I had a major problem with first gear when driving the BMW 320 Gr 5 on Catalunya National. It took 13 seconds to get out of the gear and because of that, I struggled to keep up with the pack.
That sounds a lot like an issue I had at the same circuit, my McLaren MP4-12C GT3 got stuck in neutral coming out of the hairpin, it finally fixed itself when I stopped the car and put it into reverse before 1st gear, that took about 15s too. Another bug is all cars do random double up/downshifts every now and then which either kills the acceleration or blows the engine.

Being able to see the rear lights of cars in front of you through the hill on Brands Hatch just before "Pilgrims Drop" looks a little bit weird...

Did a quick race weekend at spa. Spent 30mins qualifying and got P6. Went to continue to start race........

I was dead last!??????

Bugs, bugs, bugs everywhere!

I was so tired of being divebombed out of the track, of losing championships because the game sees back markers as podium finishers, and losing my setups that I thought: 'ok, lets practice and hot lapping some cars for a while'. Then the game crashes my PS4.

After that, I deleted the game and downloaded it again to see if things improve because I'm a patient guy and I want to believe in pCARS again. But..

Nope.

I like the game, like the feel of it, the driving is awesome, but all the rest is unfinished, to put it lightly. I like pCARS, really do hope it succeed in the future, but for now, I'm making space on my hard drive to Destiny's DLC.

The game has great potential, but it's broken beyond belief. I would be deeply ashamed of releasing this stuff to consumers. Since GT5, I see Poliphony Digital as a sitcom, a place where common sense is the last resouce, something that is only tried when every other option had been deployed and failed miserably. SMS looks like a place where common sense is a non-existent concept, something which you see easily on some design decisions, like the lack of input give to players (what is the point of simulating wheater and the impact of that on performance if this information is closed to the eyes of the console player?). The UI is rough, there are lots of graphical options (which is a good thing), but you can't set up gamma configurations and the result is that some weather conditions on some tracks makes an invisible asphalt at noon. It's just the kind of thing that I spent the last years making fun of PD design decisions and overall behaviour and now I see in other developer. Developing a sensible racing game must be very, very, very hard indeed.

WMD members will jump on me, patronising and make excuses, but the thing is: any SMS developer would have stumbled on those ridiculous bugs if they had taken the time to, you know, try the game before release. In half an hour, I was already confronted by Thrustmaster T500RS lockup, cars exploding on track, like some guy posted few pages back, and losing setups. Took me two days to suffer from major breaking game bugs that you don't need any effort to reproduce and it makes me wonder what kind of QA is put into those games and if the console versions where really tested prior the release.

is it possible to exit the pits at Spa without hitting the pit wall right at the end? always get a strange wobble there, unless it's where the game's auto drive switches to player drive?

Yup, you're right. I monitored the field during qualifying and that's what broke it. As for the sound bug, you can fix it by restarting the race if you're allowing race restarts, or just exiting and re-entering. Easy fixes, but both bugs are annoying. The PC version was tested so damn well, it's a shame that the console versions didn't get the same treatment.

The sounds glitch is not exclusive to consoles, I'm on PC and have experienced this.

These two trophies are broke on PS4:

Home Field Advantage
Won more than 20 events at your Favorite Location

I have 106 wins at Brands Hatch which is listed as my favourite location but no trophy

Player 1 Versus The World

Entered and completed more than 25 Online races

I have entered and completed 28 online races according to the Driver Network Profile but again the trophy has not unlocked.
These two trophies are on my profile now, it looks like they were awarded via stealth, the Hall of Fame trophy is definitely not there though (maybe it will be if I close my eyes for a minute ).

Not too GREAT glitches, but with a "great" surprise in the end...

1) Lights leaking through solid objects (aka Improper masking of lights)

mask-light.jpg

2) Sloppy and "colliding" cockpit animations

http://gifmaker.cc/PlayGIFAnimation...3OpKKtURSe4Top4MiOCcqq&file=output_v3fkC6.gif

(Look at those choppy downshifting animations.)

3) Sloppy camera in start of races

http://gifmaker.cc/PlayGIFAnimation...vSHwZxzZ7tB1Nu3NRLX5QL&file=output_z5MfPO.gif

4) Inadequate reflection of lights

Tiny and mild source of light, yet HUGE AND BLINDING reflections on the ground. Plus more...

http://gifmaker.cc/PlayGIFAnimation...4w7lBm6EmN0lbznhN5qFcl&file=output_hw89Av.gif

(Focus on car light reflections on the track surface. These are far from simulating reality.)

5) Inadequate dimming of car lights when changing camera angle

Same video as above: when camera goes out of angle, lights on cars dim almost completely.

