Seen Madoka Magica Rebellion at the theater today. It was absolutely stunning on the big screen. There was this chick cosplaying as Ultimate Madoka and she started crying when it was done. Her cosplaying friends Mami and Kyouko had to console her.

I don't know why otakus love redonkulously sized breasts, but they are the major target audience for artists.

It was recently announced that it will be in theaters in Mexico. So going.

Really? Really???

Besides, anime breast size are pretty tame compared to hentai breast size. Now that's truly redonkulous to the point of not being attractive any more.

Those are the ones I'm actually referring to. I often bunch the two medias together.

Dammit, I just realised I missed out on post #50000 in this thread.

Unfortunately, artists need a decent salary, just like any human being. It's just sad to see the masses have poor taste imo. But then again, that's with most things in pop culture.

Even though the minority isn't the one "heading into a confusing direction" – to quote your words, I like to think it's better to influence a change in the majority to add some more flavour into what can be more welcomed in general media. Remember, media is a powerful influence on our lives. Artists influence our tastes more than you may think. Fashion, TV, music, and even games.

Wouldn't a starting mangaka begin in one of those manga magazines? But nonetheless, they must give in to a publication's demands, just like an author would with their book. Popular media puts a huge influence in all of us in the end. I mean, why would boys draw groins whenever they're given the chance?
Wait, so how does a manga become a fleshed-out anime? Only when it's successful enough to fund an animation?

Has anyone ever watched Magi? Not Madoka, the Middle-East-themed one

I think if you draw from the roots, it can actually be the other way around; we can influence what media will become. Or slowly change to be. Video artists do this often, except it gets a very small audience unfortunately.

If we were in a world where that was seen as an attractive thing, then it would happen. Based on history, it's the other way around.

That I have no solid answer for. My only relevant source is from watching Bakuman, and mangas that become popular enough are serialized by a publisher, and if producers from anime studios see any titles gaining fame, they'll adapt the story and do it their way. Obviously they'll follow the plot and storyboard as close as they can unless they're not as talented as I make them seem.

I love it PLEASE DON'T JUDGE ME ;-;

Jeez, relax with that already.

Please don't forget having an opinion on a show is equal to an opinion that disagrees with it. It's not judging- just a reminder in case some of you may have forgot.

Bakuman. gives an idea of it, but you can really get a good idea here.

Simply once a publisher wants to promote a series with an anime (As the anime is basically just one huge advertisement. You'd be amazed at how much sales of the source material can increase (Which is their goal, they want increased manga sales) through an anime.), they'll try and get together with other companies that would benefit and they form the production committee. From there positions like director, series composition, etc. are given, and an animation studio will be hired (Though they can get on the production committee through certain connections) to animate the series. The production committee makes a bunch of the various decisions.

These days though you typically see just one season and that's it unless there's another reason to continue (Ex: HUGE home video sales). Why keep promoting one series with an anime when you can promote multiple ones with just one 1 cour or 2 cour adaptation? We're even seeing 10 episode adaptations. Why do 12/13 episodes when you can still get the same sales increase from 10?

Yes I have and I'm not big of a fan of it, especially that awful filler towards the end of season 1. As I hear from manga readers, they rushed through a few years worth of material.

The currently airing season 2 is covering stuff that the manga covered less than a year ago, and is already close to diverging. Mark another one up for not so good adaptations.

@AOS- & @TheCorvette

Thanks for the answers. I've completely forgot about Bakuman - maybe I should watch it sometime next year. As for that link, I was looking for that particular article for months now.

One of my friends told me about it so I started watching the anime. Pretty good so far but my friend also warned me about how it didn't adapt well with the manga, and now my anticipations are answered.

Just started to watch Ikki-Tousen and so far the only thing i understand about this anime is.. Panty shots and lots of them. very other scene is a panty shot, and big boobs. guessing this may be one of the ultimate fan service anime of all time

I don't know if you noticed yet, Jon, but Galilei Donna was apparently finished on episode 11. I am deeply saddened by this flop.

Its lightly based off Romance of the Three Kingdoms.

I figured that would've been the end goal of the show.... turns out it wasn't. Should've been if you ask me. Perhaps they were cut short.

spoiler: They were caught way too easy..the trial seem quick and pretty cliche. I am hoping for a season two.

The Three Kingdoms is originally about Three Chinese Kingdoms (Zhu, Wei, and Wu) that each try to unify China as a whole. Though I think that Shu can out the victor....There were some female roles but not many.
