Man, Space Dandy ain't doing anything. :indiff:
Watanabe himself IIRC stated it wouldn't really be a show to be taken seriously so...
This list is so dumb I find it almost funny.
You don't know what's really happening, do you? Bam!

IS2 adds 1143 BDs, total 16,151.
It's not going to average particularly high compared to season 1 (Remember the first volume was supposed to be an OVA but then ended up being the extended version of episode 1), hell it won't come even remotely close to what season 1 did which was like over 30,000 (Can't get the exact numbers since Mania is still down), the second most successful show of winter 2011. The drop isn't going to kill the chances of a season 3, but this is still quite the drastic drop from the first season. Wonder where it'll average when all seven volumes are out...

Also bleh, Arpeggio ranking so high. I've looked on Amazon Japan reviews for the first volume, many reviewers say the CGI is good which makes me want to gag. Still hoping CGI-only doesn't become more of a thing unless they can get it right (You can't cut corners with it like you can with 2D).
I could have seen the first two Madoka movies on the movie screen, but I didn't and I wish I did.
You really should have, getting to see anime on the big screen is a ridiculously rare thing here. Sure it's rare in Japan, but things are easier there.

I should be ashamed of myself, huh?
Just saying you missed out on quite the rare opportunity. Aside from Ghibli (And The Wind Rises is probably the last time we'll see a wide anime release), nothing gets a good chance on the big screen here.

RaleighWood played NGE 3.0 last night. I didn't go. I'm a terrible fan. :(
I skipped the majority of the series, then went back to rewatch it all. Almost like how I skipped the entire series of Monster but I kept myself together till the end.

I managed to miss all of the European screenings of 3.0.

As in, the single screening they had in London at 4 in the morning.

It's truly a shame we can't really get to experience seeing this stuff on the big screen ever (And plenty of anime can benefit from a larger screen. I'm looking at you Evangelion and Garden of Sinners.), but alas, that's what you have to deal with when you're in a niche hobby.

Only real hope we have is maybe if The Wind Rises when it gets that Oscar nomination (Highly doubtful it'd win, Disney would rather get Frozen, their own film to win) could cause some change in how people perceive animation as this seems to be more adult-oriented compared to the mostly child-friendly Spirited Away. More people might start taking an interest in anime, and you could see it get into like 500 theaters (Really wide releases get 3,000+) or something. Though that's me being ridiculous, it probably won't happen.

Also I hate this, here it says one place in Minnesota will be playing 3.0.

Here Minnesota isn't listed anywhere at all.

I wound up buying the Madoka blu-ray as its price suddenly nose dived to be below the price of the DVD on Amazon.

Just finished Sekirei and Attack on Titan, those are two shows I recommend you not watch at the same time like I did.

AoT is, just, just amazing.

Sorry, couldn't help it. I totally agree with the entirety of your post but I couldn't let such a chance pass (:

@Snaeper
You should read the manga next. There's some bits the show left out or skipped from the manga.
I'm normally pretty casual when it comes to these things (i've only ever watched Anime when it was on TV while growing up, and now on Netflix or Youtube), but I think I just might, this series is just that awesome.

EDIT: On a side note, can anyone explain Funimations membership? I was watching episodes of Fairy Tail but they locked me out. Is it worth getting if I only want to watch Fairy Tail? I also want to watch the remaining episodes of FMA:B that are not on Netflix.

Is there an alternative place to watch them? Ideally with the dub, as I've seen so much that I'm attached to those voice actors.

FUNimation on their site has what's known as an Elite Video Subscription (EVS), for around $8 a month you can watch anything exclusive to members which are typically dubs (The vast majority of the time FUNimation streams only the first few episodes of the dub for free (For a limited time they occasionally stream it in full), and the entire series subbed for free, so if you want dubs, you'll want EVS.), HD ad-free videos, now simulcasts when they're new (So they're now adopting the Crunchyroll model. Free users have to wait a week to see simulcasts.), and a few other things like extras found on DVD/BD releases and episodes before free users can see them.

To continue on my previous post, much of that is me also wishing for the animation age ghetto to end, I've gotten tired of it recently (Must be partly due to my job at the movie theater and seeing all these CGI kid's movies). Why must we make animation for kids (And also to be a toy commercial because those kids really like toys!), or when it's for adults, just a comedy? Why must all animated movies in theaters these days be family-friendly offerings that are CGI-only and merely watching only a few in the span of a few months can give you too much of the "been there done that" feeling? Where the 🤬 is 2D and variety?

It sucks how most people don't see the potential of animation. Anime has shown time and time again what you can do with a much smaller budget compared to those Hollywood blockbusters that lose $100+ million because the studios were stupid with their expectations. It can be a serious storytelling medium. Yes it can be a great storytelling medium for kids (Which BTW has also unfortunately led to animation being wrongly classified as a genre), it can have vulgar humor, but my god, it can be used for more than that.

Oscar nominations are out, as expected, The Wind Rises is the only anime to make the cut. All over the internet very ignorant Madoka fans weep, and some A Letter to Momo ones.

Dang. Read some reviews on Rebellions and I have to agree to some of their thoughts on how it falls in some regards.

Yep, I mean look on Rotten Tomatoes, ZERO reviews.

Multiple sources via Wikpedia
Hope Chapman of Anime News Network gave the film a B rating, praising its gorgeous visuals and creativity, but citing the film's last-minute twist as "mean-spirited and ludicrously out-of-character."

Richard Eisenbeis and Toshina Kamura at Kotaku reviewed the film positively.

Toshi's final thoughts being, "Aside from my aforementioned problems with the pace of the initial mystery, I loved everything else about the movie. It plays with your emotions like crazy, but at the same time, it’s emotionally fluid. While you might not agree with characters' choices and actions, they all make sense and are never forced."

Richard's final thoughts were, "Personally, I loved it. It's a great character piece and a worthy addition to the franchise, but it is far from an uplifting cap to the series."

I think a lot of people would be interested in Madoka if they were open minded and actually knew it existed.

As much as I hate to this in the GAT...
Any anime predominately featuring little girls is going to struggle for a fan base.
Plain and simple, for most of us it's creepy.

"Us" as in those who aren't quite accustomed to Japanese media/culture. I wasn't big on it either; I'm still not today, but it partially grew on me so I'm a bit more tolerant towards it. Especially if there's such an unexpected twist like there was in Madoka. :D
