I hope they know that means making everyone pay Japanese prices for everything (That means if Madoka was released worldwide, you'd have to pay $90 each for 6 2 episode BD singles instead of the cheaper options Aniplex USA is giving people.). Kurokami: The Animation's international release was a disaster. To prevent reverse-importation, they had to make the Blu-rays dub-only.

Bandai Visual USA failed by pricing all their anime here at Japanese-like prices. They weren't being wise like Aniplex USA is being when it comes to imports.

Anyway... that suggestion is a bit... wut. I mean really, region codes aren't really a problem anymore with Blu-ray. Sure, there's still region codes... but there's only 3 of 'em. And the US is in the same region as Japan, so... yeah.

Yeah, it isn't a problem with Blu-ray. It's easier on importers to import Japanese releases now that more have English subs, and we're in the same Blu-ray region (Some consider a blessing, others, a nightmare since it causes delays due to reverse-importation fears from the Japanese.). Though of course, importers don't mainly import to watch the show.

Ah, so they came as a set. I know that the show is scheduled for two seasons, and a two-season show is [considered] risky. Did you see a two-season series like Guilty Crown as a risk in terms of length?

Yamamoto: There is, of course, a very big risk to doing a two-season show, and to doing something original. But if we go for one season, it'll just begin and end. So for this show, and from now on, we want to do more two-season shows.

I'm not sure if they mean episodes 1-11 being season 1, and 12-22 being season 2 because after all this show started in the Fall 2011 season, and will end this season.

But yeah, sorry folks. Steins;Gate was good, but it wasn't a revelation. The only other show on that poll I've seen would be Madoka, which is definitely better. But frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of the other shows were also better than S;G, if not all of them.

BTW I'm curious, do you agree with Archaeon's review? He is one of the best reviewers I've seen on MAL, even though obviously I don't agree with all his scores and reviews.

Overall, yeah... I agree with a lot of the things he says. I think he's a bit overly generous with his praise of the show's redeeming traits though.

The whole was definitely not greater tham the sum of its parts, for me at least. IMO, it may actually be lesser than the sum of its parts.

It was my first attempt at really trying to review an anime, especially one that I really, really like. It after all is my second favorite anime (One Piece being my favorite.). I'm not really a writer either.
