Kaze Tachinu will be Miyazaki-san's last film.
he film is based on the manga of the same name, which is in turn based on a short story by Tatsuo Hori, a writer, poet and translator from mid-20th century (Showa period) Japan. Kaze Tachinu is a fictionalised biography of Jiro Horikoshi, designer of the Mitsubishi A5M (featured in the movie) and its famous successor, the Mitsubishi A6M Zero. Both were fighter aircraft that the Empire of Japan used in World War II. Miyazaki said this will be his final film.[3]

Again, you're using that one only example to imply I do it all the time. As a matter of fact, I don't, and that's the only thing you're riding on to support your point when you haven't fully considered your own case. You tend to say a lot of things suck (about as frequently as me being unhappy about a show). Well how do you formulate such an opinion? You seen and know what makes a show more enjoyable, you've seen really good stuff to identify what isn't as good. Therefore, you have established in your mind that you have a level of taste that you have refined over time. That is no different from me.

I'm not implying you do it all the time, I'm saying you are the only one who confronts the taste of people so directly and seriously.

And I never said my taste-refining process was any different than yours. In fact the taste-refining (defning) process of everyone goes pretty much in the same way, I'd reckon. If you think about it, it's pretty logical.

You also tend to mention something sucks when you respond to someone liking said show. While that is an opinion, putting it in such a way that also degrades the opinion of the person you responded to. Yet I'm the only one who's at fault for "practicing" this? I've seen you tell others shows are trash, but it wasn't presented like an opinion. I started doing it too, and now I'm getting crap for it. Refer back to the beginning of this paragraph. That's not so different form me, now is it? This is what I ain't happy about.

I've always said shows suck or are trash and have said why they are, thusly presenting my opinion and backing it with reasons. While you might be right when you say that it somewhat degrades other people's opinion, I also do it that way so that it won't be taken as seriously as saying "your taste sucks, go see more shows so it'll get better" as Seph sez up there (altough ignorant I'm not). If I'm asked to back up what I say, I'll give reasons as to why I think something sucks.

Difference: opinion on the show, not opinion on the person's taste. The fact that someone likes a show doesn't show me the entirety of their taste, and viceversa. Yet you have dissed people's taste after they talk about a single show, as if they liking that show would somehow tell you what their taste is.

We all have our guilty pleasures (:

Stop what you're doing and watch episode one of Kill la Kill, you'll thank me later.

That first episode was just amazing.

Does Aniplex (www.aniplexchannel.com) only use Hulu videos? I tried to watch Kill la Kill on my school laptop (may not've been a good idea in the first place, but at one point I watched Hell Girl on it and was O.K) and the blockers, intrusive as always, stopped me.

On an unrelated note, I need to start Eva soon. I don't feel like starting another series, as I still have yet to finish Hell Girl and Upotte (I know....)

EDIT: Just realized how contradictory this post is.

UPDATE: THAT.WAS.AWESOME. I'm following Kill la Kill now. And I'm pretty sure Daisuki will be blocked on my school laptop soon but it was worth it. Oh and thanks TheCorvette 👍

It hurts you-know-where.

I hope TGAT has a good weekend. I will be out filming all weekend at Escapist Expo. Working at least 10 hour days for 3 days. It's a good opportunity for us. Will be a fun/productive weekend. Please wish us luck! <3 you all. Check out my Youtube for daily Escapist updates and final panel/interview/concert/montage/random videos!

Fine. I'm trusting you on this, because you don't usually let me down with random suggestions. If it ends up sucking(at any point), I'll say mean things to you.

Dude. This does look promising, at least graphically, and well, it's pretty damn odd.

Favourite Horror?

HOTD? Really? That was a candidate? Granted I haven't watched that, Hell Girl, School Days, nor Blood-C, my favourite horror would probably be Another. I guess I have traditional tastes when it comes to horror and Another runs with this ideal. Execution was off at some points but it managed to present a surprise ending.

I almost don't want to constitute any of the rest as horror. If I'm watching a horror, I'm going to want to experience tons and tons of fear, and stuff happening where murder happens where no one gets noticed. Higurashi had its moments, but it stopped its gruesome factor after they left the Shion arc. Mirai Nikki was just a game of killing, with a few scenes in the dark. That's not enough to call it a horror IMO. Plus, it started moving towards sci-fi at the end. As for Elfen Lied... I don't know. I really don't know. All I can recall is a girl who rages at everything and lots of body parts being cut off. Not even in an extremely graphic way... it just happens, we got a shot of the body for a few seconds and then it moves on. Again my memory is vague, but the conflict presented didn't seem entirely solid.
