In other (yet related) news I'd completely forgotten about the MSotD. Holy crap.

So I see some of you goofballs still got a fluffy red hat on your avatars still....yeah, what's up with that?

A lot of people leave their Christmas decorations up until the 1st so maybe it's something like that.

Don't you dare...or else you'll find yourself underneath an RUF with a German licence plate reading "EVA 02".

Pfff, Porsches. 'Sides, don't you moan. Fuu is also 14, it's not like I'll be swapping anything non-equivalent.

I thought you didn't want us to look at Fuu.

Naked, bud. Don't look at her naked.

Clannad 7-12 (Finishing up disc 2 of Clannad Collection 1.)
Fuko, no!!! Don't disappear on me!!!:(

She's back, to get a star plushie from the evil claw machine!!!:0Nobody remembers her though.:(

Also, who knew violins could kill people literally with sound.
On a somewhat unrelated note, I wonder if the Blu-ray that came over here used the same masters as the Japanese Blu-ray. There are incidents where our Blu-rays are different with video and audio (Ex: Our Ouran High School Host Club Blu-ray is different than Japan's. Our's was an SD upscale.), and even where our DVD's are different when it comes to video and audio.

Don't know when I'll be getting the Clannad Blu-ray though.

CLANNAD isn't the best but it's still a good show regardless of the After Story tear jerker stuff.

After Story tear jerker stuff? It's not exclusive to After Story... the original had the same problem of lots of ineffective emotional scenes. At least in After Story, if episodes 8 and 9 are any indication, it's starting to become effective.

The dramatic fight scenes in CLANNAD After Story were awesome.

The fight scene in 8 was pretty cool. Not mind-blowing awesome, but then CLANNAD isn't an action show, so you don't expect it to be.

Oi, Jimmy James. You saw Tomoyo After, right?

Yeah. Why?

It should be an action show, Clannad Ball Z!!!!

BTW, anyone have a gif of when Fuko was hitting Sunohara with the star on the desk like crazy?

No, Sephy is referring to the actual sad moments in the show.

Well I don't see sad/tear-jerky stuff to be a bad thing (if, like anything else, it's done well), so him saying that Clannad's good regardless of it didn't make sense to me like that.

If I thought tear-jerky stuff was bad, I'd dislike stuff like 5 Centimeters Per Second waaaaaay more than I do Clannad. But it's the exact opposite. I love 5 Centimeters way more than Clannad simply because it pulls of the tear-jerking more subtly and effectively.

The CSW people in Other Anime on the [adult swim] boards finally got to me.

Decided to listen to the CSW podcast on the Winter 2012 Season (Still listening to it.), and I learned J.C. Staff is crazy, six shows during this season (It's not just new stuff, it's continuing also meaning Shana III.). I never really pay attention to the number of shows each studio is going to pump out on the chart, but that is just crazy. The animators are going to suffer more.

You just wait...

On a side note I finally bought my own pair of chopsticks lol. Been needing to do that for a while.

Wow, Toei Animation is doing it again. I looked at the 3.0 chart, and they're doing a 9th Pretty Cure show (Bottom right corner before the OVA's). Another set of 49 episodes, start! It does get in the top 10 animation TV ratings for each new series, so not too surprised. Sigh, when will Pretty Cure ever get home video rights here, or they'll at least get the sequels?

Man it's dead in here. Let's get some starfish smacking in here.

Also, let's all go deaf. Clannad has some of the nicest humor I've seen, even if it doesn't really make me laugh out loud. I never mentioned it, but Clannad has some of the nicest animation I've seen, mainly in those action sequences. Shonen titles with battles could benefit from that definitely.

The animation's not really remarkable, mostly just consistently good. None of the animation makes me think "wow that's nicely done" but it's solid and there aren't any moments like there are in a lot of shows where the animation is noticeably degraded in quality.

The humor's good. Clannad was a bit of a mixed bag, but most of After Story's humor (so far) is proving quite effective.

I didn't find it that sad, personally... IIRC, I went "Aww that sucks....."

and that was it :indiff:

I guess you need a show to display signs saying "be sad now" like Clannad practically does. :sly:

Hey hey hey,

Does Beyblade count as an anime? The original Beyblade not the newer stuff that I can't stand. No one replaces Tyson and Dragoon! lol. Anyone else watched that show?

Well I haven't seen many shows that have animation like it seen in this video.

Many newer shows even don't compare to it, and the same obviously goes for old. Though obviously, how would shows like YuYu Hakusho (1992), Rurouni Kenshin (1996), Dragon Ball Z (1989), and The Slayers (1996) have animation that matches Clannad, a show that started in 2007? It just wasn't possible back then.

Even though it's toyetic, yes it counts as anime. Saw a little bit of it back when it was on Cartoon Network (Not talking about that Metal Fusion or whatever is currently on there.), but that was such a long time ago.

Lots of anime in general is pretty much for kids.

I used to watch it... I remember I modded one of my beyblades to behave like that Galman, the one that tipped side to side....I didn't like the show, I just liked getting more parts, launchers, cords and even material to make new stadiums..

Good gawd, the FUNimation forums are still suffering from slow loading times.:(

How is it they still are having these problems?

RIP Bandai Store, even though I never bought from there. I did browse there a couple times though. They also closed their Amazon store as well.

Wow, Oreimo's inflated prices are starting to get more ridiculous than anything I've seen before. Who's going to pay $2,000 for it? Not even the most hardcore of Japanese otaku would pay that price.

How come it's dead here? I sleep all day and come back to nothing? come on.

I didn't watch any S;G today. But tomorrow I'll get even.

Who knows, I'm surprised at how dead it is right now. Also how far are you in Steins;Gate?
