Watching Redline now, hard to get through. Very MTV/Animatrix. Some pretty cool music, very over the top/amazing animation, and maybe there's a little story to go along with it, but I think it's just supposed to be a visual/sonic experience. Kind of reminds me of some of the older experimental animators like Bakshi. Gets +1 though for showing Sanoshee's quartering of a Bok Choi. I love it when anime depicts vegetables accurately (Miyazaki's great for that, too).

Edit: and it isn't doing it for me as a racing anime at all, disappoint.

MAL says Mirai Nikki is 26 episodes long... How is it going to be that long? I was hoping it'd be maybe 15 episodes, as it looks like its reached its climax...and everything going down in 1-2 more episodes.

I can see how it could be that long. Filler(obviously stuff from the manga), twists and prolonged battles with other diary owners.

Redline does take a nosedive near the second half. The opening race was amazing though. Yes there's not much story (though they do force a love story out of nowhere (WTF)), or much racing for that matter, but it is just a pure visual treat. I love the style.

For those of you wondering what this might spoil before watching, Wolf's Rain, Death Note, Gurren Lagann, Code Geass, and FMAB.

Why you start on 4 when the guy did 5, and yeah,

Wolf's Rain's ending is up there. For me above Lelouche which got his top pick. Haven't seen Death Note so can't really say if that was #3 worthy. #2 Kamina, yeah, very sad, but necessary for the story, not #2 but maybe still top 5. And #5 Maes from FMAB, yeah, that sucked hard. I'd also throw in Riku and Irene from Blood+ at least as top 10 picks.

That guy needs to learn how to setup his audio stuff. I won't watch it because it hurts my ears, but the description tells me enough as is.

People keep seeming to ignoring how much the global economy is suffering.

Again, blaming it all on just the economy alone practically is stupid. I've talked to so many people who are very knowledgeable on the industry. They do not consider the economy the biggest factor one bit.

One reason why Bandai got backed into a wall (Along with piracy.), people refusing to buy singles which they kept releasing.

You have the "🤬 the singles. Too much money, never worth it. I'll wait for the box set." mentality. Though that doesn't work out so well when the box set never comes out (Looks at .hack//Roots, Hayate the Combat Butler.).

Singles (And 13 episode parts from FUNimation.) make more money however. When singles started to disappear for the most part in 2010, the companies made less money per show as while you had more people buying, they were making less money. 50,000 people buying a $50 box set won't give the company as much as 25,000 people buying 3 $30 singles.

I recommend reading through this thread, there is various industry talk, and why this happened to Bandai scattered about in these 424 posts.

One thing that is certain, the Japanese do not need the R1 market. They have found all they have to do to get more people from here to buy their releases is to put English subtitles on the Blu-ray, and that's it. Aniplex USA proved this when Garden of Sinners sold out before it's release, despite being $400 for 8 movies.

So, if we see all the R1 companies go under, it's Blu-ray imports with English subtitles we go.
