Last Exile is quite good, not sure if 9/10 but certainly worth a watch if you like anything along the lines of Steam Punk or airships. Pretty too.

Cano just doesn't like it because it doesn't have glasses or lamb.

I will never ever watch Madoka. I hateeeeee it.

You're a fool if you don't watch it. This isn't even arguable.

Dropping Madoka after episode 3...

OMG, TC, I'm so proud. You did a reaction and it didn't include numbers.

Guys, guys, a round of applause. :dopey:

But srsly, dropping Madoka after episode 3 is kind of lulzy. Because that is when stuff starts to get serious.

Curse them similar names. Bokurano* then lolol

Indeed.

Protip: Don't go reading too much about Bokurano beforehand. Wouldn't want you accidentally spoiling any of the surprises.

If you want to know what it's about, here's a brief synopsis: A group of kids end up piloting a giant robot to defend Earth.

There's a whole lot more to it than that, so don't worry if that doesn't sound super-exciting or original. :3

Now regarding Madoka, I agree with the others that you should watch it. But I strongly urge you to watch Bokurano first, since they're surprisingly similar. Madoka almost certainly was inspired greatly by Bokurano.

Hey the moe-ness of Madoka irritated me so I dropped it >.>

And yeah, I saw a pic of Bokurano when I searched for it and was convinced that it's going to be epic, so I didn't bother reading about it at all 👍 Though I wish it was out on BluRay :(

One of my friends on MAL actually dropped it after episode 3 as well. He got laughed at over at the [adult swim] boards because of it. People noticed it was in his dropped list when he asked for recommendations.

Me too, bro. Me too.

Hell, I wish it was out on anything in the US. I'd be more than glad for them to shut up and take my money, but it seems they're content without it.

Depends on if it would sell. Until then, here you go.

You only need to know Japanese, and have a region-free DVD player.:dopey:

(BTW, seems they never released it on Blu-ray in Japan)
Yes, I know. It was hard for me to swallow too, I don't like moe either. But I can warantee you that the show will shut your mouth. It made me shut mine.
Then this image will be right up your alley.:sly:

never saw this:

Yes, the airships are cool designs and it's steam-punkish, not too much but yes. But it's storyline is absolutely erratic, and the end is like OMGWTFLOL. It's got to be one of the worst endings I've ever seen in an anime.

EDIT:

Then this image will be right up your alley.:sly:

eeewww no, that's not Madoka.

I'll pass.

Of course. It's not that popular of an anime... mainly because it's quite dark. But also because it's not moe, ecchi, visual novel-based, shounen or some other kind of bull****.

Eh, they've released Blu-rays of non-popular anime before such as Maburaho (IIRC, it wasn't all that big of a hit). It's not going to do well.

(200 is extremely laughable. Not going to rank on the Oricon chart at all, NEXT!)

There is a chance in a couple of years they'll eventually release Bokurano on Blu-ray.

LOL...Omamori Himari bombed on Blu-ray as well.

Fanservice and Blu-ray for the first time, you'd think it would sell, but nope, MAJOR BOMB. Under 1,000 copies for a box set of a show that's being released on Blu-ray for the first time is absolutely hilarious, especially when the show originally sold 3,000 some copies per volume on DVD.

Only time will tell. I'm not holding my breath though, and I'm not going to suggest that people wait for some hypothetical Bokurano release (which may or may not come) instead of enjoying the fansub that's already available.

Nor am I going to tell people to buy the Japanese release. In case you didn't notice, only volumes 1, 3, 5 and 6 are available on that site you posted. That's 4 volumes short of complete. Not to mention each volume is $90 USD.

Last Exile. Started it finally last week, it's fairly good. I suspect it'll be a 9/10 show for me when I'm done as one of my friends on MAL tells me it's really, really good and one of their all-time favorites.

Anyone here seen Escaflowne? I'm intending on picking that sometime this year. I'm wondering how is it? Apparently it was one of Bandai Entertainment's most successful shows here.

Everything I have heard of Last Exile is that it sucks a lot. I still want to see it because I am a huge steampunk fan.

Escaflowne is awesome.

You're an idiot. Madoka is great. It's definitely one of the best from this decade.

Bokurano and Baccano are pretty good. Bokurano is better, but you can't go wrong with either.

As much as it seems you'll hate Madoka becaquse of how childish it looks, believe us all: you REALLY should watch it. I would have thought the very same upon seeing some images of the show, but I can gladly say that it changed my mind entirely by it being stupid-awesome. Really, if you ever gonn a try to open your mind on one single show, let Madoka be it.

I am actually pretty glad that the pictures are so misleading. Makes it even better.

TC, how many of those shows had some advertising? Seriously, what is the budget for marketing shows?

There's always Amazon Japan where it's cheaper, and all the volumes are there. Not sure if Amazon Japan themselves have all the volumes however, but if not, you'll most likely be able to get them for less than half the MSRP most likely.

I actually kind of liked the ending. Explained the Guild and some of the odd topography a bit.

And it certainly didn't pull an Eureka 7.

Bokurano: Hipster Madoka
Tricking young kids into contracts with horribly ****ed up consequences before it was moe.

:P

Bokurano is certainly great. I wish someone licensed it here. Not because I'd buy it(Or at least not yet anyway), but so one of my friends at another forum would watch it. Dude mostly buys anime, doesn't download at all.

He is also in this forum, his nickname is The Corvette.
