My anime schedule is basically clear, so if you've any shows (preferably new-ish) that you'd like to recommend to me, I'd be happy to consider them.

Evangelion.

So I'm about to start Eva, should I watch the Rebuild(s) of Evangelion or the television series version?

Watch the series, then End of Evangelion, then the Rebuild movies. Some people will tell you not to watch the last 2 episodes of the series. Those people are stupid. Watch them. They are part of the show.

Yeah, Sephy's right. End of Evangelion will make a whole lot more sense if you watch the original TV ending first; even if the original TV ending was a strange combination of psychoanalysis (failing at) being played for drama and a lack of animation budget being played for laughs.

And watch rebuild after you've seen the original TV series and End, Rebuild makes a whole lot more sense when you've seen End first.

Don't bother with Death & Rebirth though, it's just a recap of the TV series they showed before they released End in cinemas to keep people's memory fresh.

Someone needs to make Gendo dressed as Walter White happen. "Shinji, get in the 🤬 meth lab!"

As for Initial D vs Wangan Midnight: I prefered Initial D by a country mile. Wangan Midnight was utter crap, it was like a stretched-out Fast and the Furious movie. The Engrish was Rick Perry-class stupid, the characters were stupid (especially the character design) and the plot...what plot?

On Bleach: yes. I know it's over in Japan. The dubbed version has two more seasons to go and is scheduled to be done by September 2014.

On Funimation and Trigun: Yeah, I went and looked on Amazon after I posted and noticed Funimation has had Trigun for a few years now. Does anyone know if Sentai is doing Blu-ray? Also, I believe Funimation is publishing the second season of Eureka Seven, so, they'll probably end up publishing the first season eventually.

On another note, Wolf's Rain is available for like 7 cents if you buy each volume individually. If you want that Anime Classics version, it's $70. Those rare ones are getting more and more expensive. Stupid Bandai and their closer.
Sentai does do BD's yes, but we don't know what Bandai shows they got BD rights to (If they at all got any). Though anything that is 1080i is going to have problems (Like Big O, the BD box for that in Japan is in 1080i), this is why Penguindrum for example looks like crap on Sentai's BD's, they don't know how to encode 1080i correctly. It's why they stated a while back at a con they'll try their hardest to get progressive masters if they're available.

Initial D- Country folk
Wangan Midnight- City Folk
Overboost- Inbetween

That 'Tack on Titan....

I guess it's a nice cliffhanger to throw you in. Always find the "regenerate and level up" trick amusing even though it usually wasn't executed brilliantly.

Upcoming show: Coppelion:

Same people who made K-Project; extremely pretty PV, likely a pretty first episode, and then everything else is crap. Hopefully this won't be as bad.

Fixed. The only cool racing anime is Redline.

Not a racing anime. Cool anime, hells yeah, but not racing, any more than smash-em-up video games are racing. If you can't get over that Initial D and WM are so-so stories at best, often with rubbish animation, but with nice cars in them and occasionally good racing, then try Capeta. Great story, and also good racing.

Tailenders is similar to Redline. Do want to watch the latter again on the big screen, three times is just not enough for me to appreciate all the eye candy and bop to the thumping techno soundtrack!

I can't find any Over-Rev English scanlations beyond ~Ch.75. :indiff:

Well, they kinda race things, sot here. My point still stands that anime racing sucks, Capeta included. The story is the classic guywillovercomeallobstaclesveneloosinghiseyestoachievehisdream, and to top it all off, it doesn't even have cool cars in it, which is the only reason people watches this trash.

-> Over Rev manga is grossly underrated...

Racing manga is even worse.

I'll say it again, the only car anime and manga that is worth a damn is Gunsmith Cats, because it isn't car anime and manga.

You're all wrong. Azumanga Daioh is obviously the best racing anime...

Aha, I see what you did there. HOWEVER, you forgot Lucky Star as well. (Link will come later.)

So, after reading all these posts about racing anime, is it correct to assume that if you enjoy one of them, you're looked down upon and become a terrible anime fan? Personally, I could care less what you guys think of racing anime, especially Initial D.

Then why are you asking this nonsense? If you enjoyed it, good for you. I for once found it barely laughable, more like a pity and shame, actually. And I wouldn't know which is worse, if Initial D or Wangan Midnight. At least with WM the agony ends more or less quickly, but Initial D's got 5 freaking seasons for freak's sake.

Soon to be six and a movie. I'm not wasting my time trying to respond to this. So what if I'm the only monkey here who enjoys Initial D (and a little Wangan, but haven't watched much of it)... If you don't like it, good; if you do, good. I was only asking out of curiousity; if you guys were SO against it, that if you found anyone else who enjoyed it, they're morons. That's all I'm asking.
