*Enters thread*

*Thanks the couple of guys that were nice enough to help me instead of posting snide comments*

Thanks guys!!! Smoking deal indeed, gonna buy all four seasons of it! :)

*Leaves thread wondering why people get annoyed at the sole mention of an anime series they don't like*

Yeah, I don't get that either... It seems that if its not Howl's Moving Castle, or A Certain Scientific Railgun, or EVAGELELION, it's not anime.

Everyone watches it for the cars, Hei.

The ironic bit is that it's like they feel the need to give the racing some sort of context via character development so they can appeal to fans, when the majority of the fans really care about the racing only. If each episode was composed of 5 minutes of talking and 20 minutes of car driving screen time, the whole anime series would've been so much more thrilling.

Initial D came to me as one who perfects the art of mental strength with street racing as the medium.

Wangan Midnight was whomever could become one with their car with high-speed driving as the medium.

Though the biggest emphasis of the show is the cars, with lame stories. Now make it about racing, life etc, but without the cheesy monolugues, or the invincible people.

= Wangan Midnight?

^ According to the manga (on which the anime follows explicitly), the tone is the same. Seinen mangas tend to me more realistic and understated unlike the Shonen-based mangas. And by the way, the WM anime is grossly underrated.

Just Watched -> Wangan Midnight ep.23 & Attack on Titan ep.9

Just Read -> Love Junkies ch.76

Currently Watching -> Ano Natsu de Matteru ep.2

;)

Never really thought about posting here at all, but in recent weeks I've kinda been catching up on some more familiar series' I've never bothered watching before such as Cowboy Bebop (which I loved BTW). As well as re-watching Kaiji season 1, which is pretty much the only anime I've followed at all since 2010 thanks to one of my friend's acquaintances.

Right now I'm burning through Code Geass which didn't draw me in at all until around episode 5. I was considering dropping it initially, but I'm thankful that I didn't. Might make a start on R2 later tonight.

Yeah. I mean you can't blame them for making a story about people since that's how anyone would have gone about it. One racing anime that did it right was Capeta.

Hei
Exactly, and Takumi doesn't lose. Except that one time, then the other guy threw up before the race was over.

Omg I gotta watch that. Ep?

You'd be surprised.

Hei
They need to reinvent the car anime. Make a car anime that isn't about the cars!

Gunsmith Cats. But the anime is pretty short. Get the manga.

AAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHA dude, if there was a +rep system here, I'd give you like 5 for that. EXCELENT joke.

Thanks SK lol, but yeah. Takumi was losing, badly. Then the other racer pulls over and throws up, letting Takumi win.

Anybody still read the Bleach manga? The new chapter today was great and it looks like a whole bunch of plot holes are finally going to start being filled.

I'd still count that "trial run" with the Popcorn Evo driver as a loss for Takumi.

Regardless, that S2000 race was so plot armour.

Hei
No, they had many cheesy monologues lol, but they did do better than ID story wise.

This is one of the multiple reasons why I can't take you seriously.

^ I haven't for the past couple of months...I'm too busy reading other mangas... :indiff:

Oops I accidentally spoiled Eva 3 for myself.

DK
I've never noticed Sena's boobs before. :3

Don't worry it took me time too.

Yes. She's a 14 year old and people think she's attractive. Come on ladies and gentlemen, if you're going to be attracted to an Eva character, you've got Mr and Mrs Fanservice in Misato and Kaji, both of whom are in their twenties.

I watched it as a 14 year old and Misato was my favourite.

Holy **** it does! lolololololol

My biggest upcoming "anime" moment (if you can call it that because it isn't "anime", only something close to it) is the very up and coming release of Touhou 14. Only a demo is out thus far going through Stages 1-3 but Sakuya will finally be playable again, for the first time since like...god, Touhou 8 definitely, not sure if she was in 9...? But one thing is for certain.

The Riverdance will be the theme tune of choice for her. Even over ZUN's works. (Never did that in Touhou 7 or Soccer though...really should do it in Soccer because she is the best in the game there :/)

-> Attack on Titan is so riveting! Can't wait for the next episode!!!

Just Finished -> Oreimo season 1.

Still Waiting Manga Chapters -> Rosario Vampire Season II, Love Junkies, Over Rev, Sekirei, & Nyotai-Ka.

;)

Classy.

In other words, is it bad that when a friend and I were discussing the recently announced Sonic Lost Worlds, it turned into a debate into whether the final boss should be Ramiel or Leliel...

Evangelion penetrates all and any conversations... :scared:
