Also, why does the midget get so much hate? It can be made into a really fun car.
With the right setups, you can get it to drift or flip over on every turn

With the way PD has designed GT4 and GT5, what is a little annoying is the issue of supply. When winning races, I find it a little annoying that there are handfuls of underpowered compact cars as prize cars, many of which are neither fun to drive or can be used to win future races. Also it can sometimes be annoying when the UCD has four variants of skylines, NSXs, and 3000GTs all at the same time. It's not a big deal, just a little annoying.I actually don't think not having a certain car in game will help at all unless that by removing it you have enough room on disc to include a car worth having but since games rarely fill the entire disc I don't see this being a problem.
Sorry but ll this hate towards the Tank Car and Kei cars and the war VW's specifically make me boil.
GT5's is marketed as "The Real Driving Simulator". Not racing, driving. Part of the pleasure of GT is sampling the variety of machines on offer. Tank Car - silly yes, but it's a beast, unique, and individual and worth more than a load of Mx5's. Kei cars - little fun cars to drive, put them on comfort tyres and have fun. Not convinced? Try telling a Suzuki Cappuccino RM ya not.
The VW's? Again, something different. Something fresh and novel and unique. By removing vehicles that enhance the variety your just relegating it into another racing game... Forza, Need For Speed, Grid, all focus on solely performance vehicles or racecars. GT's appeal is the broad spectrum, it also caters for differing driver ability levels as well.
Every time someone says Kei cars in this thread I die a little inside..
So are you saying you want them to take them out of the game?
If it was useless you wouldn't be able to use it. As it stands, it has the same use as every other car in the game. On top of that it adds variety to the game, something the game would lose if it was simply excluded. Why did they even include the tank car anyway its useless
You forgot about racing outside of the Kei car championship, since they can do that too.Long story short ... YES. They are just god awful in my opinion. The only thing they are good for is either
A. Trolling People
B. Kei Car Championship
or
C. Getting a 100% Garage
Why did they even include the tank car anyway its useless people just use it to troll.
You're obviously wrong considering all the people who are arguing against you.Obviously yes no one ever uses them

Plenty of people use them, even if you don't.
To me, a lot of the Kei Cars are boring. I'm not saying remove those nor the Tank Car since some people oddly enough like them. There are a few exceptions to the Kei cars though for me; I like the Honda Beat, Suzuki Cappuccino, Suzuki Alto Works Sport Limited, Daihatsu Move custom, & Mazda AZ-1.
I'm curious though, what do some of you like about the Tank Car?

CallmeDanThe horn and its effectiveness as a rolling/stationary roadblock on small tracks.
I have a huge stash of the tank car's horns (horn #112 if you didn't know)
You can always modify them though, it's one of the good things about GT. Take something dull and fix what you think is wrong with it.I find most Kei cars dull, unspectacular and at times downright hideous.
There are so many one make races though, I don't see the problem. The Viper Cup (the real life one) only allowed Viper ACR-X's. The Viper Cup (virtual one) that I helped run on this site used only Viper ACR's. One car is enough for a race series. As far as the tank car goes, I don't really see the point in having a car where there is no other equivalent cars in terms of vehicle category/performance characteristics to race it against.
Their inclusion in the next GT game would take away time needed to model other cars, so excluding them from GT6 is logical, from my perspective.
