Hey guys, just saying a quick hello since I'll try to post here a bit from now on. Thanks for the "invite", Wilso.

Haven't really been watching anime very long at all, but just recently, started to have a stronger desire to watch more. I'm currently about halfway through Psycho-Pass, JoJo's and the first season of Chihayafuru. I also started a couple of other shows but I've kinda let them go until I've finished those three.

Don't read many manga at all to be honest.

Welcome! You should check out Neon Genesis Evangelion and its related films. It's the best anime that has ever been created.

I didn't actually find it that good of a show. It was good, but not that good.

Don't kill me.

It has a lot of symbolisms, religious references and a bunch of abstract stuff difficult to comprehend. The best thing to do is to just nod your head and keep watching, because if you keep trying to make sense of everything you say, your brain will explode.

Well it wasn't a braindead show I can tell you that, but you have the right mindset when watching the show. Only 6% of the world's population truly understand Evangelion. 38% of them think they do but they don't.

Everyone has their own opinions and not everything appeals to everyone. That being said, you must be friends with TC or something.

But for real, NGE is the best. Maybe you need to see it again. :)

If anyone is curious as to the result of the death Bandai and the Anime legends, you just have to search Anime Legends on Amazon:

Escaflowne - $89
Wolf's Rain - $70
Witch Hunter Robin - $102
.hack//SIGN - $115
Cowboy Bebop Remix - $125
S-Cry-ed - $200

Most Anime Legends are $60-$70 excluding Agent Aika, but that doesn't really count as it's a short series.

So, yeah, if you wanted one of these collections...you'll have to shell out a lot more money. And soon, all the series will be super expensive as they become rarer.
Good thing I snagged what I needed from Bandai when I could. Witch Hunter Robin was only $30, same goes for Escaflowne. Didn't get anything else you listed.
Does this mean I can get $100 for my Witch Hunter Robin set?
Probably not, as these are the prices right now.

Yeah, no. Neon Genesis Evangelion is easily one of the greatest anime ever made. It has so much you could ever want from a show, from its phenomenal cast (They are the main reason why I love the show) with tons and tons of backstory and development, to the resolution of their personal problems in the end, to its awesome action scenes, fanservice (Which does not take over the show), hilarious comedy, and complicated, complex, and very engaging story, it easily stands above so many shows.

tl;dr it IS that good, and you should feel ashamed for not thinking that.:P
Was it supposed to be hard to comprehend? I just watched it and thought "cool."
It requires probably at least 5 full viewings in order to fully understand Evangelion. Anyone who has seen it only once or twice and claims to have understood everything is fooling themselves. It is THAT rich in context.

Also going to leave this here...

Maybe I'll look into it again.

I recall it being rather boring most of the time.....

I'll get my coat.

With this I shall take that extra look into it. :) And ashamed? Psssh. :sly: I definitely can't say I understood most of it, so I guess I'm safe there.

I'd like to point out that I'm the resident Mari-x-Asuka fan on EvaGeeks.

Dunno how I forgot to say this yesterday but I'm almost finished with Chuunibyou as well. So good. Rikka :embarrassed:

I'd almost start watching Psycho Pass but when my HDD got corrupted, I guess I'll wait until the series is finished and watch it straight till' the end. :ouch:

This video shows the chronology of the Jojo franchise.

As a design student, I'm actually impressed they got affiliated with Gucci. They must have really the trendy gestures the artist put into their character design.

The TV ending pretty much resolved nothing.
(Forgot to reply to this)

There was something in there, catharsis for pretty much all the main characters. This is where I felt the original ending succeeded, the characters (Which I felt was the best element of NGE), though in terms of story, yeah not very good.

I wonder what EoE does.

^ I've watched the whole TV series...(in fact I still own it)

^ I also watched D&R and EoE courtesy of RentAnime & Anime Forest DVD rentals.

-> The only once I havent watched are the later OVA/Movies with Marie on it. :)

You own Steel Angel Kurumi (Seen it, it's junk) and Green Green?

Isn't Green Green supposed to be one of the worst anime ever? I have heard nothing but very, very, very negative things about it.
