Even if something sucks in the eyes of one, or just actually truly sucks, there are shows that I consider a 'must watch' whether they be good or bad. Initial D is one them if you're into cars, or not, I've been surprised by some people. It's like, how can one not watch 'x' show?

Personally, as much as I don't like Evangelion it's a show that anyone getting into anime should probably dive into at one point or another. No harm done really. Unless you fear Cano saying 'you suck' to you.

SVX
But look at it this way, you yourself watched Initial D to try it out and see if you like it, so why not allow Tayeez to do the same?

@Cano and I are the anime enforcement police. If you watch Initial D we come around your house and harvest your organs.*

People can watch Initial D all they like, but it's disappointing if they prioritise it in their viewing over something which relies on more than just having some cool cars in it for its shtick. (Nichijou. Seriously, watch Nichijou. Nichijou is almost as funny as Nick Clegg looking sad.)

Dear NSA, this is sarcasm.

-> Just watched Madoka's 3rd movie on NF (subtitles mind you), it was compelling...but meh overall. Madoka's voice was sweet though!

(flame suit on)

Or, y'know, alternatively watching this:

I've completed Girls und Panzer and Kantai Collection - military-related anime with crazy setting (as I thought), and heard of Strike Witches. Recently, I finally decided to see the first episode of this. My first thought was: "Jeez! What did they smoke (the authors)?!" Now I understand that GuP and KanColle are not any crazy, compared to SW :D
I'll continue and see if I like it, or drop.

Speaking of Initial D, I looked at Fifth Stage the other day. Not a bad reboot though the battle between Hojo and Ryousuke was one of the most strangest battles I can remember in Initial D (I don't remember a whole lot, mind you).

Looking at Strike the Blood and I honestly don't know why I've watched up to ep8. I dislike everyone so far and the character interaction is so cringe... Only redeeming thing is the action which is nicely choreographed. And the fan service... I'm truly baffled.

If media could give you venereal diseases I think this one would be at the heart of South Africa right now.

I don't expect to see the same sort of opinion towards Strike Witches when you return.

Thanks for the heads up, I had that on a (not even joking) year long hiatus after watching the first episode.

watching paint cry

I had no idea that paint could cry. Better be sure to not make my walls sad now

All this over Initial D, well I guess I'll give it a taste tomorrow seeing that I've finished Death Parade tonight.

Speaking of which, Death Parade was actually good. I see the praise behind it and the Funimation dub was cool. Ending was decent at best. Worth the watch I say.

@Not_A_Guest no venereal diseases near here. I went outside and took a look

Nichijou has my interest though but agh, Too much anime to watch and too many decisions with limited time.

Careful you don't spend too long on them while commuting

The commute is only an hour at most. Phone screens are too tiny for me, the Autodesk Sketchbook app crashes a lot and I haven't figured out if I can change brush sizes. So with those limitations in mind, I may use it to practice drawing specific body parts... like noses, lips, hands and feet. Especially hands. Hands look so good and if you can draw these things, then by god you are well on your way to being an skilled artist.

Just saying bro. Anyways, hands were always the hardest body part for me. I'm doing a piece with hands and I spend a little too long on them

In that first Izumi drawing, I went and drew every knuckle like a telescopic joint in hopes that would help me visualize how each joint would be angled had the finger curled a certain way.

It's times like these I wonder what other artists are thinking when they can draw hands in a stylized way and still not lose a "correct" look to it. Especially when it comes to the finger tips. They either square them off or they taper them. When I do it, it looks extremely flat, but when they do it, it looks perfectly acceptable. (shrugs)

You do that when we separate? I just steal cookies from kitchens  that explains the blood stains, though.

But let's see it anyway. :)

Oh yeah, you bet. I'm actually liking it quite a lot. The body is all doodled up. Detailing and face should happen tomorrow.

The weird thing is that I actually LOVE IT! :D

Aaaand cue Cano's wallet commiting seppuku after seeing that picture. On the plus side, Fuu figure, so you now have another reason to like her, I'm correct? Not that you lacked them to begin with, but...

No, my wallet has already commited seppuku, I took that picture.

Waifu for lifu, my friend.

We also have Umi, whom I'll be showing you shortly, and Hikaru is coming right now all the way from Japan, since she was the last one to be released. First was Umi two months ago, then Fuu a month later, and Hikaru has been out for about three weeks.

So you already own a Fuu (good lord, that sounds terrible out of context), eh? Figures, knowing your true Waifu calling. Or as you'd probably call, a WaiFuu, get it?

And it seems that you're going for the full set of Rayearth main protagonists, and nothing wrong with that. If anything, you'll have three new reasons to love Rayearth even more, and they're all good...

I kinda forget you are relatively new to the thread's community, I just assumed you knew this. My wife and I have been big Rayearth fans since it was shown on TV here almost 20 yars ago, and have been amassing a small but growing Rayearth collection since we discovered E-Bay. We have almost all the figurines that have been released -we're missing a very very rare chibi set and a SEGA set that is just so horribly made that we haven't grabbed it yet, and the super-expensive/rare resin kits- and all sorts of stuff, from all the artbooks to pins, towells, plushes, and are considering our first cell purchase... Fuu of course. So yeah, let's just say we're going for the full set

And I really, really like that WaiFuu thing. I can't believe I didn't come up with that before.

I knew that somewhat, but not its full extent. I do know that you and your wife share the same undying passion for Rayearth (which is both romantic and touching at the same time), but I had no idea that it spread that far when it comes to your collection. It's insane, really, but somewhat understandable. It is your favorite show after all, right?

And I'm glad my average pun could actually prove itself to be good. Feel free to use it, just don't forget to credit me for it, haha.

On the romance thing and how far it spreads, you could arguably say that we met because of Rayearth. I first met my wife in an anime forum in a thread about... guess what. True story.

and... favorite show? Mmmmhhh no, I wouldn't say so. The one that touched me the most and marked my life the most, yes. Which is a way higher order than favorite show.

Hey, a wife that shares the same passion for your hobbies? You got lucky there, most wifes would probably not give two :censored:s about hobbies.

And well, if it isn't your main favorite (which one is, by the way? FLCL? Cowboy Bebop?), it's still pretty high up the list, I reckon. Otherwise, would it be so influential for your life?
