For the record, I agree about that PR statement. But:

Could you please keep this thread free of chat and only use it to report bugs?

Its hard enough to track all the stuff in here and report it at WMD without the chitty chat in between.

Agreed, sorry.

I was going to say FLX, I have figured out how to over-ride the ENGINE BLOWN message.

There is a small 10 second window where the pause menu will allow you to 'skip to end of session' before retiring to the pitbox, this will cause the bug that makes the user win the race with the time of the engine 'blowing' as your supposed finish time.

May have made some headway on the slow down<> speed up issue. Seems likely that it is a case of cpu throttling and in the case of my brother the CPU and MB combo may not be the best match. 9590 on a 970 mb he lowered the multiplier from 23.5 to 22 and had much better results. We also traced the cpu clock while running and during the slow down could see that the cpu clock speed dropped from 4.4ghz to 2.x ghz or somewhere in that area. Normally the CPU was set to 4.7ghz and at that speed during a 56 car race on Lemans he would see the problem before the start of lap 3 and then it would happen again every 30 seconds or so. At 4.4 it happened later in the race to a lesser degree and only once during 5 laps so appears to be a large improvement and possibly the solution or at least a workaround for now. He is going to try it later with the multiplier dropped to 20 which would be roughly 4ghz and see what happens.

So if anyone else is seeing the issue on the PC where the car seems to slow a little and then suddenly seems to go into fast forward for a second this is worth looking into assuming of course that you are not using a Xbox controller in which case the FFB seems to cause this via the xinput api. Turning off FFB for those controllers seems to do the trick from what others have posted.

Haven't SMS got enough bugs to be getting on with? Do they really want to know about more?

I personally think that once these already reported bugs get fixed and the first update comes there will be a hole lot of new ones to discuss.

Again, my opinion is lets chat about it now until the first update is released and then we can have a new discussion titled Update 1.01 bugs and glitches thread.

Also, as a suggestion, why don't you start the next thread and keep updating the bugs as a list on the first post so you and SMS can keep track easier and posters can see if their bug has already been reported.

BTW I do appreciate that you are genuinely trying to get something done. Thanks.

If you run out of gas, and coast to the finish line... you still get DQ'd. 👎

Chase Cam + HUD Rear View Mirror- at night, headlights are barely visible, even when directly behind you. (Auto dim simulate?)

SOUND BUG !?

While trying several cars yesterday (at several tracks) I noticed weird crackling sound from the back speakers (I use a Logitech Z906 5.1 surround set on PS4).
It sounds as if the speakers are damaged (they are not).

The Audi starts at lower revs, the other three mainly in higher revs, but the sound stops when releasing the throttle, starting again when throttle is activated again.
It is only there in cockpit view, not with follow cam.
These cars are affected:

- Aston Martin Rapide S Hydrogen Hybrid
- Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3
- Audi R8 LMS Ultra
- Ginetta G55 GT3

(maybe more to discover ?)

This sound is very disturbing, makes the cars unusable.
Most of the cars I tried are not affected.

Well its closing when I click on the garage again. I can't think of anything else to do, help me please.

You mean the game crashes? Everytime you try to access "my garage" or only if you try to go to it from the vehicle selection or the main menu? And which platform are you on, PC, PS4, XBone?

I have had the same problem using a T500 wheel so its not just a gamepad issue. Happened to me at the same point , just upshifted to 4th. It's not a button mapping issue !

I'm having this issue as well. Using DS4 (manual shifting, with gear up mapped to Square and gear down mapped to Cross - clutch unmapped, and therefore automatic), I'm currently racing Clio Cup and find this happens roughly once each race weekend (I'm doing 70% distance and take part in Practice, Qualifying and 2 Races)
I've managed to capture a video of one example, where you can see me change from 4th gear to 5th, only for the gearbox to quickly change to 1st gear, blowing the engine.

At the moment, I get through about 50-75% of races, but the others end exactly like this. I don't believe this is me shifting incorrectly, it seems the shifting is buggy and 1st is selected on occasion in error...

For reference, this often happens to me when no damage has been taken to the car, not even an excursion onto the grass. Very frustrating.

Multiplayer - Joined a lobby that had fuel usage set to OFF so I reduced my fuel load to 1l. Then had The Stig shouting at me to pit every lap.

