The server is up for some early practice. Qualifying will start at 5:30pm EDT.
And 🤬 my friends that cancelled the plans last hour. For 🤬 sake. I still have to much to do to make it to the second race. Dammit...
@Johnnypenso comeback this evening? You're getting to addicted to Rocket league!![]()
Physical sports? At your age?Rocket League sucked me in like a young Darth Vader. I can feel the darkside losing it's grip soon though. I discovered hockey in RL and have been playing that almost exclusively since and I feel I'm finally getting the hang of it. It's a lot of fun when you are playing with guys that really understand the rhythm of the game and it's most important element - defense. There's a matchmaking system and now that I've got some time under my belt it seems to pair me up mostly with guys that can really play.
That's hockey in Rocket League, not hockey in Real LifePhysical sports? At your age?I'd wager working out for the GVRC suits a geezer best.
Sorry I've been absent last couple of weeks, I haven't done anything in AC at all since becoming addicted to iRacing, and so I've been forgoing doing any sort of practice. AC is quite different to iRacing so when I get on it it takes a bit to get reacquainted.
Anyway I'll try harder to stay involved. I do apologise, I enjoy our races and talks.
I have yet to try the Ginetta
May i propose the NSX at Bridgehampton? Great fun as a combo.I'm actually starting to run out of cars to choose for the club. I probably won't ever run many of the open-wheel cars or hyper cars because most are hard to drive and probably wouldn't make for good racing since we have a wide range of skill here (and most just don't interest me). I've stayed away from street cars so far but I'll probably feature a few of those soon.

The new Mustang or Corvette at Mugello is a good combination. Lots of torque down low and tall transmission lead to less gear changes and less mistakes.
Barbagallo in the Lotus Evora GTE...
I'm guessing you are talking about the off camber corner that leads on to the straight? As in the second last corner? It's an awesome corner but yeah requires good brake control and I can see a lot of people playing in the dirt there. The Lotus is on my list. Barbagallo I'm unsure of though, there's at least one really nasty turn that I've failed to successfully navigate even after many attempts.I've tested it with several cars and every time I think "If I can't get through here one-wide then two or three-wide will be a disaster".

I'll give it another try though, see if I can figure it out.

Exactly, it's just like any track, you just need to learn the line and reference points. I love the place it's one of the best mod tracks in my opinion.I think so, been a while since I drove it. I suppose as long as everyone practices and is aware of it then it shouldn't be too much of a problem.
The S800 could be a good fit here.
If you someone showed up to Barbagallo without practicing they'd be so far off pace there wouldn't be anyone else around them to cause problems for.I think so, been a while since I drove it. I suppose as long as everyone practices and is aware of it then it shouldn't be too much of a problem.
Those both look awesome. Will be sure to download them. The guy that built the Henry Clay Motorsports Veloce gts8, http://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/index.php?threads/29979/ , has a Honda S800 on the horizon, http://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/index.php?threads/32086/
He has mad modelling skills. The Henry Clay is by far the best looking mod car I've seen. The S800 could equal it.
The Veloce is a, erm handful, but a fun drive. The S800 could be a good fit here.
If you someone showed up to Barbagallo without practicing they'd be so far off pace there wouldn't be anyone else around them to cause problems for. It's a small but tricky track and in the harder to drive street cars it's very difficult to master. The right/left/right combo after the first corner followed by the sweeping off camber right hander is one of the most challenging combinations of corners to master in all of sim racing..IMO of course.
I have a new suggestion. The BMW M235i Racing + [insert any track]. Saw it was on the SRS site combined with Vallelunga Club for this week so I thought I'd get in a bit of practice. Wow, what a car!! We did a week of it in the AC Time Attack Challenge at Imola before all the updates and it was good, but it's even better now. You can really feel the edge of grip and make the car transition to oversteer on command and with control unlike most any other car I've ever driven in sim racing.
You realize you mentioned "requires some practice" in one sentence and then a race at a track that is 21km long and has 73 corners?Which is why I've shy'd away from it so far. I want the club to be very accessible and not require hours of practice before the event and Barbagallo definitely requires some practice.
I'm planning to take it to the Nords, probably next month some time as we get closer to the 24hr of Nords. 👍
