That reminds me, why the hell haven't you watched it yet?

I mostly just hate how everyone pronounces Madoka's name(as posted earlier) and how nasally Sayaka sounds...

Because I stick with legal ways to watch anime...Have you forgotten?

I haven't seen a fansub in over a year and half, and before that, a year.

Looks like you'll never be watching Bokurano then... unless you learn Japanese. :(

I may rethink things when it comes to titles that will probably never get licensed, or come back into print however.

As of now, no. Once it comes out in February, yes.
Buy it when it's released, you will love it.
I probably will, but with Fate/Zero coming out for $370 in March (Possibly my only chance to own it physically. Madoka luckily isn't limited-edition only.), buying it may have to come later.

The final episode airs next Saturday. Also, I'm not going to take the chance of passing up on it. I do not want to regret passing up a chance to own it, especially when it WILL go for inflated prices when it sells out before it's release date like Garden of Sinners did.

Garden of Sinners for example came out almost a year ago, and there has been no news of it coming out ever again. Your only other option is video rentals on the PlayStation Store, that's it. I'm never satisfied with just digital downloads, rentals, or streams. I want to own it physically.

Yes, this literally did sell out.

Also, Fate/Zero has no DVD's in Japan at all, so a DVD release here is unlikely. And who knows if anyone will ever pick it up after Fate/Zero sells out.

Evidence there are no DVD's.

Well, the original is a good place to start, but to be honest I haven't seen it yet, either, and while it launched an epic franchise, most people think it's just good, not great. 00 was however great, especially for being modern and having increased production values. Zeta was better for story though in my opinion. Gundam wing never really attracted my attention, so I can't say, but it looks like it should be last of the four in your to-watch list. I'd say:

1) Gundam (and I'll join you in watching it)
2) Zeta
3) 00
4) Wing

Whut. If it's Soryu, who's gonna be Mikuru? Hikari? :odd:

Judging by...ahem...certain anatomical parts, she looks a good bit older than 14 there.
Has anyone watched Persona 4 The Animation ? And Initial D  ?
I've seen Initial D. It turned me into an anime geek.

Misato. (Look at adult Mikuru)

And I watched every episode up to Someday in the Rain. Where we learned:

Mikuru is a terrible hero;

Haruhi wants to be a Vocaloid;

And Yuki does Tool Assisted Speedruns.

Jeff hit the nail right on the head. While you can watch either 00 or Wing in any order and not be lost, the order above is really the optimal choice. MSZ is the direct sequel to MSG (0079 - 0087).

You also can't forget A Wakening of the Trailblazer, G 00's direct sequel and ending (which is incredibly unfortunate considering how...incomplete the movie feels). It's great but compared to the flow of events established throughout seasons 1 and 2, Trailblazer feels all in your face forcing you to accept something that's never truly explained properly. Such is the way with Gundam OVA's; some are better than others. It falls in-between "It's definitely worth watching" and "If you haven't paid enough attention to the details in S1 and 2, you won't understand a damn thing".

Because $370 for 13 episodes of an above-average show isn't inflated enough
First off, you can't really say it's above-average when you haven't seen it. IIRC you still haven't seen it as Fate/stay night is still on-hold for you.

And this is why this release is not for you. Aniplex USA does not care about the people complaining about the price, they care only for those who are willing to buy this. They're marketing this towards the very passionate fans, people who import anime (There are more people who import Japanese releases than you think. I've run into many, many, many people on various forums who do so.), want it now (You want it same day, you pay import prices.), and or physically with very appealing extras, packaging, and premium items.

They aren't forcing people to get this however as you still will have legal streams on Crunchyroll. This is a better deal than what Garden of Sinners got. You have to keep paying to keep watching it as it's only rentals.

To you it's not worth getting, but to me it is. I got the Rurouni Kenshin: Trust & Betrayal LE BD import. It was $65 (The retail price was $82, the Japanese paid more than $100.) for 4 30 minute OVA episodes, and I couldn't be happier with it (Especially since I absolutely loved T&B. I find it one of the greatest anime ever created.). The value of these sets is different for everyone.

Also if you want true inflation, take a look at how much Garden of Sinners (Made by Type-Moon, the same guys who worked on Fate/Zero.) is going for. At Japanese prices this would definitely be overpriced.

BTW, speaking of imports, I'm willing to import this (It has the English dub, and English subs.) as the chances of this ever coming to America is next to none. The Big O will remain having DVD's only in North America.

Conversions from Google:
37800 Japanese yen = 485.4881 US dollars
27717 Japanese yen = 355.9861 US dollars
If you want to know the episode count, it has all 26 episodes (Episodes 14-26 were co-produced by Cartoon Network due to how well it was received here.).

Thanks, guess I'll go with that order.:)I'll be done with getting through many of these on-holds in February/March so I'll finally be watching stuff I haven't seen.

I don't know the extent of jeff's Gundam geekery (he never speaks up, really :P), but if you ever get lost, I'm always around to make things worse.

I enjoy Gundam quite a bit, but I'm far from being able to help much with sorting out details. What I've seen I've only seen once, and spread out over years...

I've been wanting to see that (and the Gundam Cafe) since it went up, but I don't have the funds to go to Japan.

Not a bad list by any means.

Watch Gundam Ball G (G Gundam) it's awesome. Incredibly different...but awesome.

Am I the only one NOT thinking that?

That 🤬 isn't getting real in GC? You might be...yeah. :P

This is probably what happens if you ever wander into the women's changing rooms at Gurren Brigade HQ.

I'd risk it.

No Gundam UC?

Blue Destiny is good. A bit short for my tastes, but good nonetheless.

So much Gundam. We probably will hit a point where there's OVER 9,000 Gundams!!!!

-Post 1,000
I've posted a few times outside the thread, so who knows how many I've made in the actual thread.

1,000 posts in 3 months and 10 days, not bad.