To see something like this in pCARS is just impossible:

6) Hot-air effect ("vibing waves") above non-hot things

Time 09:15 ... the car has engine in the front, yet hot-air appears in the back of the roof

hot-air.jpg

(The red area on the picture is an area of engine. Yet the hot-air effect is visible on the back of the roof in entire yellow area. How did the hot-air get there, when the car is standing still?

Time 4:06 ... McLaren F1 has an engine in the middle, or rather in the back, but the hot-air effect is visible in front of a windscreen

...and the surprise? Will this be fixed someday? According to developers (namely render lead), "likely no". Non of these is even considered by community as a bug. And these are just a fraction of what I've found (links require pCARS Forum registration). I would rather not talk about 45 objective bugs that are even more serious...

Do you think I'm a crazy nitpicker and should visit a shrink, or artifacts described above are not acceptable even on last-gen consoles? Thanks for your opinions.

I just tried to add some AI cars to a friends only online lobby. The option was there to add them but no option to set their level. When the race started there was no AI in it but should have been over 20 AI cars out there. Not sure what the issue was but it didn't work.

there's a strange bug where if you are in rear passenger cam mode and press the seat adjust buttons (eg backwards/forwards) and then immediately switch to helmet cam you'll find the camera is lodged within the car model, kind of near the roll bar area. then you have to press the seat button just once and the camera reverts to the normal helmet cam view. this happens in every single car I've tried.

I have just deleted the game off my ps4 today, not only do I suffer really badly with the ghosting effect but today my gears stopped working then my pedals stopped working.
I know it is the game because driveclub worked fine and also gt6 on my PS3, such a shame this.
Really hoping for an update soon.

Monza short layout. European Touring TC Cup, Career mode. Free practice session, 90% IA.
It seems like they don't know how to avoid crashed cars on the chicane. Every lap there are more cars, at the end all of them are in the middle of the track. During the race, a lot of crashes too. And when you overlap one of them they do not let them overtake... and they are to slow on corners in this track at 90%.

Anyway I'm enjoying this game like a kid with a lollipop! Only I got some complains about online mode, good for the driver reputation but I don't care about if they don't host any official races to join. Actually It seems that only iRacing is able to make a working online championship system... it's a shame. Will see.

My limited edition and modified car packs keep disappearing from the game along with the invitational events that come with them, I've mentioned it a few times on the official forum but I think it's getting lost amongst the plethora of other problems being mentioned, is this a common problem? I'm on PS4.

This is a game breaker for me, I've already shelled out extra for the limited edition cars which I can only use some of the time when they stop playing hide and seek, and what happens if I have this problem with future DLC? When it's working it's a great game but it has a ridiculous amount of problems that are ruining it for me.

Nope not in my experience to date.:ouch:

XB1 version here...

2nd Pagani trackday at Monza
Game crashed to XB1 home, halfway down the pitlane when starting qualifying. Repeat gave same result
Game crashed to XB1 home, halfway round Curva Biassano on lap 1. Repeat gave same result

Hard to describe this bug but I'll try:
In the Historic GT4 M1Procar Challenge championship at Zolder , the garage door thing is closed in the stall I was inside (but it looks like it is open from inside the garage, but it's closed from the outside) When the car drives out halfway between the end of the garage and the pit lane, it destroys itself and sometimes flips over.

Another bug I found is the one AI opponent making outrageous lap times in qualifying, in a Caterham race at Snetterton me and the rest of the field were getting low 1:30s but one opponent got a 1:10.

I know the track rubbers in over a weekend. But is their visual rubbering in? If so, the Corkscrew at Laguna Seca has rubbered in at eye level (cockpit cam) most times i have driven it in several formula cars. It's like the track dipping down isn't taken into account properly. If no to visual rubbering in...

2 Laps in to 5 laps on Bathurst online, this happened...

Thought I hit an idiot going backwards at first because I was too busy seeing how far behind 2nd place was but when I watched the replay... Nothing!

Just qualified 3rd or 4th in a GT3 race at Silverstone online on PC, but I ended up starting back at the final corner and must have been a good 15/16 empty gridslots away from the back of the field. Then I finished 4th in the 6 lap race, got awarded the win with a time of 8 minutes something compared to 12/13 minutes for the person who actually should have and another in the lobby said my dot didn't even move from the beginning of the race or something.

Tiny bit random

Yep, same happened to me as well in that same event :-(

The trophy notification really completes it.
I'm not sure how I actually earned the trophy, its supposed to be for getting your car off the ground for 0.88 seconds. You'd think it would mean all 4 wheels but apparently not. My car being tanked on its side by 'mister break-all-the-physics' must have been enough.