I made the thread to specifically focus on bug reporting, not for chat, so let's keep it to bug reporting please.

If you feel you have the need to vent about something (but not Sofia Vergara's cleavage:sly:) the Great Project Cars Whinging and Crying Thread is the place for that. This thread is for very specific game issues only

If someone wants to take the issues reported and better organize them they are welcome to do so.

More audio outage. I did not see this example on pCARS forum.

PS4 digital edition
Career mode, Season 2
Historic GT5 UK Trophy, Practice round
Snetterton 300
BMW 320 Turbo Group 5

Engine sound cuts out during braking in chase cam. In cockpit cam, there is no loss of sound. I did tune the car. (Not sure that is cause, but I'm listing all known variables.)

PS4 Bug - I won the race by 20 seconds in the Formula A, and while the count down timer was going all the way down (went to zero while waiting for people to finish), i ended up running out of gas, and it DQ'd me.

Wanted to make sure this was seen

PS4

GT3 US Trophy

Road America - both practice sessions

One of the McLarens laps in a 1:36.6. That's 35seconds quicker than anyone else!

Not sure how I'm gonna beat that lol

Have yet to see if it happens in qualy?

- Rendering bug on several tracks where you see striped black lines somewhere in front of the car. It's most noticable on Brands Hatch. And no, it's not the windshield reflection... ;)
i started seeing this the other day and it is particularly noticeable at Brands. pretty obvious at Laguna Seca too, it's all over the tarmac and gravel traps and the lines fade away as you approach them, happens out of side window too. they look like they're an issue with shadows as they often stem out of shadow details. it's very odd.

Happens to me, too, on PC. As far as I've experienced, it only appears if you use low shadow details. If medium or higher, everything is fine.

PS4 . GT3 round 3 sprint race at Nurburgring GP season 2
RUF GT3
Hit an invisible object / wall 10 laps in which rolled the car and wrecked the race .
Worst bug I've found so far

Following my earlier post, I have another video showing what I think is a random bug with gear shifts:

I find that my Clio Cup car is shifting into 1st gear sporadically as shown here. I'd estimate this happens roughly once every 10-30 minutes of in-game driving.

My setup is as follows:
DualShock 4 - Manual Shifting - Automatic Clutch
Gear Up - Square Button
Gear Down - Cross Button
Clutch unassigned

The issue is not consistent so far as it can happen while shifting up or down. My previous post has a video of this happening while shifting up from 4th to 5th gear.
I find I'm blowing close to 1 engine for every race weekend... This video captures a rare occasion where the engine does not blow from the 'bug'.

Further info:
No damage to car, consistent gear changes on a well known circuit.
Have been unable to prove that this isn't my setup, but I can't see how that would be possible. The immediate jump to 1st gear could only be replicated by my input if I had 1st gear mapped, which I do not.

Is this something that is known?

That has happened to me too, but not recently. I'm using a DS3 on PC with up and down shifting binded to R stick up and down, respectively.

Community Event - Set a time, tried to find myself on the leader board - you have not set a time!!!

Multiplayer - Sakkito RUF GT3 - Did a race, everything was fine, did another race in the same lobby with the same car at the same track and my wheel was clipping the whole race. Next race, everything is back to normal.

Did you simulate/skip to end of session? (I forgot which event...) I did 1:09.xxx in Practice and was comfortably in top 5 with more time I can take off my lap. Paused the Practice and saw I was 1 second from P1. That's enough, let's skip to Qualifying. Skipped to end of session. AI had P1 with 0:56.xxx. Everyone else was 1:08 - 1:12.

AI got P1 in Qualifying with 1:08. Beat me by ~ 0.300 sec. That's more like it. Obviously I didn't skip to end of session after seeing what happened in Practice.

No I ran full session :/

I'm playing on PC. It keeps crashing anytime I try to go into it from anywhere.I'm trying to tune the Audi R8, but can't even get into the garage.

So you can get into the garage? Or onto the track? Do you get a message when it crashes?

That is the first time I m hearing of this bug, very bizarre. Are you a WMD member? If yes, did you delete your profile when the switch from development to release builds was done? Even if not, try to delete your profile at: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\<your user ID which is a random number>\234630\local\project cars
