nissan to Honda wasn't that bad at all, but that is just hypothetical.

I'm not sure which position I took at Big Willow, I was distracted that race. Very distracted. I qualified 6th I think, had 2nd a while but then I messed up. A guy sent me a message on pen after "LEARN TO RACE CLEAN!!!!" lol. I avoided every pile-up and early braking, but at some points when the guys ahead(after my mess-up) went two and three-wide into a corner and everyone braked early, I had to aim for the dirt to not hit them. And I didn't either. Might've blocked the guy behind when doing so, but I tried to avoid a crash. If that isn't clean I don't know what is.

The Blue Moon race was excellent. Qualified 4th but started 5th, fought like crazy with another Beetle (yeah I had to test my lovebug :D) to try to get third. We would get third every other second, driving very close all the time. I mostly chose the outside lane and he chose the inside. Clean tight racing, the whole race. Sadly I ended up 4th, we overtook last place and the guy in second to last would not let us pass. Which made me brake early in one of the last turns and dropping back, since the guy I fought with was alongside that guy I didn't want to go three-wide. That guy appearantly hadn't heard about the blue flag.. :P comeon PD, give us all flags! Anyway, great race. Didn't get much points though.
Saved and shared the replay. Also befriended that guy, he also loved that tight clean racing. :D

Blue flag omission gets more annoying the more I play it, but I also feel people should just know about it and move over anyway. However, I think I've seen 1 person move over in the whole time on the game so far.
