I heard somewhere that the GT-R R35's design was somewhat inspired by Gundam. Is that true?

I doubt it. Where'd you hear that?

I mean, it's not out of the ballpark considering there's a Gundam Cafe and an actual physics society thriving to bring some of the technology from Gundam to real use.

I hope you aren't mixing Gundams up with Transformers.

Rykon,, there's already a gundam that runs on manly spirit. It's called Gurren Lagann.

I've never heard that but it wouldn't surprise me. Gundam is HUGE in Japan. So is EVA. That stuff needs to be everywhere here like it is there :(

All of TTGL is manly spirit!

Holy. 🤬.

I already knew I would like this, but for real? You're immersed in liquid...how unorthodox. I must watch more.

Wait until you find out what that liquid actually is.

Oh and remember the order. Watch the show, then End Of Evangelion, then the Rebuild movies.

@ Sephy, 👎

Good luck trying it on me.

:P

:P You'll give in eventually.

Berserk, FTMFW. :odd:

I think I love Misato. Am I right to presume at this point (DON'T spoil anything; yes or no will suffice) that the Eva units are bio-organic?

Don't get any funny ideas. Misato is mine. 👍

And yes.

This. And actually, I'd recommend watching End of Evangelion instead of the original 25th and 26th episodes. You can watch them later as a supplement to EoE if you're interested, but I definitely don't think their viewing is all that necessary. They're only a little more necessary than Death and Rebirth, which is not necessary or recommended viewing at all.

Haha don't mess with this man's Misato!

And I think 25 and 26 are worth viewing if just for the quick alternate world in episode 26. But yes if you watch 25 and 26 and EoE then Death & Rebirth is not required. It's actually very pointless. However you should watch Re: Death. It's effing [Jayne]Hi-larious[/Jayne]! Only watch it after the show though because it has spoilers.

Oh and for those who haven't seen EoE it is actually 2 episodes. So about 40 minutes in when full credits start rolling don't get upset. There's still the second half to watch lol.

No, she's mine!

Being the curious person that I am, I paid another visit to the EvaWiki and wow -- LCL is borderline mystical. I definitely like, neigh, love almost every aspect of this. Just finished Ep. 3 and I was little boggled seeing Unit 01 with almost human-like hands and singed flesh.

I...I need more.

Try not to look at the Wiki too much. There's some massive spoilers on that site.

Of course. I only wanted to know what LCL was and to be honest...I still don't.

I only know where it came from and how it's utilized; how both came to is something I'll either find out down the line or not at all. Does LCL mean anything? I hate acronyms/abbreviations that are never elaborated on.

Nah it's never said what it stands for.

I'm amazed. It took me over 15 episodes to begin liking it....

Because there's no sappy love story?

Who just finished Index II? This guy.

This series overall was pretty good and I thank AOS- for recommending it. The ending felt kind of weak though. I'll miss Kuroko :( (no pedo)

Yeah. Watched everything. Pretty sure we've talked about those specials too. They are amazing!

Because there's no sappy love story?

Nope...

You talking about the first time the 00-Raiser went Trans Am?

I was honestly thinking more along the lines of then 00 Quanti ripped open a hole in space to warp to go to the aliens' home planet to learn about them

I see where this is going though

Oh, that was definitely teleporting then. :P

FTL, to be exact.

hahaha, very good one, bud.

Also, I didin't know you hadn't watched EVA,, Terronium. Keep on it in stark contrast with our resident spicer-of-lifer here. You'll eat EVA in one chomp.

I'm DL'ing the series in it's entirety now so viewing is halted. The site I was watching them on beforehand had such horrible quality I couldn't stand it anymore.

I know it's old and everything, but really?

On a lighter note, I sit here searching for pictures to use in the avatar I'm still working on and this comes up:

Now, I may be wrong, but I'm certain she's not a Gundam.

That screen shot is actually from my favorite part out of the specials. I laughed so hard! My second favorite part is where Ruiko lifts Uiharu's skirt and just the way she says her name is great!

Gundam technology is coming a long way!

You talking about the first time the 00-Raiser went Trans Am? That wasn't so much teleporting, it was more along the lines of spatial re-positioning. Kind of like what the F91 is capable of doing once it starts discharging heat, except the 00 does it by cloaking within tightly-knit GN particles.

Damn, nerd! I was think like yes, I've seen a Gundam regenerate, but don't remember who. You knew the exact scene!

Mhm. An incredibly pompous SOB (for good reason, mind you) but was defeated in the end. Kamille also experienced mental instability, although to a far greater degree since Scirocco died and everything.

EDIT: Wait, I have that bass-ackwards. Scirocco just died, Kamille was the only one (to my recollection) that was mentally unstable by the end of Zeta.

fixed! Somebody here is still in the middle of Zeta, sheesh! Edit: huh, funny, spoilering an unspilered quote apparently does nothing...

I heard that, too.

wikipedia
Nissan chief creative officer, Shirō Nakamura, has likened the new GT-R to the eponymous giant robots of the Gundam series. Nakamura stated: "The GT-R is unique because it is not simply a copy of a European-designed supercar; it had to really reflect Japanese culture."
Nakamura noted that the GT-R's square lines and vents were influenced by Gundam robots. Nissan's American designers sculpted the rear three quarters of the vehicle, while their European designers sculpted the roofline. (referencing a businessweek.com article)
