I beg to differ.
Certainly SnK is a lot more thought-provoking than Upotte and the like, but it doesn't really compare to a lot of other works in a multitude of areas. It's also not as dark as a few others out there.
The animation is stellar but that can't cover for other flaws.

Then again, I watched Date a Live. And enjoyed it.

I realize now I wasn't being very specific in what I meant. It's dark and demented in a writer's point of view (not a content), in the way they flaunt certain plot points right in front of you and you have no idea what is going on. I could just see the author/show writers giggling at how certain themes would pass right over someone's head when reading or watching the first time through, only to have some mind-blowing realization later, only to come back and feel like a fool when you missed all of the blatant clues laid out for you the first time through.

I can get that.
I'm not a very deep reader though, so this happens to me for a lot of media that I take in. Catch-22 was a good example, but that's not anime so I shouldn't discuss it here :P

Also where'd you get that kickass profile picture from?

I tried. I really did.

Camera exaggerates the colour a bit, though. Much bolder and doesn't look as rubbed out in some areas.

Original, for reference.

Also, apologies for no drawing from me. Had school and been sick, so drawing hasn't really been on my mind. Was about to do it until I realized I hadn't tried out the tissue trick.

Some unknown male voice actor with average talent and voice for Cano (unless he's willing to do the role himself, haha), and a female voice actress with a very obnoxious and grating (not to mention loud) voice. Or we could hire really famous voice actors and then I could say that Cano was voiced by Takehito Koyasu or some crazy s:censored: like that, haha.

I once tried my hand at dubbing. Sucked. So I'll have average japanese good guy voice actor #456587 please.

J-pop in the soundtrack? Baka please. Go exploring some more.

No. It's a moeblob, it needs sucky music too. Where's your commercial vision?

10/10
Don't forget that Toei has to do it!

Ah, indeed. The perfect complement for everything else 👍 just imagine that

On this side of the world , today is Friday.
Friday means all persons in this thread that are partaking in the exercise of weekly drawing should be nearly complete with this weeks eye & art candy.
I'm interested to see what this week holds :)

Mine's almost ready, I'm still detailing it. It will be posted in due time.

You once tried your hand at dubbing? Add that to the "Things I didn't know about Cano, but now I do" list, never thought you'd actually work within that area. Too bad it didn't turn out to your calling, but at least you tried.

You should make a blog about your life. Maybe expand that blog in your sig to fit in that feature

What a coincidence! I already did about a year ago!

There's two, the one that's public (Epic Collage), and the other is a life-long notepad about levelling myself up. Knowledge, tips, surviving and honing other abilities.

Yup, a guy I knew did dubbing a lot and was like "dude come try", so I went to an audition for... Love Hina  In the end the project was cancelled and the anime never aired here.

Cano in a slice-of-life-and-also-harem show? Man, it all fits together, you were made for that genre of show! Well, you know people in the dubbing biz, I can't quite say the same. But at least you have a story to tell your children/nephews and such...

Oh no, never. That should never leave this forum.

The guy I knew (have not seen him in YEARS, he was a friend of my brother) actually ended up getting something in the project after that audition.

"What happens in TGAT, stays in TGAT"? I guess that's the right thing to do, after all. That should also be a slogan for this thread, really.

Oh, the guy you knew ended up being involved in the project? Have you heard anything else regarding that to this day?

I don't even remember  it was almost 15 years ago dude! I barely remember what I ate yesterday.

Haha, fair enough. It would be pretty hard to remember such a random fact from 15 years agod, really. Still, you got close enough to be a voice actor. You didn't get there, but we know that if you had a show based on your life, we could always tell you to do the role based on your character.

No, not at all. I mean I sucked. Hell I could tell right away I sucked. I imagine the people doing the audition were laughing at me in ther inside.

SVX
Had school
I feel sorry for you. Summer is rather boring here in the USA but at least we don't have angry teachers to contend with right now.

I would want to go to AX but I don't have any transport
At least San Diego Comic-Con is literally less than 20 miles from here.
I went there last year; missed registration this year because I was at a family reunion.

BT -> Is anyone going to Anime Expo this July?

-> Just curious. ;)

Not me but if you're going it'll be nice if you posted some pics of your trip here.

I spent last week and this week doing nothing, but I'll have to kick up a gear soon.

Self-studying with a textbook from school will keep me occupied for the time being.

In more important news, Oregairu doesn't go anywhere but shows a lot of character development at the same time. I like it.

They realized what a big mistake they made and canceled the project entirely. Hoo! *squeezin' that lemon*

Find me some Fuus!

And then show them some pity.

Not yet. After nearly vomiting after watching the first episode I just rewatched a little Date A Live to calm my stomach.

I think I'm brave enough to go back again...

uh

"Hestia Factor". That's all you really need to know about that. Most people tend to know that show all thanks to the "Hestia Factor", for the better or worst...

Also, no, I didn't forget, here's mine for the week:

I'd pity the Fuu who would have to go through all those "Fool" puns. Wait, that's not how I wanted to put it...

Also, tremendous drawing. You may not have the talent to be a voice actor, but drawing is a whole different story. I wish I had 3/4s of your talent, really. I'd say it was worth the waiting to see it, since it is a darn fine job from your part. 👍
