This just began happening with me also. I've thought mine was tied to having multiple apps running alongside the game. DashMeterPro and pCARS Profiler to be specific.
But maybe not? I would really prefer to not have mine tied to Steam.

Is there a way to run the game completely separate from Steam? PC version, obviously.

I narrowed it down to having my cpu and or gpu overclocked. Set both back to default and haven't crashed since. I run dashmeter also and it has been working flawlessly lately,

The Xbox patch is great and cleared up those steering, traction and opposite lock problems a treat. I'm now managing to stay on track long enough to encounter the AI handling better than they should in the rain and even running into those giant invisible rabbits everyone keeps talking about. Boy, that Harvey bears a real grudge.

Mine has been overclocked since day 1, so I don't think that settles it for me.
Question for me is, if I uninstall the game, can I maintain my save file?

Well, unfortunately I had two incidents with the European Endurance Championship Six Hours at Monza. The game randomly crashed the first time at P2, and the second time halfway through the race(only set on 1 hr, but still lost 30 minutes of the race). Very frustrating. Don't know what it is, but its stupid.

Yes it will save your file as I unistalled and reinstalled also, but before you do that try to set your stuff back to default. Mine worked from day one also then all of a sudden it didn't and the clock settings were an actual project cars forum suggestion and in my case worked.

Havent seen it in this thread but I may have missed it. Twice now the AI has been completely stationary on the track from the start of an online race where I used AI to fill the grid. Really annoying.

PS4
Season 3 GT3 RUF Supercup
Catalunya
Hit what seemed to be an invisible wall on the pit straight which made me loose FFB and my tire and brake temps went from hot to cold in an instant . Getting slightly peed off with it happening half way through a 100% race .

See my post above where this happened to me at Road America.

There is some hope for all those who have the "random downshifting to 1st" bug:

http://forum.projectcarsgame.com/sh...rom-high-gears&p=950606&viewfull=1#post950606

Ow man, the devs are saying that the multishifting bug is a pad problem.

**** my life. Look at those topics, a lot of people are having them. I have two pads, remapped the buttons, and continue to get the bug.

http://forum.projectcarsgame.com/sh...ine-blow-up-due-to-instant-multiple-downshift PS4 topic containing a lot of users having the problem.

**** me. The game is unplayable for me, i get these bad shifting too often to compete in any championship.

It's not just a pad problem. I don't even own a pad and have had it happen twice on T500 wheel. Only happens shifting up from 4th gear using paddles.

I don't know if someting like this has been posted but last night while playing I found an graphic glitch:

Just one more to fix... xD They will need a lot of work to put these game where it should be!

Haven't seen this 'bug' mentioned yet. I think its pretty serious and happened to me three times:
My PS4 is unable to recover from standby mode when pCARS is left open. First I thought this was just my PS4 tripping but it only happens when I leave pCARS open..only way to fix this is yank the powersupply cable out of the PS4 which it doesn't enjoy..

This seems to be caused by the, literal, shadow mapping they use. Its absurd and looks terrible whenever a car gets uprooted.

PS4
Clio Cup
Silverstone International

1) Driving through the links in first, smack bang in the middle of the track and I came to a complete stop. I did notice that the weird black uprights on the inside of the left kink on this straight were knocked over, so no idea if these cause this problem.

2) I restarted the race after the previous error, was leading going in to Vale and a car overtook me by driving through me, which was infuriating. I hadn't gone off track in the previous corners. The AI was always quicker than me there.

The second issue got some swears out of me.

For once I have video material to describe my bug. Well it's an invisible collision/10m high kerb bug so pretty common. But still as enjoyable as the first time. :D

Sorry for the bad quality it's out from a live stream.
I was streaming Le Mans 24h in real time (career mode). After 2h I handed over the car to the AI. AI drove for about 2 laps, a collision bug at Mulsanne corner ended the race prematurely.

Can't find this issue on the search function.

When using the Clio cup car there is an annoying sound every time I shift gear both up and down.

The sound is very similar to the car on car collision sound from gt6 and sounds awful. The sound is present in all camera angles less the chase cam.

I have also noticed that there is no engine sound from the mclaren gt3 when in chase cam.

Anyone else had these issues, any suggested fix?

Clunking kind of sound? I always assumed it was by design, transmission shifting, or the shifter itself. I hear it in a few different cars.

on career mode (LMP2 class but this will ruin any career race where there is no mandatory pitstop), in races where the weather changes i am getting ****ed. The computer drivers do not pit to change to wets, so when it starts to rain i am on slicks so i am buggered ,whereas they just waltz on, happy as can be. i have tried starting on inters to try and compete but i end up being too slow in the dry and too slow when it becomes wet. I liek to race on 100% but during these races i have to reduce the difficulty. When are they going to patch this **** (Ps4).

Are the cpu starting on wets? they seem too quick in dry conditions for this to be the case. If i increase the race duration, would they then pit? I don't want to increase the length to 100% and find out that the same thing happens.

I actually love the game but this ruins career for me and i only play career.

Regarding the Weather/Tyre/AI thing.....yes,SMS can adjust the AI so it struggles in the rain - but what can you do about lets say a 4 lap race,it starts raining heavily, and you cant keep on the track yourself? You just have to tip toe around and hope the AI does aswell? It makes the Invitationals really tough when the rain comes down, when you go from leader to out of the points.

I just whack the AI down to 40% :P

Seriously, maybe the AI can stay the same in the rain but do they have to get better? From the looks of the lap times in the Historic Escort Brands Hatch race it looks like they magically change to wet weather tyres without pitting in and end up putting faster laps down than in the dry.

Currently at British GT Silverstone, raining, good race, no AI to spoil things

Maybe they start on wets then. The AI isn't affected by overheat, or really slightly.

PS4

Not a big deal at all and hardly noteworthy really, but while watching the replays of a couple of open wheel races where I lost my front wing, I noticed that the shadow of the front wing was still visible.

If you keep reversing the replay you can slowly rip the car apart too. strange bug.

Did you see that Ginetta crabbing

All cars on slicks now, too dry for crabs.

If I could re-enact this race in Pcars I would never leave the house. Race started wet, mostly dry at the moment.
With the AI sorted this would be so good to do on Pcars.

So in practice at Snetterton 200 I bumped tyres with another car and this happened...

...and then cars started stopping all around the track, some in the pit lane, some on the grass, some mid corner....

....and then I finished the race, it errored out and I got this when I restarted.

Thankfully a quick overwrite from the cloud storage fixed it.
