My complaint isn't so much on the treatment of Shinji, but how in the dark we are compared to the other films and series - we barely get a glimpse into the mental state of Misato and Ritsuko for example. Fuyutsuki's misgivings about Gendo's treatment of Shinji was a nice change though.

Unfortunately, because of the Shinji-centric focus of Rebuild, lots of characters get screwed over development-wise. We only really see them while they're interacting with Shinji (e.g. Asuka hadoukenning Shinji's cell window).

You suck, dude.

You don't say...

There's a difference between not informing Shinji of anything and totally leaving your audience cold though. Eva is full of moments where the audience knows something that Shinji has been kept in the dark about, but this film leaves out some really important exposition that should be included in the third film, especially considering how 2.22 ended

I don't think the movie had near enough character development. I can only hope everything will be addressed in the final movie. Rebuild 3 was still good, though. Also, dat animation.

Currently Watching -> Nanaka 6/17 ep.2. :)

I take it that you didn't find Asuka. :P

There were a couple but one was actually cute and I tried to go over to her but by the time I got to where she was she was gone and I didn't see her again. No worries, though.

Hmm...I wonder why? :P

I've never noticed Sena's boobs before. :3

It's totally OK, they're 27/28 now.

Click here for an explanation of why subtitles are much better than dubs...

Is it just me who's not sure whether to be amused or disturbed by the internet's reaction to the fact that Asuka is now 28 despite her appearance not having changed at all? Yeah... People being attracted to Asuka freaks me out, for starters because she's (up until now) 14, but also because she's altogether a rather unpleasant character.

My other question is of course, the one, the only, WHY THE HELL IS ASUKA A PIRATE?

1. At least she's not a loli. I don't see you complain about people's love for Mari, but then again she seems to have D-cups.

2. Seriously? This bollocks again?
You know well enough why Asuka is "unpleasant". Watching your mother's corpse swing from the rafters is bad enough, now imagine a 4-year-old seeing that. Don't forget that follows months of neglect from her mother in favour of a doll.

As Asuka would say, kimouchi warui.

3. She either:

a)
Lost her eye to the 9th Angel.

b)
Some of the 9th Angel remains inside her eye socket, and she wears the eyepatch to either hide the Angelic remains or protect everyone else from them.

I'm sorry, I watched Evangelion 2.22, and when Misato was doing her whole "more fanservice" thing, it hit me. Asuka is an air force captain, and now she has an eyepatch. Arrgh, me mateys... I know it's a terrible joke, but imagining Asuka walking into some stereotypical Disney pirate movie and scaring the living daylights out of all the stereotypical Disney pirates is too hilarious not to imagine.

Umm... I have complained about people's love for Mari Illustrious Sue before now.

Mary Illustrious Sue randomly turning up and selling merchandise...

I still find the whole hebophilia thing a bit concerning, but at least she's a character who serves no purpose other than fanservice. Asuka get's so much (rather disturbing, but in a way I personally find hilarious) development it seems like people are encroaching on Anno's creation (and showing a massive level of masochism) by having this attraction to her.

I know Asuka's unpleasant to others because of her horrible childhood, but that still doesn't mean you'd want to hang around her...

 at the thought of Asuka making Captain Hook her bitch.

You see? Even a weird guy like Roger gets it. You're the only creep that likes Asuka. Oh and DK. From the two of you we wouldn't get one sane guy.

Is there a problem with Asuka?

Yes. She's a 14 year old and people think she's attractive. Come on ladies and gentlemen, if you're going to be attracted to an Eva character, you've got Mr and Mrs Fanservice in Misato and Kaji, both of whom are in their twenties.

Actually, to be honest, I don't really think it's that bad if people are attracted to Asuka. At least she isn't a real 14 year old. It's just that she's a really aggressive one. She does make for some of the funniest moments in the show.

Even a weird guy like Roger gets it.

I'm not weird, I'm just bored of my inherent superiority over mere earthlings...
